I like watching your channel, you always talk in a way that people can understand if these jobs are all new to them, fantastic idea with the bracket system for the grinders, you are so right that where ever you fix them permanently they are always in the way 🤬🤬Like the way you showed the set up & the cutting of the timbers with the angles, rather than all cut off camera & the next we see is something just being fixed to the wall & we are all left guessing 😊👍A very unique channel, which keeps my interest in watching, Thankyou 😊
The electric pump that you purchased at auction is identical to the pump used on my hydraulic hose crimper for attaching fittings on the ends of the hoses. Mine breaks out at 12,000 psi and the one that you have breaks out at 8 to 9,000 psi and it is designed this way as to not crush the fittings making them unusable and weaken them. I enjoy your videos and have been following you since i have seen you and Lord Muck on Diesel Creek. Keep doing what you are doing.
Is there a brand name on yours? I’m wondering if mines just got a pressure relief for the application it’s used on. It would be nice if I could use it similarly to the foot pedal if it can be used at higher pressure.
@@CalamityKim1 Mine was bought at a repair shop/garage" GOING out of Business sale". It was sold by Gates as a Hydraulic hose crimper kit. So like you I have no idea WHO or WHAT company built it. I have tried for a while to find information about it but found very little. I use a company called " Central Hydraulics" for a some of my hydraulic needs and NAPA parts store.
Great idea with the jack stand. Can use all your strength instead of using half to hold up the ratchet. I've used the french cleat system for years. Good stuff.
The grinder idea is brilliant, so simple but cool. I was watching Clint over at C&C and he was using the exact same jack that you have to put bearing rings into a digger arm. That speed pump was a really good buy, what age is it, it looks older than me and I'm in my 60's. 😂👍
With that french cleat - I'd be really tempted to have one screw, or a wing nut, or something to retain it on the wall track. If you ever had a wheel explode, I think there is a reasonable chance the whole grinder would leap off the wall.
Honestly it’s really sturdy. The weight of the bench grinders it’s never falling of the wall. It would have to jump over an inch in a specific way to pop off.
Only ever had a plain simple porta power with a hand pump, you got another absolute auction bargain! Hollow ram is a really good idea, never used or seen one before! Phil
That's a very neat system! It sure beats using pegboard. Though it still has its uses for light things of course. I have seen people use pegboard for heavy things and it never ends well. (Points to self) 😅 Thanks for sharing Kim!
For the electric pump, you can get a valve that has a built in check ball so it will hold the load until you manually release the pressure. With that pump and the pull ram, you've already got 2/3 of an electrical knockout punch set. All you would need are the punch and die set and the pull studs to fit.
@@CalamityKim1 Keep an eye out for a orphaned hydraulic hose crimper too. I got one I pieced together a few years back. It's saved me quite a bit of time and money on restorations.
clever idea with the axle stands i think you need to lock them bench grinders onto the wood screw to secure it sometimes they vibrate might jump off the bracket
It would be interesting to see if a stop could be setup on the hollow ram setup. The french cleat idea is a great idea for smaller shop areas. Thanks for sharing.
The hydraulic pump was a good buy I’m not sure what you could use it for but I’m sure a project will crop up. Better to have it ready to use than need one.
I don’t know how you find the time to accomplish all these projects 🤔 as I’ve said before we learn a lot from watching you plan and work on these 👍 just the greatest channel and content creator! ❤️
Hi Kim good informative video, I like carpentry as a hobby and have seen the french cleat system before. However it was a good call and very handy for your application, neat and tidy and not taking up floor space. The Jack system, I thought maybe some kind of cut off at a hight reached might also lock the ram rather than just droping. But I am confident that if that was function was needed, you would have no problem sorting that out. A small observation; look as if you are getting short of space in your workshop. But I supose that is only temporary as projects get finished out the door and somthing else comes in. Loved the video and keep them coming.
Good video as always Kim 👍 like some others have said the cleat systems is a great idea but 🙄 have known a piece of metal or even a chisel perhaps with too much pressure being applied causing the bench to jump a bit 😳 yes probably operator error 😕😁 as for the air pump the self lowering is a bit of a concern but im sure you'll adapt and overcome 👌
The weight of the grinders they won’t go anywhere to be fair. I’ve already given them a lot of use 😁 the pump is a pressure relief valve but I’ll just have to take it apart and try to remove it and put an external one on that doesn’t let all the pressure off like that does
So the abs ring is on the hub, it had rusted so started to rub on the sensor. Every time the rust hit the sensor it was causing it to think it was going twice as fast as I was. Thanks 😊
Didn't know that was called a French cleat seen something very similar before in an old barn and looked like it was for holding feed buckets up for the cows

Thanks 😊

Thanks Jim, yes I have my chopsaw mounted on the wall with it out the way. I love it!
Nice idea hanging up the grinders, well done. 👍👍

I have thought about something like that. The electric pump would make light work of it.

Hi Kim thanks for another great video informative and well presented ,take care kind regards to you and Lord muck 😊.

Hello Miss Kim! I hope you have had a great week. Been busy hauling grain here. Thank you for the update. Looks like a great buy on the pump!
Like the flexible wall mounted system, never heard it called a "French Cleat" system.
Some advanced car diagnostic there Kim, 👌.
Thanks for sharing
Great work Kimberly, You are keeping busy for sure👌👍🙏🙂

Great entertainment Kim, fantastic idea for the grinders.
Using your jackstand as a centering lever for your torque wrench is brilliant, going to add that to my bag of tricks!
Great video , smallish projects done and explained 👍
Excellent video, interesting projects and pleased your Audi is sorted , they are good cars. Take care Kim and looking forward to your next video.

I'm glad I watched this, it's given me a great idea for mounting my bench grinder. 👍
Excellent video Kim :) also super cool and very good information too !
I like the cleats. Great idea Kim.
Great idea with that cleat system 👌
Great Idea!! French Clips.😊

Et voila! Vive la Françe!
Is the speed sensor built into the wheel bearing or with the play in the bad bearing causing pick up to read bad?
Enjoying the projects you work on

What brand All season tyre's have you fitted and you like them. Great video 👍
Just what I thought Kim about the simple strong French cleat 🤠 oh and I laughed thinking you put blue nail polish on your gloves 😂
Not today. I just can’t paint anything without getting covered in it 😁

So she is a carpenter as well as an Iron worker 🇬🇧💡👌
Really good ideas great video thanks.
I think your 110v pump may have been for a tirfor style winch where the ram is fast and single acting??
Nice on Kim
Jack stand to level so you can get proper pressure without the fight is a very smart idea.
It’s a method used a lot in hgv world. It’s really helpful 😊

Great video, Kim. You deserve more subscriptions 💪🏼😄
Slowly but surely 😁 thanks
Could place a 110v inverter in your truck for mobile ram use 💡
Thought next was the engine start for the little track vehicle?
I can’t get it done that fast. It takes a bit of time sourcing and making parts for it. I have been on with it 😁
👌👌

being a belt + braces man, i'd have a screw/locking device in there
It honestly doesn’t need it. I have my chopsaw mounted on some French clear. It’s been mounted for 5years and never had an issue.
