    Two things:
First, the Telegram scammers are in the comments here, please to not reply to them. I would never ask you to contact me through Telegram. Please pay attention to the name not being accurate.
    Second:
As a reminder guys, the pump I'm giving away is the Melling M342HV a 20% higher volume pump for the 2003-08 5.7 hemi and the 2006-2010 6.1 Hemi engines only! Thank you for watching I appreciate it!

Oddly enough out of those engines listed only the 2009 and 2010 6.1 has lifter failure problems, guess what, they didn't reduce the pump volume but they did change the lifters!

High volume oil pumps were a standard upgrade for as long as I can remember. Anyone rebuilding an engine or transmission or any other mechanical device will always look to make its performance better, more efficient, with minimal increases in costs.
It’s good to see this pump appear. I’ll definitely make this upgrade, it just makes sense.

Cool! Thanks for the info. I will eventually make the swap. For anyone with a Hemi, till you can make this swap, it's probably a good idea to avoid letting it sit idling (not hard for me, I never really did that in the first place). Avoid drive-thrus (I hate them!...always have) and if stuck in crawling traffic, rev the car up to ~1500 rpm every so often just to get some oil on the lifters and cam.

I have the Melling 342HV in my 300C, and I used the high pressure spring. I do get 80+ PSI oil pressure at startup, and once it warms up, its about 38 PSI at idle, 60-70 while driving. I used the high pressure spring because I have eagle heads and a cam.

I got my 5.7 rebuild and mechanic said with our crazy cold temperatures he didn't recommend it. I was all set to put in a hellcat pump but he couldn't find one anyway or it would have taken a long time. Anyway, After I got my engine rebuild with cam and lifters on my 2015 2500 I also needed rockers and push rods because they were worn out. Also threw in a timing chain for good measure. When I picked up my truck I looked at the old parts to find out that the lifters didn't fail at all but the cam was deteriating and took the rollers out too. So. I came to the conclusion that it was oil failure to me. Now I switched to 5w30 synthetic plus Lucas and the engine even sounds better then she ever did. THnks for your great videos!

Melling, I have been doing a lot of research on rebuilding a 2008 ram 1500 5.7 motor with 270k that I just received from a family member. I have only rebuilt 1 other engine over a decade ago so I was really set on getting any info I could. After watching all your videos, I have to say I am really confident that I will be able to rebuild this engine with no problems and think that I will be preventing the common issues or at extending the life of the engine with one of these high-volume pumps after listening to your explanations. without that I probably would have just assumed it was b.s. from companies just trying to sell a product that really doesn't work as well as they claim.

Thank you for these videos. Very informative. In your opinion would raising the idle RPM while using the stock oil pump provide the same benefit as upgrading to a higher volume pump? Thanks again!

Getting ready to do head gaskets on my 05 300c 5.7 with close to 200k miles, a Melling HV oil pump would be a nice addition.

    Question Dude,
Why is a 5.7 Durango rated at 360hp and a 5.7 Ram rated at 395hp?
Where is the extra hp coming from in a Ram 5.7?
What would it take to make up the 35hp difference?
    Keep up the great work!!🤘🤘

Great video and info , love how you are determined to help fix the hemi tick as Chrysler didn't give a crap about it and continued to sell the hemi engine with that flaw.
I have a question for you what are chances that my 6.4 with 25k miles on it would have that problem i think i might be hearing something like it thanks

If it spends an abundance of time at low rpm or idle it's well on its way to failure.

Melling is the way to go

Apparently they have the m452HV, standard pressure, doesn't come with the high pressure spring for a little cheaper

I own a 2022 Power Wagon that I regularly change the oil and never let idle for an extended time as, since I've been told will help prevent the dreaded Hemi 'Tic'. We had our first cold morning of the 2025 Winter yesterday here in North Texas so I did a little experiment: started the engine and sat in the cab watching the oil temp, oil pressure, and coolant temp levels on the driver information screen. At high idle the oil pressure was 55 psi and I watched the oil temp climb to 116f and the coolant temp climb to 140f where the high idle kicked off. I watched the oil pressure slowly drop to 38 psi where it stayed at low idle. I revved the engine up back to the high idle level and saw 55 psi again before dropping back to 38 psi. So the question is, shouldn't 38 psi at low idle be sufficient to properly lubricate all the moving parts in an engine with clean oil and filter?

Melling! Thanks for the video. I go with the Melling water pumps for the 5.7 also, one of the few places I will use aftermarket instead of OEM

Great information. There is one more point, I set a colder thermostat to 82' and the oil temperature also decreased by an average of 10', respectively, the oil pressure also increased slightly. Before 27.5Psi do33.5Psi Idling. I also wanted to buy this pump 10452HV But I don’t know how, I’m in Kazakhstan

Will this install void a factory warranty? I see some hemi owners swear by 5w30 weight oil. Your thoughts? Thank You.
