Depends on how light or dark the colour is. When I paint with lighter colours, I use 2 coats and with dark, I use 1. If you use the finisher, it shouldn't wear off at all. I've worn my Air Forces everyday for almost 2 years and the paint still stayed on. Hope that helps!

If you can control it and keep it where you want it it is perfectly okay. If it fits into the section you are painting or is a smaller brush it helps with good separation
