Camshaft Positioning Sensor: How To Time V6 Mustang And 4.2 EFI By Hand

The 6th tooth rule stems from removing the Crankshaft sensor at the base of the harmonic balancer to expose an indicator on some covers. Not all Essex covers have a consistent indicator and some have No Indicator. Ford engineers left that indicator to line up the timing inscribed on balancer as the only method of re-timing the engine. It is all buried by sensor and balancer rust on all vehicles. I in turn correlated that into the universally inspecable exact allignment method, The 6th Tooth Rule (01-04 3.8, 4.2 all, 3.9 04-08) internally balanced Essex v6 engines.
