I'm just baffled that the Mimic has not only an actually coherent explanation inside the games but also one that is satisfying from a narrative standpoint since it says that Afton isn't back and makes Henry's speech go back to being the most badass moment in the series
I mean... It not ACTUALLY being the end doesnt change the speech slapping :V ...that and, ngl, i still HIGHLY doubt Heat "destroys" Remnant, since at least 1-2 rounds we've seen it survive no issue
@@higueraft571 Afton surviving after Henry saying that hell has a special place for him kinda takes away from the moment, it's still good just not as impactful. As for fire, I'd say it definitely destroys remnant since the other spirits in the Simulator haven't appeared again (specially now with Mimic) and the fire in FNAF 3 didn't even destroy Afton's body, so it's easy to say he just got lucky and escaped
@@takeo_624 >the fire in FNAF 3 didn't even destroy Afton's body, so it's easy to say he just got lucky and escaped Except... SL very clearly establishes he didnt escape. He's buried in the rubble of a place that VERY much burned, still inside the building. And do note the wording of the single piece of info that claims it CAN be destroyed by fire... "NOTES: When heated, no observable motion. Keep in heated tank at sustained temperature. Substance should be malleable, but not more. There is a POSSIBILITY that overheating MIGHT neutralize the effects permanently." William wasnt even certain it could destroy Remnant, and he had already melted down Endos for it, and had ready access to Raw Remnant to test on. It simply states that it effectively stuns/pacifies Animatronics... like how a Controlled Shock (or generally any mechanic involving shocking them, SL and AR for example) would stun them. >since the other spirits in the Simulator haven't appeared again Honestly, this IS a bit... *tenuous*. We arent sure if anyone at ALL is alive or dead yet, even Henry or Michael (though we havent had any solid evidence at least showing Henry would still be kicking YET...) :V Most likely, we have to wait for a solid confirmation/deconfirmation for this part.
@@higueraft571 when I said "escaped" I just meant he wasn't destroyed by the fire... Sorry, bad wording About the other characters, I think we'll only know that one or the other isn't gone when they reappear in a game but I find interesting that elements post-Sim that we thought were coming from Afton or Charlie were now explained as other things, so until Ruin comes out there's no influence from them in the new plot
Aftons still back. He might not have a physical form but it doesn't mean hes not back. Even if something isn't really his remnant but just his legacy? That's still him in this universe and still the shadow of his evil A soul leaves 2 things remnant which is your own self and then what I call legacy which is the stuff you inflect from others. All the terror he flicted
I find it interesting that so many small details of the old games are still relevant to this new theory, like the antennas on baby, or the 4 dots in the closets on the SL map. if those are seriously important lore bits that would still be important 7 years later, that's really impressive.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but no piece of media has done that minuscule of hinting, especially almost a decade later where they didn’t know if they were gonna end the series or not in 2015
@@DefNotMyBurner i know, i never understood this idea that everything was somehow planned out super far in advance whenever they’re just taking small details that had no/little significance and are just reworking it into something new. i still think its cool when they do that, but i dislike the idea that it was all planned out on such a granular level lmao
@@DefNotMyBurner yes, all those details weren't planned infact. But what is still awesome - is that they seriously look back and rework those small details into lore-important stuff.
I genuinely love the "What? Hell yeah! What?" whiplash I get from these theories. I love how bonkers things get and I love how well John backs up the theories.
Like the way he presents things. Kinda opposite to game theory and similar way my brain functions, chaotic all over and pulls from all over to give ahhah moment.
I like to imagine The Mimic saw Afton’s murders whilst in the Freddy’s locations before being found, shocked by the level of violence and cruelty. From then on, it’s A.I. became obsessed with becoming Afton and eventually spread its A.I. to computers after being scanned in, creating his “mimic”. It then convinces Vanny to find it and bring him Afton’s charred corpse so it can basically play dress up as Afton and try to become his perfect mirror image. EDIT: there are two mimic programs, one seems to be the one controlling the pizzaplex that mimics Edwin’s son (charlie, this explains the nightmare puppet robots and the black and white wires) and one that is mimicking Afton. This is based on a thought I had and matpats new Ruin teaser theory.
tbh it would make sense since that damn bastard is infact VERY DEAD as indicated by the Ultimate Custom Night and how some of the animatronics talk to you after your death by them
@@b.a.r.f1004 best I can guess is that her determination to punish the ever living SHIT out of Afton must have been quite POWERFUL to the point that she was able to craft the ultimate custom night area and trapped afton within it, souls are fickle things after all
FuhNaff surpassed GT when MatPat made it clear he doesn't enjoy fnaf content and just started spinning up shitty fanfic. FuhNaff has genuine interest where GT was sold for money and spends 10% of every video shilling cheap merch.
Random thing, but the Mimic also explains why current animatronics have so developed personalities. They simply mimic real people very well. This would also mean that each animatronic is kind of "unique" and hard to replicate and that's why for example Glamrock Bonnie was completly scrapped - they couldn't remake him. But it also kinda breaks Vanessa's line "I'll just slap your casing onto another endo" but it might have been just empty threat.
If i remember right, the explanation is generally that they simply Trained the AIs, alas nothing with Mimic involved, as far as we know? We DO know Mimic likely amplified what was already there though...
@@higueraft571 One of the stories implies (the dissassembling people endo) that there were several "mimicking endos". I assumed they were later used for the main cast. Also, we don't exactly know how the AIs are trained. Maybe they're just shown certain behaviour they're supposed to follow? Or maybe they develop on their own over time?
The “mimicing real people” can’t be true if Freddy had a real friendship with Bonnie. You can’t really be friends with someone else by watching how another is friends with them.
As someone who has no interest in FNAF and just likes listening to theory TH-camrs in the background, I am constantly amazed and impressed by this community. The lore confuses me to no end, and I don’t even try to understand it, so I’ll just keep hanging out in the background and giving y’all a thumbs up. Edit: thanks everyone!
I’ve only played the 1 2 3 and 4 and I learned a lot about the lord and it’s not that hard actually it’s only hard when you were there when the games were being made which I was which it took years so I guess it wasn’t easy either
Honestly this theory makes everything click into place for me. I know a lot of people think this makes the story more convoluted, but I feel like it actually makes parts of the lore that were confusing or didn’t feel right finally make sense.
I know a lot people are WAY too harsh and critical of your videos but for what it's worth I find them really fun and compelling. I love the way you look at things through such a unique and different perspective. Don't let the trolls ruin your fun and keep making great videos!
I always liked the idea that Afton never actually escaped hell and that Glitchtrap was a separate entity, although that does mean that Cassidy is probably too busy to deal with Glitchtrap, and in fact may not even give a hoot, as long as the real William is burning then they are content
Thank god! I was actually hoping for awhile Glitchtrap was going to be a separate entity and NOT Afton himself coming back from literal hell. But before theories and then the eventual arrival of Burntrap seem to prove otherwise. But thank god that could be a red hairing and Glitchtrap hopefully set to have better writing and being a separate character that is just taking inspiration- or in this case.. Mimic- after William Afton. There is just so much more potential in Glitchtrap as both a character and a villain, other than just being written the actual purple man himself casually coming back from forever torture and pissing off the angry Golden bear again.
I always thought so, he Just made a backup version of his mind and died, it's like a clone, It is Just like you in every way, but you are still you, so you're not reborn in The clone when you die
This sounds just as insane as it also sounds coherent. CharlieDoor? Really? If this theory doesn't happen to be true then that's a biggest, fattest line of coincidences in the entirety of this game's lore
@@OrtonLongGaming fazbear frights is absolute canon because these thing exist as book ingame universe the question if that person written these books did put everything as did happen or he did edit to make better
Having seen an actually very good thread on twitter with all the proof of The Mimic, I DO think this was planned for years, but was not executed perfectly. However I honestly really like this idea and direction. I don't mind more sci-fi elements and I like it better than just Afton coming back.
I honestly love this theory of Mimic. It destroys the fact that Afton has came back. I was never in favor of having Willtrap back alive again because it would have ruined the best ending of entire FNAF-verse; the UCN ending. Henry's speech was just badass. Also, don't give a damn about the people who cries on theories. You focus on your own work and you are doing a great job. Love your theoies.
I feel like this whole mimic thing is more of a fact than a theory i mean its literslly stated in the books but yeah this is much better henrys plan wasnt for nothing william is in hell the souls are free and yeah its just much better than afton coming back
I'm really glad you're covering Security Breach. Ever since I saw the Nightmarionne plushies and puppet plushies in really weird places during peoples' playthroughs, I always thought it was so strange. I figured, "Well, if anybody can figure a reason for these it'll be MatPat or Dawko," but nothing came of it. It wasn't until you brought it up that it actually came to light for other theorists! Ever since I saw you during one of the theory talks I've loved tuning in to your theories, because you cover stuff I've seen NOBODY else talk about. Thanks for bringing your fresh takes to the table! 💖 It's even changing how I've seen FNAF as a whole and makes me excited to see other theorists' videos, too!

He said (not verbatim) that he wanted Charlie and the Puppet off the table SO much that he essentially had blinders on to all the clues in SB that they were still present.
Actually this made me realize, baby being a mimic could explain one more thing. We all know about the scooper, a giant spoon who’s sole purpose is to gut out animatronics. So let’s say baby one day got scooped just for regular maintenance and was sent back out, then she proceeds to meet a little girl who looks an awful lot like her, so she does what she’s programmed to do: mimic. That could be why baby decided to kill elizabeth, she was just instinctively following the mimic programming. I really like this theory and it seems to explain and solve a lot. Good job :)
I've been a part of this FNaF thing since the first game in 2014 and I have NEVER watched a video like this with my jaw open nearly the whole time. I can't believe you made something this crazy actually sound possible for this franchise. My hat goes off to you!
I saw you tweet a few days ago about how you were nervous to post this theory because of possible backlash - your videos are always amazing dude, your theories and perspectives are always so refreshing to listen to and really give you something to think about. This is one is no different, congrats on another job well done o7
You've single handedly revived my faith in the storyline. Everything up until this video made next to no sense, sounded like grasping for straws or attempting to justify a mess. Buf i love this. I seriously _love_ this, and few videos have made me feel both extremely proud, invested or uplifted in a concept. Amazing!!
This is an awesome theory John!! I have a lot of thoughts on it: 1. In the Character Encyclopedia, Burntrap is noted as "Not canon name" which I think further confirms that it's a mimic. I've been skeptical about Burntrap being Afton since seeing this in the Encyclopedia so I'm pretty much on board with it NOT being William. Maybe William's spirit is actually still in purgatory with Cassidy and that's why Cassidy is only seen in Princess quest while so many other familiar faces return! 2. "The Blob" is also not a canon name according to the character encyclopedia. Maybe that's setting it up to reveal that it's really just another form of Elizabeth? 3. Looking back at the Patient 46 tapes and knowing that it's Gregory has risen a LOT of questions in my head. You mentioned how the toy animatronics are sensitive to light, and it comes up multiple times in the tapes that Gregory also hates bright lights. (And the Pizzaplex has no windows, an interesting design choice...) 4. The Mimic definitely seems like it could explain the two Vannessas in that one cutscene... Perhaps the point of the cutscene is to further emphasize the Mimic's importance to Security Breach? Anyway, awesome video, looking forward to seeing how much Ruin confirms/denies !!
you know something funny, look helpy page is very suspicious is talk like the helpy is the worst thing ever in fnaf, and think who write this is very embarrassed and angry, helpy is Michael creation to resemblance funtime freddy, now think who could it be that embarrassed and angry by see this thing at the point its considerate the absolute worst thing(considering children get kill and dying horrendous form and bizarre forms)........younger brother of Michael,A.K Crying Child this book is written by him
I think William still being in purgatory while the mimic is the new villain but like William Afton reborn is a much better because it actually makes more sense.
I actually really like the idea of a Mimic existing, living and trying to recreate the past (would explain why it isnt actively trying to push forward. I mean why would he build a corpse bot for himself and abandon his digital form? When it gives him access to resources to rebuild his family properly). Could Gregory be a mimic though.... since it could mimic the crying child and use an illusion disk, but evolved to start having his own thoughts? P.S. If it is a mimic, i dont think its Afton's corpse considering the time that has passed. It could possibly be the unknown resident in the pizza plex (in the secret daycare room). We never find out what happens to him, except possibly dieing. BUT the mimic could use his corpse to be closer to afton, since it was a male in similar stature to Afton (not a copy, but close. Thus it needed to burn him and make them look like Afton's corpse).
I'm so glad you started doing theories in addition to covering fnaf news, this is now one of those channels that I'm excited to see or hear uploaded something.
i think this is really good it lines up with what is most important about the books they arent 1-1 with the game lore, theyre parallel the mimic isnt the literal story of the games, it makes sense for it to be parallel to henry’s story
i don't think is henry story serious because there is absolute contradiction in because if this is Elizabeth bot and henry design so who is the owner of fazbear or even made the glamrock and better why is Blob being manipulated by elizaberth if she gets kicked out of Ennard because she isn't strong enough to handle the dark remnant? serious the entire fnaf theory community is burning because of mimic
@@Skibbutz books exist inside the in-game world of fnaf serious they are sell by fazbear entertainment , why i can confirm this look to fnaf 3....that thing is a horror house
Honestly, the Mimic is a great method to overcome the critisicms of Help Wanted and Security Breach. Afton is still burning in Hell, eternally tormented by the One He Should Not Have Killed. This isn't Afton, just a grim simulation given life by a machine designed to mimic whatever it sees. I hope this is the route they are really going.
9:10 HOLY S H I T. No matter how crazy the theory, no matter how doubtful you my be about anything FuhNaff made, you cannot deny the DISCOVERIES this man has found. @@purplecat6578 Ahem... Scott has already stated that the books ARE canon to the games, but the continuity is separate. Or "Same universe, different events".
@@higueraft571 Then again, he *did* say something along the lines of that the books are meant to clear everything up since the main timeline was janky and all that
@@higueraft571 I thought that it was like a multiverse sort of thing. That they didn’t take place in the same universe, but can be seen as parallel to each other
I love that you're willing to consider and put out these theories that do sound crazy. It makes us think more about what we're seeing and consider parallels more instead of sticking to hard facts. Plus they're just fun and easier to follow than those that try to build a single complete, logical story between all the games and books. I always considered that up until SL, fnaf was about dead kids and haunting and with SL it pivoted into a new story of AI and corrupting animatronics.
If this is true, then I actually like the idea of the transition away from child soul-fueled bots to more artificial intelligence. I've said somewhere before, that one scene near the beginning of SB of Roxy freaking out, having an identity crisis is likely the most interesting moment of that game, and it's barely touched on. So it'd be great to see future games devote more time to AIs having meltdowns, over being built solely to entertain children, over seeing their friends like Bonnie be taken apart or abandoned without a second thought by humans, their friends losing their free-will and attacking them like what happened to Freddy and Gregory, there are a LOT of ways to go from here and I'd be all for it.
It seems like the completion of the transition from supernatural horror to sci-fi horror with supernatural elements that the series has been going through since SL. No more ghosts, just rogue robots and AI corrupted by the pain and hatred infused into their programming.
But there should be a mix imo like possibly the vengeful spirit/Cassidy returning to stop more children getting murdered since it wasn’t set freed in FNAF 6 or 3 the golden Freddy soul set free was the bite victim and the fun times combined into molten Freddy with the souls of the children that were disassembled golden Freddy not included so she could return and be set free???
My only issue with this is that it relies very heavily on the silver eyes books which have been stated to only be loosely connected so the baby and Charlie stuff I’m iffy about but the burnttrap stuff works and I feel that ruin needs to give us a reason for it all cause so far there has always been a character motive for the events that occur
Yeah the first part of the story makes sense, but i'd need a bit more to be convinced of a lot of the baby stuff, it's very loose compared to the more direct references with Glitchtrap.
@@JustABroom agreed. Really the only things I could agree from the theory other than BURNTRAP possibly being parts of Glam bonnie(though at the same time for all we know glam bonnie could also be alive and somewhere else without a leg and such.) the Charlie bots and Elizabeth stuff is just… nah it doesn’t sell well for me.
@@SubZero-hs9xc I know the mimic1 stuff comes from the new books but half his points about Charlie and baby are based on things seen in the silver eyes and I just don’t think the connections are that strong I agree that Charlie and baby might be there in some capacity but I think it’s very clear that mimic1 is heavily linked to glitchtrap and burnttrap so I don’t get why he’s so insistent on baby and the Elizebeth bots and even if it were the case it’s very clear from the books that robot kids were Henry’s MO and that William couldn’t replicate it and was forced to use illusion discs
I'm a BIT unsure about the whole Henry/Edwin connection because I feel like the Mimic storyline is so well-liked because it's very original compared to a lot of other books. I can definitely see the connection in some places, but there are also huge differences that continue to make the Mimic story unique.
This Theory makes me excited for the Ruin DLC and what the future games will hold. It's also really amazing that Mendo was mentioned and noticed after so long, I think he is a really cool character!
13:00 oh, and dont forget about how the staff bots located in this area look like nightmarrionne, the evil charlie. if thats not enough, theres nightmarrionne plushies located EVERYWHERE throughout the pizzaplex, which might just mean that charlies soul is present there.
Ok I really like the idea that an AI has replicated/mimicked William. It makes more sense (to me at least) than William’s remnant/agony/soul/personality fused to a computer disc and then was uploaded to a computer and became sentient.
I think you're very correct with this theory. And something I remembered while watching was steel wool saying that there are still secrets that people haven't found in security breach. And Bonnie's leg was probably one of them.
I love this man. Never before have I felt so satisfied listening to a theory than when I watch John's videos. It all just ties together neatly, something I don't find often with MatPat's videos. Nice job.
I really like the Mimic 1 being Glitchtrap, that’s a really cool idea. However, I also think that it’s a bit weird to cover TWO antagonists. It’s a bit messy. I think ONE of them is right, and it seems to be pointing to the baby animatronic based on the books. Though in-game, glitchtrap makes more sense. Gah, so confusing!! Great theory though :D
Mimic1 is an actual character in a book series that was directly told to us by Scott to be game canon. But nah, you believe the Baby robot theories more... ofc lmfao
@@moonknightanimations1251 i havent read any of the books lol, i dont have the time or money for that. @@SW-rd6bg Mimic1 and the Mimic endo are from a series called Tales From The Pizzaplex. The exact same series as GGY, a story that is 100% canon to the games. Just like how the Epilogue's and the other stories the Mimic is in are 100% game canon. For context, the stories were said to take place in the untold corners of the FNAF universe. And so far that's exactly what the books have been, telling new stories set in the game universe. Some 100000% canon to the games, and some loosely connect to the games if at all.

I don’t understand how there can STILL be more theories about this game and I’m JUST as excited!! Also, in the room where there were the cutouts of different animatronics in security breach, baby was hiding in the shadows. Haven’t seen the theorists talk about it, but I have always thought baby would end up being the final boss

When you said that you would poop yourself if you got anything right, that got a big chuckle and I really needed it. Thank you. :)
thats crazy how the mimic pretty much solves everything in security breach. it sucks people have to read books to get that information though so hopefully its in the DLC. i really do agree that this has to be the story scott was origin going with when he making sister location, fnaf world, and into madness.
Since there’s no punctuation in the code, I think it could be “I built the breath they hunt now” talking about how Michael or William created the Gregory robot
Wasn't convinced by some of your latest theories, but there's some great observations in this one. That part with the four closets in Sister Location blew my mind
your theories are always my favorite.. every time i watch fnaf theory videos im hyper vigilant for holes or things that could point differently but you really cover all your bases and make sure everything fits in a way that i really admire and enjoy hearing! it feels like i see my own passion for the games reflected back in you and im grateful hahaha
The idea you're talking about at 3:06 is what fascinates me most about FNAF. Because it's not just these storylines and characters - you can see themes and roles and narratives recursively iterating over and over again from the beginning of the franchise. The FNAF story is told less about characters and more about Figures of Power(and it kind of makes sense to do it this way, with Scott's background in religious allegorical fiction). Think of a Figure of Power like a chess piece. You can look at, for example, a knight. You simultaneously understand that A) the piece you are holding is an individual item, distinct from the knight pieces in other chess sets, but that B) those other knights in those other chess sets move and behave on their game board the same way this knight moves on this gameboard. To make things more complicated, you also know that C) this particular knight has played in multiple games of chess before, and can continue to play with the same behavior as many times as the board is set up, AND D) you could, if necessary, swap this knight piece with any of those other knight pieces on any of those other chess boards and the game would still be valid as long as they kept moving in the same way. We passively juggle this kind of information in the back of our minds all the time, but it can become real confusing real fast when trying to grapple with in a series of video games + books. In the FNAF universe, Remnant/Agony is basically storage for "knowledge of the rules of chess", and our pieces are things like "the inventor parent", "the dead child" "the haunted machine", etc. And to reiterate, this is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE thing about the series. As the granddaddy of mascot horror, this storytelling style is baked right into the genre's concept. A mascot is something inherently designed to be replicated in every store location while keeping a brand identity. Using that concept for a ghost story is just. *chefs kiss*
Okay but dude you are just as smart as MatPat and you seem to be working alone- you are absolutely stellar at this! Steel Wool better watch out, this dude is gonna uncover all the lore with the help of Game Theory.
At this point? I’m willing to bet all the theories from the first game are half the reason even fnaf 2 exists, never mind the recent games. They’ve been going along with the theorists since day one lol
@@erinbeaud4556 it's no secret that Scott was making up the story as he went and it is true that he took influence from some theories but it was still clear that he had his own story that was being told through the games
@@erinbeaud4556 yep, and just tweak one or two things to make it seem like the theorists were close but barely off. Hence why FNAF 4 pretty much got retconned bc no one like the dream theory, which it clearly was
One thing I think is important to remember: we are dealing with parallells. At 16:30 i feel like you're 90% of the way there. Tiger head story teller = Freddy head in the basement. But if you're keeping it 1 to 1, to see what mimic was copying, you should be looking for the person walking around with a freddy plush all the time. Aka crying child from fnaf 4.
Holy shit why does all of this make so much sense? It fits way better than I ever would have expected. Amazing theory and I hope it pans out because it makes SB a much better story and worldbuilding!
My only issue with these theories is that, it feels that if true, it completely fazes out the paranormal, aspects of Fnaf, replacing it with sci fi artificial intelligence. I liked the weird and supernatural aspect of Williams agony, being what created Glitchtrap and bringing him back as well as the aspect of the blob, being the leftover agony of the children still remaining in their suits. It feels like the concept of remnant and agony was just being fleshed out, only for it to have no aspect relevance in the story anymore. I hope we get a twist inside of a twist and as the Mimic and Vanny kills more kids and more agony is created, it will eventually be enough to allow the remains of William the mimic is puppeteering, to awaken and the real William will return and sort of battle with the Mimic for control over his body. Heck maybe even having the mimic get kick out and forced into another body as William fully awakens. Anything that can bring relevance to his character again and atleast, keep the supernatural elements alive.
@Sub Zero That was Glitchtrap and according to the theories and recent Tales from the Pizza Plex novel he is an ai called the Mimic, impersonating William Afton
Loved this theory! It makes a lot of sense, and as a fan who's followed this franchise for years, it's nice to hear a new theory & new thoughts instead of the same 10 ideas over and over. Your theories never disappoint!
If The Mimic stuff ends up canon then it'll be nice. FNAF 6's ending won't be worthless anymore as we can confirm that Afton officially died in that fire, now forever damned in UCN and Glitchtrap/Burntrap is The Mimic trying to emulate Afton. I'm gonna miss the Peepaw Afton memes tho....
I have to say, I love that things are shaping up to make it so that William Afton himself truly is gone for good, and all of these new threats, Glitchtrap, Vanny, Burntrap, are imitations. Really makes suspension of disbelief a lot easier imo
nope William "I always comes back" SERIOUS is not even him at this point waiting to live and just cassidy will never this bastard die and cassidy is 100% impossible to rest so yeah next 10 games will about william just back ahahahahah
I love father's in this franchise "Oh, my kid wants my attention over me working, better build a robot to play with my son" You know, instead of building a robot to do his job so he can be with his son
I originally planned on waiting for the book series to wrap up before diving in, but I couldn't resist - I really want to know what's the hype all about!
I think the mimic idea & Burntrap are great but as a fan of the books I don't believe that the Charlie bot can possibly be there. The fourth closet introduces us to a lot of ideas of which are very important, however it also shows the circus baby & the final Charlie bot are the same which means there's no way it could be as the we circus baby's head in the pile of the blob, soul free and put to rest, also the bot was stabbed at the end of the book series so even without the tie to it being Circus baby that bot still dead! XD
The end of the video: "If any of this ends up true, I will poop myself." The ad that played after the video ended: "Stop trying to poop. That is *not* how you relieve constipation." ...I now regret skipping that ad.
I think with Fuhnaff's deductive research skills I think they'd be able to create their own fnaf fan concept with just enough experience to make it unique enough to feel like a new game but still be inspired by fnaf
Definitely your best theory yet! It makes me so excited to see new people with new perspectives, really makes this franchise feel fresh, long after jt should’ve stagnated.
Wait, Edwin and David aren’t real, but the abandoned factory was real? I definitively agree that Edwin seems to be a parallel of the silver eyes version of Henry, but the Silver Eyes version of Henry isn’t real in the game timeline anyway. Charlie dies and inhabits the puppet. There is no Charlie bot. The Mimic, however, can fill some of the Charlie bot roles. We know that Edwin cried into the tiger plush, much like the Ella doll. We also know that Fazbear acquires and copies the Mimic. So, it’s quite possible that the Funtimes (and toys) may have used some of that stolen technology. On the subject of the Mimic, we hear that it has had a replacement head in the epilogues, and we see the tiger head contains the mimic1 code in storyteller.
Some things may be different, but the overall theory holds up very well. The secret code could also be from Michael putting Baby back together, but it works either way. The books agree that the broken animatronics are put in the sewers, which matches up with the SB and the theory. Also, Charliebot from the stories is sort of obsessed with a plushie. This is a really good theory.
I think Elizabeth/circus baby/ scrap baby is the mimic for a few reasons.a: we see suits in the mimics room,in sister location,on night four,Elizabeth puts Michael in a spring lock suit.B: During the ennard boss fight we hear Elizabeth speaking, which is impossible due to the fact she’s dead, also, none of the Funtimes would be able to hear her speak,if Willam didn’t let her see one murderous animatronic,he wouldn’t let her see the others.Only Circus baby heard her.C: Scrap baby was in bad condition, but she could probably survive a fire, with a lot of damage sure, but she could survive.D: We can see circus baby has a endo with human looking teeth,we can see the sb mimic has alike looking teeth. This isn’t really a reason, but Circus baby was made to kill kids,Cassie is a kid.

I'm just baffled that the Mimic has not only an actually coherent explanation inside the games but also one that is satisfying from a narrative standpoint since it says that Afton isn't back and makes Henry's speech go back to being the most badass moment in the series
I mean... It not ACTUALLY being the end doesnt change the speech slapping :V

@@takeo_624 >the fire in FNAF 3 didn't even destroy Afton's body, so it's easy to say he just got lucky and escaped
Except...
There is a POSSIBILITY that overheating MIGHT neutralize the effects permanently."
William wasnt even certain it could destroy Remnant, and he had already melted down Endos for it, and had ready access to Raw Remnant to test on.
It simply states that it effectively stuns/pacifies Animatronics... like how a Controlled Shock (or generally any mechanic involving shocking them, SL and AR for example) would stun them.
>since the other spirits in the Simulator haven't appeared again
Honestly, this IS a bit... *tenuous*. We arent sure if anyone at ALL is alive or dead yet, even Henry or Michael (though we havent had any solid evidence at least showing Henry would still be kicking YET...) :V
Most likely, we have to wait for a solid confirmation/deconfirmation for this part.
@@higueraft571 when I said "escaped" I just meant he wasn't destroyed by the fire... Sorry, bad wording
About the other characters, I think we'll only know that one or the other isn't gone when they reappear in a game but I find interesting that elements post-Sim that we thought were coming from Afton or Charlie were now explained as other things, so until Ruin comes out there's no influence from them in the new plot
Aftons still back. He might not have a physical form but it doesn't mean hes not back.
Even if something isn't really his remnant but just his legacy? That's still him in this universe and still the shadow of his evil
A soul leaves 2 things remnant which is your own self and then what I call legacy which is the stuff you inflect from others. All the terror he flicted
I find it interesting that so many small details of the old games are still relevant to this new theory, like the antennas on baby, or the 4 dots in the closets on the SL map. if those are seriously important lore bits that would still be important 7 years later, that's really impressive.

@@higueraft571 mimic is copying everyone using their souls or should say Golden Freddy/Shadow Freddy/Shadow Bonnie

reminds me of that story about the kid turning himself into a animatronic i guess that was also a big metaphor for the mimic
The “mimicing real people” can’t be true if Freddy had a real friendship with Bonnie. You can’t really be friends with someone else by watching how another is friends with them.

Good job :)

This is an awesome theory John!!
I have a lot of thoughts on it:
(And the Pizzaplex has no windows, an interesting design choice...)
4. The Mimic definitely seems like it could explain the two Vannessas in that one cutscene... Perhaps the point of the cutscene is to further emphasize the Mimic's importance to Security Breach?
Anyway, awesome video, looking forward to seeing how much Ruin confirms/denies !!

Pretty sure the whole, "Not a canon name" thing is because they were named and coined by fans.
Thus it needed to burn him and make them look like Afton's corpse).

i think this is really good
it lines up with what is most important about the books
they arent 1-1 with the game lore, theyre parallel
the mimic isnt the literal story of the games, it makes sense for it to be parallel to henry’s story
i don't think is henry story serious because there is absolute contradiction in because if this is Elizabeth bot and henry design so who is the owner of fazbear or even made the glamrock and better why is Blob being manipulated by elizaberth if she gets kicked out of Ennard because she isn't strong enough to handle the dark remnant?

Plus they're just fun and easier to follow than those that try to build a single complete, logical story between all the games and books. I always considered that up until SL, fnaf was about dead kids and haunting and with SL it pivoted into a new story of AI and corrupting animatronics.
This is wild, my entire theory was just afton came back and the blob is just cassidy going after afton to finish the job
It all makes sense to why in the character encyclopedia it calls out the fact Burntrap is not his for sure name…because it’s The Mimic!
I agree. The glamrock animatronics are the most sapient animatronics in the whole series that arent posses by souls

More people need to hear about that, first time I’ve ever heard it
I got really sad during the video because we recently lost our dog and it's been hitting me at random points. I was in a full blown sob fit and then decided to finish the video. When you said that you would poop yourself if you got anything right, that got a big chuckle and I really needed it. Thank you. :)
ok
im sorry about your dog :(
Hope you’ve been doing ok, and if not I hope you can soon
thats crazy how the mimic pretty much solves everything in security breach. it sucks people have to read books to get that information though so hopefully its in the DLC.
i really do agree that this has to be the story scott was origin going with when he making sister location, fnaf world, and into madness.
Since there’s no punctuation in the code, I think it could be “I built the breath they hunt now” talking about how Michael or William created the Gregory robot
i like that these books aren’t afraid to kill anyone, it’s refreshing really, it’s not all cookie cutter “it was all okay in the end”
Dude... Its was awesome
This was such a cool explanation I hope you get to eat your favorite dish soon
Involving FNAF world in a serious theory and it making sense is crazy
Okay but dude you are just as smart as MatPat and you seem to be working alone- you are absolutely stellar at this! Steel Wool better watch out, this dude is gonna uncover all the lore with the help of Game Theory.
I'm sure FNAF writers at this point just write what they want and make the community do the leg work of connecting the dots.
At this point? I’m willing to bet all the theories from the first game are half the reason even fnaf 2 exists, never mind the recent games. They’ve been going along with the theorists since day one lol
Thebooks where written a long ago
@@erinbeaud4556 it's no secret that Scott was making up the story as he went and it is true that he took influence from some theories but it was still clear that he had his own story that was being told through the games
@@erinbeaud4556 they are not even 1%
@@erinbeaud4556 yep, and just tweak one or two things to make it seem like the theorists were close but barely off.
That would actually lead to the Greg bot theory.
Got to see some of your mimic ideas on your recent livestream, great to finally see the full vid!
at this point i want NO answers to be given and fnaf be left anticlimatically unanswered
LITERALLY 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE RELEASE HE FIGURED IT OUT
Holy shit why does all of this make so much sense?
That is exactly what I would make happen in the dlc
That was the point of the princess quest minigame
William that was breaking gree
I think in dlc we will playing with susie after Gregory send help message to one of friends after he fail to contain his dad
@Sub Zero That was Glitchtrap and according to the theories and recent Tales from the Pizza Plex novel he is an ai called the Mimic, impersonating William Afton
@@LordDiscord nope, there manys facts is Gregory the Mimic than glitchtrap
I love that you find all kinds of inconspicuous assets in Security Breach that help make modern FNAF make more sense.
Always so excited when you upload!! I can't wait to watch this!!
You got to remember this is the theory it's just a theory it isn't fact until the DLC comes and confirms the theory I'm not going to believe it
This is very compelling and lined up with a lot of things and it’s also nice for ppl who don’t wanna buy the books (me)
in the ruin there's concrete wall we have to break before entering mimic's room! (6:54)
But in the new dlc it doesn’t look like the Mimic
@@AntShane7 nah its mimic
@@luuyo1285 it looks nothing like it
@@AntShane7 we dont have official look of the mimic? this is the first one ??
@M1nty_VR The ear part and shoulder part resembles The mimic
oh no we're counting toes
This video is nuts and I hope you're partially right about most of this. I want to see this series get even more complicated and confusing
It's scary how insane this whole video is but it somehow makes sense. Seriously this story is just nuts at this point and honestly I think I like it
I love hearing your theories they make so much since to me, and I think you're on the right track. I can't wait to see MatPats' response to this one
I love father's in this franchise
"Oh, my kid wants my attention over me working, better build a robot to play with my son"
You know, instead of building a robot to do his job so he can be with his son
Watching this after the RUIN DLC just connects everything.
XD
The fact I switched from a fnaf theory vid straight onto this when I got the notif 😂
me too 🫨
The end of the video: "If any of this ends up true, I will poop myself."
The ad that played after the video ended: "Stop trying to poop. That is *not* how you relieve constipation."
...I now regret skipping that ad.
oh boy just wait for people to finish fnaf ruins and come back to this video.
The Mimic is probably the coolest thing from fnaf to me in a while tbh. I’m really fascinated by it
I think with Fuhnaff's deductive research skills I think they'd be able to create their own fnaf fan concept with just enough experience to make it unique enough to feel like a new game but still be inspired by fnaf
Why do say they? I'm pretty sure he's just one dude
Definitely your best theory yet! It makes me so excited to see new people with new perspectives, really makes this franchise feel fresh, long after jt should’ve stagnated.
At this point FNAF's story is so complicated I can't find it in myself to care anymore.

David running onto the I-90/94 isnt even that wild😅
I knew for a fact he was going to bring up the FNAF World Mimic. I spotted that link too
Wait, Edwin and David aren’t real, but the abandoned factory was real?
I definitively agree that Edwin seems to be a parallel of the silver eyes version of Henry, but the Silver Eyes version of Henry isn’t real in the game timeline anyway.
Charlie dies and inhabits the puppet. There is no Charlie bot. The Mimic, however, can fill some of the Charlie bot roles. We know that Edwin cried into the tiger plush, much like the Ella doll. We also know that Fazbear acquires and copies the Mimic. So, it’s quite possible that the Funtimes (and toys) may have used some of that stolen technology.
On the subject of the Mimic, we hear that it has had a replacement head in the epilogues, and we see the tiger head contains the mimic1 code in storyteller.
think is Edwin is William parallel and gregory is the mimic it feels to better narative
@@darkpain2452 what in the shit is this theory...?
Just finished the ruin dlc. Pretty spot on outside of the bonnie thing. ( most likely, bonnies broken body is in the game) mimic is in a concrete sealed room, and in the scooper secret ending hes wearing a tiger/lion costume.
His body is behind the bowling alley iirc
