    To all who may read this I have a question, if you are fully aware that you have detached from ego and can clearly observe your thoughts, If Ego is only when you are unconscious, what are Intrusive thoughts when you observe them consciously? struggling with this at the moment, because I thought Intrusive thoughts were Ego, can someone shine some light on this for me please?
    re-watched this 1 year later and I am going to answer my original question having studied more, just for anyone who's curious.
    when you are awake all thoughts are intrusive when you are meditative. If thoughts come in let them go, your ego wants your attention by trying to get you identify with its thought forms. we are all loving awareness observing these thoughts it's only our identification with these thoughts which creates suffering, because if you have identified into personhood then you are open to suffering, where as if you know thyself "Spirit" then you will never be offended. "Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists, herein lies the piece of God".
    Thank You Steve and Quantum Revolution Counseling , you are literally unifying religions by understanding that their all saying the same thing but in their own way and in doing so getting the message across through your hard work and teachings on this beautiful channel you have created. Steve "You are the light".
    Thank you again,

    ''And as you experience the unifying qualities you feel the sense of spirit and this is all you want." Ram Dass and Mooji talk about this as well, they call it "falling in love with love". And God is love.

    Everyone has an ego, and it is not of Love. The ego is also not evil, although it is behind all acts we would consider evil.
    The ego is not a thing or an entity, it's just programming to take care of number one. This programming causes us to be self-servicing, self-centered, fearful, distrusting, defensive and aggressive.
    The ego is a sense of self, not something real or true. A sense of self is nothing tangible, nothing that can't be fairly easily overlooked, if its lack of realness is pointed out.
    The ego is programming that causes us to see life, ourselves and others through a particular lense; one tainted by fear, judgment, limitation, smallness and a sense of lack.
    The egoic programming creates a sense of being under attack or threatened by others and by life. The ego is in fear much of the time, and therefore divorced from Love.
    This fear is an illusion, an imagination of something fearful in the future; not based on an actual threat in the here and now.

    So I want to say Steve’s message is use ego to access spirit by being compassionate and loving and humble! But I also hear him speaking about us removing ego from the equation, but he acknowledges that Buddha couldn’t do this, so maybe I miss interpret some of the message ?

      Simplest path as we see it: practice virtues, or the fruits of the spirit. Forgiveness, mercy, patience, wisdom, courage, tolerance and persistence all tame the ego, whose nature it is to be resentful, merciless, impatience, ignorant, cowardly, intolerant and inconsistent. And the ultimate ego tamer? Recognize that we are all on the same spiritual journey, we are just taking different paths in getting there.

    I am still struggling with self identification and it does bring up suffering. Identification with my story and how it creates rumination.
    Yesterday (and I am not sure how I did this) it all stopped. I was completely present in the moment and I watched in awe the amazing clouds in the sky. It all seemed clear. Rumination completely gone away. It lasted for about 30 minutes. It stopped when I was around other people during a bus ride.

    Hello and thanks for the ego v. Spirituality lesson.
    I have a few gripes that I'd like to lay out:
    - topic: hope, gratitude, ...
    I read 0.5 - 1 billion people will die of starvation due to covid-19 in poor countries. May not be as a direct result of covid but has an indirect (and eventually quite direct) impact on the poor.
    Now imagine a refugee sitting in a camp with his family. Let's say in central Africa. Parents look at the starving children as they die one by one. Tell me parental hope will get them anywhere. Should they be grateful for their plight?
    - Another case: two individuals. First one is grateful for having the ability to earn what's needed to take care of his or her extended family. He's hopeful and believes he can raise the children nicely. Turns out his job is an interrogator. What he does at work is unconscionable to you and I. But he thinks he's got sympathy (for his/her own fellow citizens) and the mother of the interrogator is full of gratitude, as well. Here's an instance of hope gratitude compassion working in the wrong sphere. So it is not black n white.
    Case 2 is a philosopher during a civil war. Philosopher believes in order to solve humankind's problems the focus needs to be on solving ego/spirit problems and a full understanding of the consciousness. Philosopher is not concerned with the day to day politics of the civil war and had mostly rid himself of ego and has somewhat arrived at spirituality. As the philosopher is walking down the street he notices an alley way. Upon a close look, he realizes some citizens are line up against a wall. Upon further examination, the philosopher realized among those lined up are his/her entire family and they are about to get executed. What is the philosopher to do? Beg for forgiveness, walk away, grab a gun, call for help from the opposition, etc. Should the philosopher kill all the executioners? Should it be taken a step further to kill the superiors and their superiors? How about their families, knowing that several of the army-age children are about to join the executioners' side?
    The good stuff like hope, compassion, gratitude, celebration of people's differences is not achieved by ridding one's self from ego. It's only lofty goal when you are on the sidelines. Without socio economic and political justice it's difficult to focus on gratitude when one's mother is getting raped.
    If you are apolitical you are political without knowing it. It's just that the other side has convinced you to focus on the loftier goals as regular/average Joe's are destroying others and the planet.
    - quotes from religious leaders and so-called prophets can be used in many contexts, some contradictory to others.
    Love to hear your thoughts about absence of struggles and battles required in the physical world to even have a shot at spirituality.

    • @quantumrevolutioncounselin1048
      @quantumrevolutioncounselin1048  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      First of all, thank you for your feedback and the thoughtful manner in which you asked several good questions and posed multiple good points.
      Secondly, considering the angle from which you posed those scenarios, there is nothing to disagree with. We agree. (Especially regarding the socio-economic and political justice perspective.)
      However, considering the therapeutic angle from which this video is created and intended, the content herein is regarding healing. In many cases, it's healing AFTER the scenarios that you posited. We have absolutely worked with (as well as personally lived) such traumas and tragedies, and the spiritual approach indeed is the healing approach. Gratitude, hope, forgiveness, mercy, wisdom, etc., are all antidotes for suffering, whereas the ego will attempt to maximize suffering by rejecting such virtues.
      That said, here's an important point of unifying this video with your scenarios: the spirit has a multitude of virtues in its bag. In the "it's difficult to focus on gratitude when one's mother is getting raped" scenario, that would NOT be a time for forgiveness or mercy, it would be a time for courage and justice (against the attacker) as well as compassion for one's mother. Virtues, all. Clearly, it is also in the best interest of the perp to be, shall we say, "corrected" by getting his head slammed against some concrete.
      Also, Kabbalah teachings directly address your excellent point regarding "good stuff" and "lofty goals" from a position of privilege (i.e. from the sidelines). There are reasons Jesus teaches things such as "Blessed are the persecuted in righteousness' sake." See Steve's video on that subject here: th-cam.com/video/T0V7Xzuv5-U/w-d-xo.html
      There is so much more to discuss, and it is important to us that we have explained ourselves clearly since yours were very good questions. If you have some follow-up insights or need more clarification or just want to air more "gripes," we are all ears. We truly believe in the unity of mankind if we are all willing to listen to each other better.
      (Ultimately, when one "listens" to the tao or the true spirit within, one "knows" how to act in any given situation. And it would always be virtuous.)

    I want to ask Steve if he sees this message is he still a fan of the Steelers a fan of football? I personally had to stop watching because I didn’t agree with it (when CTE, ray rice and Adrian Peterson were topics )or it was just a natural part of my evolution. It’s a violent sport the players respect and love the game and their competitors, but why would someone who is embracing spirit enjoy watching football? Curious where Steve stands on this question? I realize no one’s perfect spiritually, but does that near perfect being who is embracing spirit stop watching violent sports?
    I would say I still go to the gym and realize it’s just ego stuff to me maybe a result of being picked on as a kid or wanting to attract women or be able to defend myself but knowing full well I don’t need it(and barely want it) anymore and I could go out into the woods and just meditate 🧘‍♂️ 😅

    All the World's a stage And all the men and women merely players;
    They have their exits and their entrances;
    And one man in his time plays many parts,
    Shakespeare
    Ego= The Character we play
    Yes I think you have it right about When we focus on the physical/material world we suffer, we get caught up in the negativity, we have to deal with Duality rather than seeing or knowing or having any kind of understanding of Wholeness.
    I don't think we are here on our own terms however, I think reincarnation and the material world is a trap, a prison that we were tricked into. The body is a prison for the Spirit. The Spirit is Perfect, it didn't need to come into this prison to figure anything out.

    Because you’re not in perception, your ego is hurt. How can someone who is in perception exist and attain to divine good. That hurts a lot, so you have to offload your pain on someone else. A miserable way to live, I’ll tell you this. If that’s not so, your lacking of attaining to anything, just seems to make you feel very bitter within, and you want to step on something which is essentially divine. Why? Because somewhere you’re feeling miserable within yourself on some dimension and you want to create stories, and later erase the same, but keep it lingering around as a control mechanism to wipe your tears. But make sure of this, it won’t last for too long. So just make use of it while you still can and while things are still silent. The moment outside world happens, all that is going to happen is that you will break in ways that can’t be fixed.

  • @fourtwentythree

    I’m curious why spirits would exist in a 3-D world and not partake of the 3-D experience why not embrace the ego and enjoy it and try to amass wealth and sexual partners? realize life is suffering if you try to remove suffering are you really living? I guess this is exactly what most people do but Steve suggests there is a way to lessen your suffering but I would think that requires going to the mountains and meditating all day and rejecting societies trappings?

    How to control sex desire without sex?

    • @quantumrevolutioncounselin1048
      @quantumrevolutioncounselin1048  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      First of all, one has to be aware of the intention behind the "desire" to "control sex desire." What's the reason to do so? Secondly, sex is a metaphor for the "intercourse" that goes on between souls. When one is "filled with spirit," one's ability to "control sex desire" is enhanced. Same with all forms of addiction and mental states. The more one desires enlightenment, the less one desires things of this world as physical craving is reduced.
