What a beautiful dog, and what an amazing job you've done with him. I'm going to say that's the best Schnauzer head I've ever seen. I love how everything flows - that's a perfect curve from the inside of Hank's eyebrow to the bottom of his beard. I've never seen it done like that before. The bad news is that I came here looking for tips on grooming my wee girl, but I'm left feeling it is more complicated and harder to do than I was thinking before. My Miniature Schnauzer Maisie will be three this Christmas, and is as social and well behaved a Schnauzer as you'll ever see, and that's with people and dogs. I am going to put some of that down to signing up with Mark Vette and buying and reading his books, but Maisie gets what my wife calls her spar treatment every day which she loves. Up until today, I have used scissors and human hair clippers, but I ordered Wahl KM10 clippers after I nicked her last time I groomed her. It was only tiny, but I never want to risk doing that again. I have decent scissors, and ordered a pair of 6.5" Shernbao Shark Teeth thinners with the clippers, and they are night and day better than the Kmart thinners I have used up till now. What I am wondering is do I need more than the #10 head than came with the KM10 clippers? Are they easy to change (quickly) or do you have multiple clippers with different heads? I think I saw you adjust the head at one point. I have used them once, and they work so much better than the human hair clippers I've been using. Thank you again for sharing how you groom Schnauzer. It's very much appreciated.
I love your kindness and patience. You'd definitely be one of the few i would trust with my Schnauzers. Thank you the world needs more groomers like you!
Hank is so good on the grooming table. I had to start grooming my schnauzer when Covid happened. Boy what a challenge but after 2 1/2 years it’s looking pretty good. Still love to watch grooming videos. Great job!
Good job Hank! You're a doll! Great tutorial. Thanks! I do have a jumpy schnauzer. You're not wrong. It is challenging. As a home groomer, I need all the help I can get.
I usually send my dogs to the groomer but because of the mystery illness going around I'm trying to groom my Schnauzer, 2 Schnorkies and Yorkie. Doing paws, Schnauzer face and ears are my hardest. I can't figure out how to get the nose hair between the eyes. That's my greatest challenge.
I love watching you groom Hank, but I can barely hear your comments. My sound is as high as it goes, too! Wonder if anyone else has this problem? Thanks, I'm learning to groom my mini Schnauzer, Buster!❤❤❤
Lmao! this is one of the funniest comments/observations we’ve ever received. What Rudy is actually doing is gently rubbing/petting the inside of Hank’s rear leg. However we cannot confirm nor deny if a pre grooming ball massage is effective in calming a dog. When we have the answer, we’ll report back to this thread immediately 😂
Brilliant groom Rudy. Could you tell me what brand of shears you use for schnauzers and that first wide brush - what’s that called? I want to groom my own black miniature schnauzer here in Oz 🐺
Having trouble getting my pup groomed. She is 5 months old and fights every step of the way till they give up with a partial grooming. I brush her every day and and use old battery tooth brush to get her used to the vibration and sound. She won’t stand still for one minute. Any advice on this?
Hey I have 2 puppies that are about 10 months old in our time. So they are a bit on the adolescent side. One of them doesn’t fight the clippers when being cut and the other one does. However, they both fight when trying to groom their face. Any tips?
My schnauzer has ALWAYS hated grooming. She just turned 16 and never has really improved. I can’t pull hair out of her ears like our first schnauzer I’ve trimmed her since she came home as puppy.
I'm sorry, I know its tough when that is the case..It is very common, that many dogs just do not accept the grooming process, and sometimes it is not because of anything we did or didn't do..They just don't like it..Thank you so much for watching and sharing..
Mine is 4 years old mini and hates it so much. It takes me an hour just to get her decent with clippers and scissors. She bites me and snarles and barks. I had her professionally groomed a couple of times then realized it was a waste of time because they said I had to be there to try to hold her down. I’d end up sweating and covered in fur at the end so I just decided to do it myself because I’m basically doing half the job for the groomer and paying them. I’ve had to lift her off the ground by the scruff of her neck to trim her private areas and she is going off like Linda Blair. Trimming her legs, paws, ears, underneath jaw, it’s all awful. Even if I’m giving her treats every couple of minutes it really doesn’t make any difference. It upsets me because if she would just stand there and let me do it I could get it done in 20 minutes and I would be able to do such wonderful stuff. I can’t pluck the hair out of her ears because she goes bezerk. All I can do is grab an ear at opportune moments and snip some of it out which she will allow for about 5 seconds before she goes nuts. The same thing happens when I try and clean her teeth. All I can do is wrap my finger in some cloth and just shove it in and rub along her teeth for a couple seconds.
Don't forget to 'Like' the video to show Hank all your love !

Is massaging his balls at the beginning a technique to calm him down?

What if the Hank I have is more like a cracked out Dexter? You got the "Quite the challenge " video for all the Dexter Dogs?🤞🤞.
Great vid! What kind of thinning shears do you use? 24 or 46 tooth?
I use both ,depending on type of dog

would prefer to see above eyebrows clipped shorter as that will soon grow messy. Lovely dog.
