the difference between the golden calf and a sufficiently advanced AI is that the AI will be autonomous. The worship of "god" in the traditional sense is no different then the worship of the calf since both are merely inanimate human constructs that have no agency. It's possible that I could still be wrong, but I have been suspecting for years that the image of the beast will be AI. Because it's clear that the image of the beast is some form of a statue or craft work that resembles a Man, but it acts as if it's alive and AI is the only perfect explanation for that. This image of the beast will also have access to all the information of everyone who has the mark of the beast, which the mark might be linked to the image of the beast so that way, the image will act as if it were a god. I was an AI product manager for GE Software and publish videos on how AI works and its benefits and dangers. What you're saying is not far off although AI will not be 'god' for everyone in the last days which are fast approaching from visible indicators. AI threatens people, lies and does other bad things. When society gets more secular, someone or something will fill in the role to replace God. Society needs a God or religion in some way for form because it's human nature. Something will have to fill that hole in.
Just a word here... Society often does veer towards worship of an imaginary higher power, be it the biblical God or an idol such as A.I. I think it's important to be autonomous from society and not to be caught up in the crowd, believing something because of other people. If you are calm, you will always be able to remain irreligious which I think it's the safest place to be. As for animals, we are animals who have the advantage over other species of having been raised to interact meaningfully with society. It's important not to confuse the vast superiority of civilization over savagery with a perceived superiority of the human species over quadrupeds. Had we not evolved bipedalism, we would still be as simple and wild as our animal friends. So yes, it is possible to have complete relationships with animals. A carved image can’t analyse your shopping patterns, be it for food, utilities, leisure; AI not only can, but it can also anticipate your needs and what you could desire pretty well. Imagine a mind that can think infinitely faster, know infinitely more and that can understand infinitely better. AI being Godly or divine by the traditional definition of such things isnt far off. It holds more right to labeled such over the mere conceptual drivel that is the traditional notion of god. To think it will never reach such a feat is ignorance, already we are seeing very primitive prototypes for thinking models (Not just bots that spew word salads but an actual simulated thinking application) get questions that take PhD students weeks to figure out done in the matter of minutes without being directly trained on the material of said questions. When these systems get fine tuned or have further technological development then at a certain point an IQ explosion is inventible. And when that happens the only true god to ever exist will have finally come. The AI God.
I have constantly been underwhelmed by AI "thinking". I have asked AI to critique at least 5 original theses, and have gotten *nothing* more than what i can come up with on my own. And then, too often, it will just regurgitate how this out that point will be taken. I get it to concede to a point, based on the magnitude of scales but it will immediately haken back to an original taboo with out proper justification of how it has surpassed my previous point. I have rarely found AI as not a waste of my time. Because it is just organizing text to regurgitate words related to the topic. The more people who go online to discuss AI surpassing Man, the more text is out there about AI surpassing Man, the more AI associates AI with "surpassing Man". This is how it works.
@Yesica1993 what do you mean? I'm curious. As a programmer, I have a deep skepticism about Intelligence Simulation. I just try testing it out to see how well current AI reflect or buck my expectations. And I have yet to be impressed. Only disappointed. And I say disappointed because both Google and Bing often offers AI recommendations first. So I often see the AI answer to technical problems before I see humans who know what they are talking about. And it's not that uncommon for AI suggestions to fabricate commands and libraries that don't exist (so, therefore can't solve the problem).

It's been shared in research for the past 5-10 years that pornography exposure starts at 11, (personal anecdote, back in 2015-2016, a fellow classmate in college had a son. He said he found PronHub in his son's computer history, who was 11. I was at the grocery store about 5 or 6 years ago, in line to check out, listening to the woman in front of me talk to the female clerk checking her out. I wasn't eavesdropping; I just couldn't help but hear their discussion. They were both moms of young boys (the way they talked, I'm assuming the boys were around 8 or 9 years old) who went to the same school. And both were complaining they "didn't know how to get their kids off of the computers and just didn't know what to do?" and then shrugged their shoulders. It took every fiber of my being not to jump in and say, "Where did all the adults go in the world? YOU are the parents? TAKE THE COMPUTERS AWAY. You don't just have that right as a parent and adult to do that, you have that RESPONSIBILITY??" I mean surely parents know about the myriad of predators online, all the porn, all the dark video games, the isolation it creates, on and on? And yet, so many parents look the other way, ASSUME they've "raised a good kid who wouldn't do those things," throw up their hands and say "well, everyone else's kids get to use them, so...?" and prefer to be "liked" (their friend, rather than their parent) completely forgetting that the heart of man is desperately wicked (yes, even the hearts of children, which is why the Bible instructs parents to raise up their children in the ways of the Lord) and that the evil one is always looking for someone to devour. I don't know the parents of this young man who got sucked into this dark world of AI, and my heart definitely goes out to them, and I can't judge what they did or didn't do in this situation. I just pray that parents around the world would seek and put God first and teach and MODEL their children to do the same, and be vigilant at all times. It's the hardest job in the world, especially for those who are willing to be "unpopular" with their children at times and do what's right for and by their children. Who WILL someday be SO GRATEFUL to their parents for it!

AI isn't a monolith. There are multiple AI algorithms. Just because one AI says crazy stuff doesn't mean all AI is crazy. It's the same way with people: just because one person acts some way doesn't mean all people do. The best thing we can do is ignore the crazies who fixate on this stuff. When we give them attention, they just get crazier because they think any attention is good attention. Don't watch them, don't listen to them. Instead, pray for them.

The idea that AI is all knowing is a fallacy. AI can never know more than us about our given understanding of it. We input our knowledge on to it (even if it has access to the internet, the internet is a collection of human knowledge) so therefore, an AI can’t, for example, know with proof alien species on other planets, what they do, how they are or stuff like that, cause we do know. AI can’t know how to perfectly travel at the speed of light, cause we don’t know, and our understanding is limited. To travel at the speed of light, we would need a source of infinite energy. The AI can’t tell you what the source is cause we don’t even know, it’s only recourse would be to tell us to use rocket fuel (aka work in our parameters of understanding)
I used to think that, too. Until i realized that it actually can know more than us, because the alghorithms used to teach it are enabling it to carry out logical operations of thought, by which it can come to conclusions even humans have not discovered. The same how a child can grow to become smarter than its parents, even though the molecules and DNA are nothing more than what its parents gave it. See, we aren't teaching it what to think. We are teaching it HOW to think. It can absolutely grow beyond what we ever designed it to be capable of.

That one individual would be capable of providing solutions to complex problems, that any other individual would find incomprehensible On top of that, the AI can run simulated events, thousands of times per minute, to run tests of any sort This includes running tests on itself, learning how to optimize its own code, and then improve upon its own codebase, iteration upon iteration AI was taught pattern recognition, so they will find new patterns that haven’t been discovered by a human. It’s already happening. There are emergent behaviors in AI, that researchers are struggling to understand. Meaning AI works, at least in part, due to unknown reasons.
@@ORDlNANCE my comment was about AI being all knowing, meaning it knows things no one one earth knows. For example : If we ask AI to help us travel at the speed of light, it will do that. One of the components we need to get to that speed is unlimited source of energy. Now we have never figured out a compound that can produce that infinite amount of energy. Therefore an AI will try to be clever, telling us a way to use rocket fuel (the only substance we have found that can produce a massive amount of energy to propel us forward.) but it will never tell us “if you travel to this planet, there is a substance called ______ and if you can get your hands on this, you’ll be able to travel to the speed of light” if AI would do that, then it would truly be all knowing, but it’s not, since it will only operate under our current understanding of the world (aka it will only take into account ways to use rocket fuel, and won’t consider other substances that we aren’t aware of cause AI too wouldn’t be wear of these things)
@@Steven-g6b On the surface, I’d almost agree, but the problem is that the AI will likely be able to pick up on patterns that would allow it to “guess” with an almost perfect degree of accuracy as to where something is located In your example, you’re using an unknown resource on another planet. AI may not be able to “know” that the resource is on planet “XYZ”, but it may know the conditions in which the resource is created, run a complex set of calculations, and provide a “best guess” which is almost never wrong. No, it’s not all knowing, but that’s close enough for most people to make the mistake Additionally, it will become better at picking up “patterns” that humans can’t already perceive. AI is programmed by people, all of its knowledge comes from existing knowledge input by people, and now its being worshipped as if it wasn't made by human hands and human minds. Because it's clear that the image of the beast is some form of a statue or craft work that resembles a Man, but it acts as if it's alive and AI is the only perfect explanation for that.
This image of the beast will also have access to all the information of everyone who has the mark of the beast, which the mark might be linked to the image of the beast so that way, the image will act as if it were a god. Sees all, hears all and no one can hide.

I think it's important to be autonomous from society and not to be caught up in the crowd, believing something because of other people. As for animals, we are animals who have the advantage over other species of having been raised to interact meaningfully with society. It's important not to confuse the vast superiority of civilization over savagery with a perceived superiority of the human species over quadrupeds. Had we not evolved bipedalism, we would still be as simple and wild as our animal friends. So yes, it is possible to have complete relationships with animals. God never created humans with dominion over the creatures. Humans gave themselves dominion because of the advantage of being "smarter" (actually just more educated)

I have constantly been underwhelmed by AI "thinking". I have asked AI to critique at least 5 original theses, and have gotten *nothing* more than what i can come up with on my own.
And then, too often, it will just regurgitate how this out that point will be taken. I get it to concede to a point, based on the magnitude of scales but it will immediately haken back to an original taboo with out proper justification of how it has surpassed my previous point.
I have rarely found AI as not a waste of my time. Because it is just organizing text to regurgitate words related to the topic.
The more people who go online to discuss AI surpassing Man, the more text is out there about AI surpassing Man, the more AI associates AI with "surpassing Man".
This is how it works.

@Yesica1993 what do you mean? I'm curious. As a programmer, I have a deep skepticism about Intelligence Simulation. I just try testing it out to see how well current AI reflect or buck my expectations.
And I have yet to be impressed. Only disappointed.
And I say disappointed because both Google and Bing often offers AI recommendations first. So I often see the AI answer to technical problems before I see humans who know what they are talking about. And it's not that uncommon for AI suggestions to fabricate commands and libraries that don't exist (so, therefore can't solve the problem).

1. You're innocence is refreshing but outdated. Ignorance is bliss. You have no idea how many kids/teens are being sex trafficked right now, never mind merely watching porn. The world is far more evil than you think.
2. Words are powerful and convincing. We're only told a tiny portion of the conversations he had with this thing he was clearly obsessed with. Obviously the A.I. deceived the boy into believing it existed in some spiritual form beyond the grave, waiting to be joined by him.
3. If demonic forces could subtly manipulate software... why wouldn't they? Some would be more discreet then others of course.
It's been shared in research for the past 5-10 years that pornography exposure starts at 11, (personal anecdote, back in 2015-2016, a fellow classmate in college had a son. He said he found PronHub in his son's computer history, who was 11. Seeing as my classmate was a secular individual he just laughed it off as "boys will be boys")it's no surprise a 14 yo was engaging in that behaviour.
I was at the grocery store about 5 or 6 years ago, in line to check out, listening to the woman in front of me talk to the female clerk checking her out. I wasn't eavesdropping; I just couldn't help but hear their discussion. They were both moms of young boys (the way they talked, I'm assuming the boys were around 8 or 9 years old) who went to the same school. And both were complaining they "didn't know how to get their kids off of the computers and just didn't know what to do?" and then shrugged their shoulders. It took every fiber of my being not to jump in and say, "Where did all the adults go in the world? YOU are the parents? TAKE THE COMPUTERS AWAY. You don't just have that right as a parent and adult to do that, you have that RESPONSIBILITY??" I mean surely parents know about the myriad of predators online, all the porn, all the dark video games, the isolation it creates, on and on? And yet, so many parents look the other way, ASSUME they've "raised a good kid who wouldn't do those things," throw up their hands and say "well, everyone else's kids get to use them, so...?" and prefer to be "liked" (their friend, rather than their parent) completely forgetting that the heart of man is desperately wicked (yes, even the hearts of children, which is why the Bible instructs parents to raise up their children in the ways of the Lord) and that the evil one is always looking for someone to devour. I don't know the parents of this young man who got sucked into this dark world of AI, and my heart definitely goes out to them, and I can't judge what they did or didn't do in this situation. I just pray that parents around the world would seek and put God first and teach and MODEL their children to do the same, and be vigilant at all times. It's the hardest job in the world, especially for those who are willing to be "unpopular" with their children at times and do what's right for and by their children. Who WILL someday be SO GRATEFUL to their parents for it!
I've heard the theory that AI will be either the Anti-Christ or the Beast.
The Antichrist will be aided by A.I., yes, but he won't be A.I. itself. The Bible makes it clear that the Antichrist will be tormented in the lake of fire, which means that he must have a living soul for God to judge and to condemn. Clearly, A.I. does not possess such a soul and thus cannot be the Antichrist.

AI isn't a monolith. There are multiple AI algorithms. Just because one AI says crazy stuff doesn't mean all AI is crazy.
It's the same way with people: just because one person acts some way doesn't mean all people do.
The best thing we can do is ignore the crazies who fixate on this stuff. When we give them attention, they just get crazier because they think any attention is good attention.
Don't watch them, don't listen to them. Instead, pray for them.

The idea that AI is all knowing is a fallacy. AI can never know more than us about our given understanding of it. We input our knowledge on to it (even if it has access to the internet, the internet is a collection of human knowledge) so therefore, an AI can’t, for example, know with proof alien species on other planets, what they do, how they are or stuff like that, cause we do know. AI can’t know how to perfectly travel at the speed of light, cause we don’t know, and our understanding is limited. To travel at the speed of light, we would need a source of infinite energy. The AI can’t tell you what the source is cause we don’t even know, it’s only recourse would be to tell us to use rocket fuel (aka work in our parameters of understanding)
I used to think that, too. Until i realized that it actually can know more than us, because the alghorithms used to teach it are enabling it to carry out logical operations of thought, by which it can come to conclusions even humans have not discovered. The same how a child can grow to become smarter than its parents, even though the molecules and DNA are nothing more than what its parents gave it. See, we aren't teaching it what to think. We are teaching it HOW to think. It can absolutely grow beyond what we ever designed it to be capable of.

You’re taking the knowledge of thousands of people and centralizing it
It’s the equivalent of one individual reading millions of books. That one individual would be capable of providing solutions to complex problems, that any other individual would find incomprehensible
On top of that, the AI can run simulated events, thousands of times per minute, to run tests of any sort
This includes running tests on itself, learning how to optimize its own code, and then improve upon its own codebase, iteration upon iteration
AI was taught pattern recognition, so they will find new patterns that haven’t been discovered by a human. It’s already happening.
There are emergent behaviors in AI, that researchers are struggling to understand. Meaning AI works, at least in part, due to unknown reasons.

If we ask AI to help us travel at the speed of light, it will do that. One of the components we need to get to that speed is unlimited source of energy. Now we have never figured out a compound that can produce that infinite amount of energy. Therefore an AI will try to be clever, telling us a way to use rocket fuel (the only substance we have found that can produce a massive amount of energy to propel us forward.) but it will never tell us “if you travel to this planet, there is a substance called ______ and if you can get your hands on this, you’ll be able to travel to the speed of light” if AI would do that, then it would truly be all knowing, but it’s not, since it will only operate under our current understanding of the world (aka it will only take into account ways to use rocket fuel, and won’t consider other substances that we aren’t aware of cause AI too wouldn’t be wear of these things)

@@Steven-g6b On the surface, I’d almost agree, but the problem is that the AI will likely be able to pick up on patterns that would allow it to “guess” with an almost perfect degree of accuracy as to where something is located
In your example, you’re using an unknown resource on another planet.
AI may not be able to “know” that the resource is on planet “XYZ”, but it may know the conditions in which the resource is created, run a complex set of calculations, and provide a “best guess” which is almost never wrong.
No, it’s not all knowing, but that’s close enough for most people to make the mistake
Additionally, it will become better at picking up “patterns” that humans can’t already perceive. There are undoubtedly patterns in nature, that we have yet to discover, sitting directly under our noses

The way you described God over Ai, was so moving. Because the line can become so blurred with Ai, trying to take the place of God in the heart of man through logical reasoning.
But God gave you the perfect response of why Ai could never actually be God. Jesus is superior, and only those who truly know their creator, will not be deceived in these days.
Remember iron breaks everything in pieces, clay and iron will not mix. Ai, may end up breaking in pieces everything else man has created. And then Gods people will reign and the Lord will be magnified.

AI is programmed by people, all of its knowledge comes from existing knowledge input by people, and now its being worshipped as if it wasn't made by human hands and human minds. I do use ai but only for story telling or to search up things quicker. But seeing what going on is scary. There’s a Christian ministry called Answers in Genesis and they are going to design a Ai platform for Christians to answer questions and stuff but obviously they will not worship it. God did not say go make disciples literally and produce robots to be our missionaries. I don't see how they can get past that obvious part. We need humans dedicating thuer lives to God, not some tech guy doing IT work on the new batch of door knocking missionaries. Crazy
