First thing you should know that what kind of soil is best to grow bamboo plants. The simple answer is It prefers nutrient-rich, sandy loam or cactus and succulent potting mix. when you choose your container.If you do not use a container with enough drainage holes, the soil retains too much water leading to the rotting of the roots. Another recommendation is to add some gravel to the bottom of the container. This helps in draining the exess water. Depending on the area you live in. What sand is better or should be used? Fine sand or coarse sand? Fine sand holds and retains water. Coarse sand is better for drainage. I'm conflicted.

@@GreenBackyard here is my story : my child just tear all leave accept some 3 4 small and some of them have been cut i just trim and i put some of them in water aloe but they are getting smelly at the root i thought it would be fine as it had some rooot and leave and some stem i just put in red sandy soil with aloe st the bottom (they are
without root straight cut ) i dont if know if its gonna die or not
