There is a bolt holding the pickup tube connected to the bottom of the oil pump and a nut at the bottom of the engine (inside the oil pan ). You have to disconnect it ,let it drop in the oil pan and remove it with the pan and the gasket otherwise it will not allow the pan to slide out without lifting the engine. You were able to get the pickup tube down? Everything I read says you have to drop differential or lift the engine. I have the same year truck with a rotted oil pan
