While a legal opinion from the Michigan Supreme Court in 1919 says "There should be no confusion... A business corporation is organized and carried on primarily for the profit of the stockholders." It is commonly asserted that the case established a precedent that managers had to maximize shareholder profit, but the status of the court's statement on the topic is disputed, with some legal scholars arguing that it constitutes obiter dicta, or judicial comments that lack binding force."
The idea that CEO's have this legal obligation to maximize profit comes from an Article Milton Friedman wrote in 1970, but it has actually never been a *legally required* that CEO operate to maximize profit, this is simply an ideology that has taken hold, especially after Jack Welsh took over General Electric and changed the idea of what a 'good corporation' does.

3:46 While watching this, I had a realization.
What if the Animatronics behavior to adults isn’t anger, but rather them missing their parents?
As children, they already probably don’t have the best control over their animatronic, so if they feel strong emotions like sadness or longing, it could cause them to lose control completely.
This isn’t them being mad at all adults for what happened to them, it’s them being sad at what was taken from them.

    • @robxholicfoxyfan8552
      @robxholicfoxyfan8552 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

Perhaps. They do just stare, and the only one attacked was likely Jeremy so it's not impossible. The animatronics being against the night guards makes sense, but the parents should also be safe because they would be around the kids obviously as parents. As we see from even the books, ghost kids do know most of who to target or not. They will be fine around parents but not around someone with a knife or potential weapon. Susie knew her parents and sister still. And Gabriel protects other kids even with just his hallow head. The parents should absolutely be safe, as should most of the kids (Mangle probably doesn't like the smaller ones much but I don't think they hate children outright). So it may be uncomfortable to people but the Toys likely aren't violent to obvious parents. And with the karma of Fazbear Frights, it's more often an issue of people needing a lesson learned, and that's more like the shadows than the actual animatronics even if the animatronics are used as a vessel for it. Even Andrew has little interest with other people and doesn't want them to die despite being very vengeful and also isolated.

Fazbear Entertainment not originally being associated to William or Henry, makes SO MUCH SENSE! I definitely believe William “convinced” Henry to branch out and had a third company come into play. The audio definitely feels like a shareholder asking Afton about the animatronics.
This was a GREAT video!! It just feels right with Henry loving the creation and entertainment aspect, yet William only sees the business. Awesome job!

I think you’re trying to fit some evidence from later stories. Effectively Scott did soft reboots reframing the story and its depth. The first story was 1-3 but then he tried to make Afton and Henry distinct names characters and that required some growing pains

    • @rosevelvet29
      @rosevelvet29 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@@loganentertainment1814 Maybe we can even go a bit further if we go further back into the origins of Freddy's & Fredbear's, going back to Fall Fest. During PAX where that playable demo was available of TSOTM, there was also many posters & decorations of many different characters, like the Mediocre Melodies & never-seen-before characters, like the suits in the Mimic's area, & the patched-together suit it makes from different ones. If the history of Freddy's goes back to 1979 Fall Fest, or even further back (not to forget Fall Fest 1983 or other dates I may be forgetting from posters & things in games). Some have pointed out the "clown" paper pal from FNAF 2, & Game Theory even made a video theorizing that there was a third partner between Henry & William, inspired by traditional clown archetypes, including a clown that's role was to mimic another. I'm not sure where I stand on this theory, but maybe there was a larger investor or share holder, maybe we can even speculate it was the man in the SL intro, who was brought in very early on & invested into Fall Fest, or maybe another company, like a carnival or costume performer company, that collaborated w/ or sponsored Fall Fest

The image of William Afton fearlessly taking down an animatronic is really funny. He might know their range of motion and how best to disable them, but it is still a funny idea. He basically jumpscares them.
Something that continues to bug me; why they would discontinue the Toys if OG Foxy caused the bite of 87? Alternatively, why would they stop allowing the OGs to free roam if one of the Toys caused the bite?

    • @CottonCandySharks
      @CottonCandySharks หลายเดือนก่อน +32

For free roaming, I think they don't "allow" it, they can't stop it. But to pretend like it's all intentional and the security guard has nothing to worry about, they say it's part of their programing.
Or their servos really do lock up if they don't move.

    • @zlbproductions7340
      @zlbproductions7340 หลายเดือนก่อน +20

The main non-Bite explanation for canning the Toys would be that upkeep on them has to be *way* too expensive for a place that was open for about two weeks to properly make a profit from. They probably *had* to scrap them and reuse the older, less advanced models, cuz they're cheaper to deal with, and they didn't have the money to keep the Toys up to date without an open location after *already* being at a monetary loss from their creation.
Still, I personally think the Bite is a clear catalyst for them to be trashed ASAP, even if the rest of this still applies. And the free roaming rule would have to be a universal thing, not just applied to the specific model of robot that did it.

I definitely believe this theory as it helps explain Henry and Williams absence and why William does what he does so strangely. The only thing I would want to mention is that it takes until the 5th night to notice that Springbonnie was used. Ralph wording also seems to me like Springbonnie was there until right before that recording. We "had" a spare in the back. Couple this with the fact that we don't see Afton wear a springlock during the DCI. It makes me think he didn't use the Springlock suit until after the DCI. Maybe to check and see if Springbonnie still has power over them like in the movie or in Follow Me.

    • @ironmanii

I actually believe it was the Golden Freddy suit he used. Since the Spring Bonnie suit is still in the first location, and there's another springlock suit in the bunker, I think he stole the Golden Freddy suit from there and took it to CB'sE&R, since it was the first possesed suit, remember?
Also it was the sixth night the one they find out. 🙂

As an English Major turned legal student, your explanation is good enough for the video at hand. Technically, the shareholders do have more pull in the company, but not just because they give money. There is a contract involved in most companies between shareholders and the company. This of it as a council for the company, rather than just one person owning the whole thing. There are duties that shareholders have to the company and duties the company has to the shareholders. Depending on the company, the shareholders can even buy the shares of the one that made the company and boot them out of ownership entirely. Without knowing the EXACT details about Freddy's we don't really know what the contracts looked like. But, that doesn't mean the theory is bunk by any means. There's enough evidence there for the theory at hand.

The thing I find so baffling about the DCI is the fact that the phone guy never mentions it in FNAF 1. He references the bite of 87 but doesn't mention the incident where multiple dead children were left strewn around the restaurant. Surely that's a little more notable than the time some guy lost his frontal lobe but was even still left alive.

    • @skillet7299

This can be explained by the fact that scott simply never planned for fnaf 2 when fnaf 1 was made. Fnaf 1 was supposed to be his last Hail Mary in the gaming scene before it blew up.
A lot of fnaf's bizarre storytelling mostly comes down to the fact that Scott was making the story up as he went along 🤷

@@skillet7299 Idk why Scott even thought it was necessary to include the DCI in the story at all tbh. It just doesn't make much sense to be there because the victims don't seem to possess anyone, the incident has no notable effect on the story and it just creates more problems and confusion. If there was one thing in the original Scott Cawthon FNAF games I would love to be retconned it would definitely be the DCI

@@mrpigg5446well we could go along with what Help Wanted offers us: Those games were made by a crazy individual. The things that happened there are true but some of the things are told in an exaggerated way.
Maybe the DCI didn’t happen and it was just added there to reminds us that William was a murdered.
And if we think about what we’ve learnt from the books, maybe those kids didn’t possess anything because they found their own dead bodies and (perhaps) the marionette helped them move on quicker since they didn’t attach themselves or got attached by someone else to something.
And knowing Fazzbear, they did their best to bury down this incident, after all we could assume (forcing it) that they weren’t many witnesses and somehow Fazzbear managed to shut them.
My personal theory is that the famous bite of 87, despite actually happening, is a major cover up. Like, Fazzbear prefers to focus on that accident, admit it happened but save themselves by getting rid of the toy animatronics.
I like to think that the bite and the DCI happened at the party, so Fazzbear decided that if they wanted to somehow keep going with this franchise they’d have to sacrifice something to cover up something else, therefor, they admitted their animatronics malfunction and caused the bite and focused everything around that incident to cover up the DCI.

This makes sense. And follow up on it: if this is the case, when the puppet is in front of freddy in the end of night cutscenes in fnaf 2, that could actually be the animatronics BEFORE fnaf 2, as that was the bodies being put in. And the reason we see it as fnaf 1 animatronics isn't that this takes place in fnaf 1, it's because as we recently learned, there was never really "unwithered" versions of the animatronics, the animatronics had attempted redesigns done, it failed, they left the redesigned suits on the animatronics, and used them for scrap parts, eventually recycling them back into fnaf 1 when the toys failed, and they restored the original suit designs. So before fnaf 2, when the animatronics were first getting possessed, we're seeing the 3d version of "give gifts give life", as each animatronic gets possessed, and the moment we see the puppet was the puppet allowing freddy's spirit to finally gain control, and unlike the others, freddy actually saw the puppet, where the puppet isn't visible when you see the others get possessed. Meaning that's why freddy would trust the puppet. Maybe the puppet attempted to rally all the now withered animatronics, but only one trusted her, the one who knew that face because he saw it during his first moments gaining consciousness inside of his animatronic form. So he follows his savior, the puppet, still remembering his own death quite clearly, and he runs, trying to save the next victims. But in the time it took for the puppet to get one animatronic to believe her and lead them to the children, it was too late. And William was ready. He got freddy down, though there's no clue as to how he did it. But in that moment, freddy learned. He had to only move when others weren't looking. Because the one time he moved when others were looking, he got shut down. And to a child's mind, if you're attacked for moving when people are looking, you won't move when they are looking. And you'll hide in the shadows, sneaking up.
That's why not only is it just freddy trying to save the kids, but also why he'd trust the puppet and why he only moves in the shadows, and moves fastest when it's completely dark, when nobody can see him coming and attack him for moving. In his child mind, that's what the solution is, and he trusted the puppet when the others didn't because he saw her upon gaining consciousness, while the others seemingly didn't

Ok, I don't know if this theory is correct, BUT! I’m pretty sure Scott started sweating when you mentioned "reorganization bankruptcy." Suddenly, it all makes so much more sense. Fredbear’s Family Diner was started by William and Henry, but after that, it’s all about the public brand and the shareholders.
This explains the Sister Location intro, who created the FNAF3 location, and the whole FNAF6 franchise situation. HECK! The redistribution of assets could even explain things like Chica’s Party World or, in a broader sense, the connection to Fall Fest.
For all this time, we’ve been trying to figure out who is behind Fazbear Entertainment and how it connects to Henry and William. But it looks like we’ve been overthinking it. Fazbear Entertainment is… just Fazbear Entertainment! A group of shareholders doing their best to make their money back.
William is still a villain, sticking to the company because of his experiments, and Henry is still around as an engineer, but they seem far less connected to the brand than we thought.
The modern FNAF timeline suddenly makes much more sense when we consider this legal situation. And we don’t need Clara Afton (looking at you, MatPat) to make the Pizzaplex happen.
This finding is HUGE! I have my doubts about the full theory, but "reorganization bankruptcy" is a big piece of the puzzle.

Some more evidence to suggest that neither William nor Henry owned the FNaF 2 location can be heard in Night 5's phone call:

If William or Henry owned the FNaF 2 location, they wouldn't need to track them down, and they sure wouldn't have doubts about it, since they'd obviously be in charge.

What narrative sense does it make to say "oh, Afton killed some more kids for no reason, but they're not haunting anything, they're just dead."

I completely agree with this theory, but one thing I've always thought is that it would be really weird if Afton used the Spring Bonnie suit to commit the DCI. That suit has probably been in the saferoom at the original/90s location since the springlock suits were discontinued, and then Afton used it in ~'85 to commit his first string of murders. But considering Golden Freddy has always been shown in suit mode and there's plenty of theories about the body within it either just being completely destroyed by springlocks or it or the Crying Child's body being separated from the suit, *what if Afton used the Golden Freddy/Fredbear suit that we know for certain was at that location to commit the murders?*
It would explain why it's just lying out in the open in SAVE THEM and only suddenly becomes hostile and active on Night 6. Afton having some experience with that suit as well would also explain why he hangs onto it and maybe brings it to the Sister Location bunker, and that salvages it for spare parts to repair himself in his Scraptrap design which presumably attaches Cassidy's soul to his own. *What would provoke all of the children more and solidify just how much Cassidy hates him as to become the vengeful spirit than to literally defile the closest thing this child has left to a body and use it to commit more atrocities?*

So the whole corporate structure thing is where I want to see the corporate documents themselves. There can sometimes be different classes of shares for a corporation (if you look up the shenanigans of what happened with Julia Haart from My Unorthodox Life and her ex that gives an example of this) where some shareholders can be given a voice in a corporation without others having a voice, depending on the structure, and that would likely be laid out in the formation/charter documents (as amended and restated, most likely, at some point) or the bylaws. Then there is the whole question of WHERE Fazbear Entertainment originally incorporated and what that permits... And I'm just someone who drafts and helps file the papers, I don't even know the law side.

The dead kids incident happening during fnaf 2 gives new perspective on midnight motorist.
1: on night 5 you are told that it’s the last day and to not let any former employees in. (In MM the yellow guy is refused entry from a place called Jr’s. Jr is another way of referring to someone who is named after their father but is also referred to as the second, like a second location)
    2. Night 6’s fnaf 2 phone call starts with the phone guy telling you there was an incident and that someone used one of the spare suits, a Yellow one.
    3. The MM mini game is called “Later that Night”. What if it’s referring to the DCI and not the murder of Charlie Emily.
Essentially it goes as follows: day 5 William does the DCI, and tries to go back to the scene that night only for the guard to tell him “no employees allowed”, so he regrettable returns home. And his handy work is found on day 6, which is what finally sends all the animatronics into hyperdrive. On day 7 the bite of 87 happens.

That would give a reason for William to have the bunker with employees other than Mike. Fazbear removed him from the face of the company (maybe William *was* the one convicted, that's why he was taken away from the public eye) but wanted to use his mind to make animatronics. So they hide him in a bunker to do essentially whatever he wants so long as he can make them money.
Also, per the US Supreme Court, it is literally illegal for you not to do everything you can to make your shareholders more money.

By the DCI i think Afton is already out of Fazbear Entertainment, so he does not care about "hiding" anything and letting them get in trouble / get shut down is a zero point of concern for him. The reason why I think this comes back to the theme of "into madness" and the lingering themes about corporatism that Scott brings up in his sixe FNAF games. Phone Guy is the biggest lampshade of this, but the idea continues with SL's and FFPS more directly.
Fazbear Entertainment, the company, is founded in 1983; Dave Afton dies that same year and I strongly believe the newly-formed company then moved to boot out the two founders (I don't want to get too speculative, but I think they blamed the bite on Afton's poor management of Fredbears, booted him out by board vote and shut down that location / retired those characters. I then think Afton was jealous of Henry remaining behind, so took it out on Charlie).
Afton Robots forms because William wants to re-launch his career in that industry; opening Baby's Pizza World. However, it fails (mirroring the circumstances of Fredbear's). He then peddles, in a last-ditch effort, to Fazbear Entertainment as a sub-contractor; basically "please continue to fund my research and I will make you the most amazing life-like robots ever".
In the mists of all of this, I really think the DCI is Afton both collecting/harvesting remnant to fuel the Funtimes and to "weaken" Fazbear Entertainment. If Afton can cause them to abandon the Toy Series, then that creates an open window for him to show up and market his Funtimes to them. Lastly, I think "into madness" refers to how Afton and Henry both fall into their own rabbitholes of mental illness out of the company they founded pushing them out; I think Fazbear Entertainment is literally a "character" in it of itself in this story; it's the third element that explains how the two founders could end up spinning out so much while locations continue to exist in the timeline.

With the DCI being completely unmentioned in any other FNAF media, is it possible we are just seeing the MCI kid bodies before they were stuffed? FNAF 2 has a very Sister Location aesthetic with the vast number of cables, metal plating, cold interior, etc. So is it trying to show us that the FNAF 2 location is part of Afton's experiments locations?
I'm still grappling with how we can be certain the DCI really is a separate event since it appears to have zero impact on anything in the story. Unlike the MCI that spans the entire series, why would Scott create an entire second event and never use it?

The place specifically goes under lockdown for a serious of "tragic events" according to Ralph/Phone Guy, and the place ends up shutting down after going on lockdown because of it. The MCI happens at the location from before FNaF 2 -- hence why PG mentions there being "rumors" about the old location.
What's more is that the original FNaF 1 newspapers specifically mention that the animatronics with corpses in them were stinking WHILE they were performing. The Withereds weren't on stage at all. There is a 0% chance the DCI is the MCI.
Sometimes things are just written poorly and forgotten about as a result.

We get introduced to 5 new animatronics, technically 6 if we count the Puppet, but you get what I’m saying. Those Robots are haunted. Plain and simple. Williams see an opportunity to do some killing and goes for

I actually have a few theories of my own about Fazbear business stuff:
    1. Fazbear Entertainment commissioned Afton Robotics to create the Toy animatronics. You kind of implied this in your theory with the Toys being turned over to William after being scrapped, but my theory is based around their designs, hard plastic casings with bright rosy-cheeked designs, and how advanced for the 1980s they were. There’s also a pretty common belief that Fazbear Entertainment acquired Afton Robotics and the Funtime characters IP, and since the characters show up in the in-universe VR game, I’m pretty sure that’s canon. But since HandUnit talks about Freddy’s like it was a competitor in Sister Location, it couldn’t have been acquired while the original Fazbear Entertainment was in operation. I believe that Henry purchased the rights to all that stuff while preparing his trap.
    2. Theory 2 is more centered in Stitchline Games, and it explains how there can be Freddy’s locations that are still open in the modern day even after the FNAF 1 location closed, and my theory is that it works like McDonalds: pay Fazbear Entertainment rent and the right monthly fees and you’re a Freddy Fazbear’s franchise owner. Some may have even rebranded their restaurants to avoid DCI, MCI, and Bite of ‘87 backlash. Not sure if that’s legal or not in real life, but this is fiction. It would explain how Fazbear Entertainment survived long enough for Henry to buy it all up before burning everything.

  • @Elmblossom17
    @Elmblossom17 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

It's an interesting idea, and I'm sure parts of it, especially in the later sections, are probably correct or close to it. The first question I have is whether or not we believe William Afton would even be willing to open his company up to public ownership, or if he seems more likely to want to keep complete ownership over it, especially at the beginning before the mad science distracted him when his focus was more likely on building a legacy through the success of the business. He seems the type to want as much control over things as he can get and Henry was probably only allowed because William generally made his business decisions for him, or at least that's my impression of the way things worked between them (at least initially), with William the money man and Henry the artist. I imagine that later on, when his focus shifted and thus his priorities did the same, it probably wouldn't have mattered as much to him.
The second question then is where did they get the early funding? It's possible that one or the other or both of them were from wealthy backgrounds, as we know nothing about either one of their families. Or maybe they were cutting costs as much as possible early on, which might then explain the springlock suits - they might be a cost-cutting solution to avoid needing to have both mascot suits and animatronics. It's so hard to decide which is more likely to be correct. As always, with FNAF, more data is needed.

16:57 You're wrong about William starting up Circus Baby's Pizza World after the closing of Fredbear's Family Diner due to the bite of 83. In FNAF Sister Location on night one, when you're crawling through the vent from the elevator to the primary control module, Handunit says ".....due to the massive success and even more so the unfortunate closing of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, it was clear that the stage was set, no pun intended, for another contender in children's entertainment.....". So the closing of a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is the reason to why William made Circus Baby's Pizza World, not the closing of Fredbear's Family Diner. This could be the closing of the first Freddy Fazbear's Pizza due to the missing children's incident, the closing of the second Freddy Fazbear's Pizza due to the bite of 87, or the closing of the third Freddy Fazbear's Pizza due to Fazbear Entertainment's bad reputation; which is why that third pizzeria never gets any customers to keep that pizzeria in business. You could say that I'm wrong if you think Handunit was referring to Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental instead of Circus Baby's Pizza World, therefore Circus Baby's Pizza World wasn't made due to the closing of a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, meaning that Circus Baby's Pizza World could have been made before the closing (and maybe even before the opening, though I think that's even more false) of any Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. But I don't think that's true at all no matter how it's spun

The animatronics are already aggressive during his shift implying they’re possessed, The investigation talks about not allowing in people especially previous employees during lock down, and the previous guard is either fired or left considering the day shift spot is suddenly available on night 5

I actually think during the death minigame you're playing as Toy Freddy and there's the image of the the dead kid by what looks like the withered animatronics (3:36) and I think that the kid is supposed to be in withered bonnie or will be, and that's why it's missing the top part of its head. Theyre also blockier and larger. I also made this theory but the strange noises in the opening cutscene/mask cutscenes of the games are actually the kids being chased/ki11ed by William. Thats why eventually in the cutscenes the other animatronics are looking at you, and then there's the puppet. The puppet was there prior to FNAF2 in the cake minigame and also the puppet cutscene in the other FNAF in the alley, then there were at least two parties during/after that event and on the third night the slayings happened. But we didnt know that from FNAF1's story, we just knew FNAF2 happened prior (?) to that game. But some people say fnaf 1 actually happens after fnaf 2

also I didnt really think about this but the phone guy in night 1 talks about the previous guard quitting due to conditions - that "some of the animatronics would try to get into the office." Am I the only one who thought the MCI and DCI kids were one and the same? Like, I figured the kids who went missing were eventually found dead inside the suits and that their spirits were not only in haunting the suits they were stuffed in but generally affecting everything in the restaurant and/or haunted the new ones from the reused parts. Most ghosts cause issues with electronics, entire rooms of furniture to shake, etc. I never assumed that the toy animatronics were possessed in the same way that the og animatronics were possessed by the children stuffed inside them. If I was a murdered child seeing that the restaurant I died and got trapped in for the foreseeable eternity there was greedy enough to put more kids at risk by reopening, id be pissed! And we know that emotions like pain, sadness, rage, agony etc make a spirit more powerful and linger. It stood to reason that made the toys so aggressive. Idk it sounds almost excessive for there to be eleven or twelve ghosts in but the fnaf series isn't exactly grounded or restrained

Hey sorry I'm late! Was unfortunately busy, and good news I have a single addendum to this theory. More specifically the Buisness Timeline, and something ppl always get wrong. In the games timline it is heavily implied William was the SOLE owner of Fredbear's.
To quote Ralph in fbaf 2 "We're going to try and contact the original resturant owner... I think the name of the place was 'Fredbear's Family Diner' or something." Fredbear's was owned by one guy, William Afton. And Ralph later mentions he doubts they'd be able to ttack anyone dosn. Which kinda diproves the idea William helped set up fnaf 2 but I kinda still believe that a little bit.
Either way the business timeline is probably closer to soomething like this. Up until 79' Henry owns Fallfest and whatever Fazbear/Fredbear's association with it is. Post it burning down William gains ownership and opens Fredbear's by himself, maybe hiring Henry as a technician who cares, post 83 William sells/loses the company. In 87 it reorganizes and somewhere before 2004 likely between 1998-1993 it dissolves. Then someone takes it over when fnaf 3 happens and Henry gets it back for fnaf 6.
But that's it. Otherwise great video as usual.

I think the only issue with this theory is the existence of Funtime Foxy. We know from FNAF World that Mangle's original name is the same, so if Afton doesn't own the rights to the character regardless of the SL animatronic existing before 1987 how does he still use it for CB Pizza & Rental?
Just to get a jumpstart on replies this is the biggest non-issue ever, I get it. Mangle is realistically Toy Foxy and the Funtime moniker can be used solely by Afton Robotics (maybe William just got lazy by the time he needed a Toy Foxy design). There's also the possibility that Fazbear Ent. cut ties with the Toy Animatronics after The Bite and William wouldn't get in trouble for the one robot/mascot reuse

One thing I’ve had in mind ever since Dawko’s 50/20 interview with Scott is that it was strange that Scott decided not to answer which ending of FNaF 3 was canon, wasn’t it? I mean, logically we’d just assume that it has to be the bad ending because otherwise the spirits would be set free and would never become part of the funtimes like is strongly implied to occur, so the good ending MUST be impossible… right?
Well let’s clear something up here- there is absolutely NO requirement for there to have only been one set of Freddy’s suits. After all, we already know that there was a concurrent sister location to at least one of the establishments, and if MCI and DCI are different events, then there’s no requirement that there was only one set of POSSESSED animatronics.
So what is it I’m getting at here? Well, simply put, I think the animatronics that became Molten Freddy are NOT the same as the ones that were set free in happiest day, the good ending of FNaF 3. This would leave the door open to the possibility that ONE set of spirits were freed, whereas the 5 MORE kids are still possessing animatronics, and eventually became Molten Freddy who wouldn’t be freed until later. Well, supposedly freed, anyway.
This also clears up the weird fact that Henry only made graves for the ORIGINAL 5 victims, excluding the 5 more that happened at another point. Those spirits were freed LONG ago through happiest day and the death of their killer, so they don’t still have anything else keeping them bound to this world.
This creates a really strange fact in the timeline, however. Remember, William supposedly gets sealed in the safe room (although not explicitly stated, it’d be pretty easy for him to just leave instead of sitting there for 30 years…) after dismantling the animatronics, the Funtime animatronics must ALREADY be made long prior, as once William is sealed, Michael discovers the bunker, releases the funtimes, and then in the aftermath of Sister Location we see the return message he sends to William, and William is shown in the incinerated remains for the FNaF 3 locations, leading us to FNaF 6.
But, for Michael to free the funtimes after William is already at the FNaF 3 location supposedly, that means they’ve been sitting there for at least 30 years, and since the minigames where the animatronics are dismantled looks most like the FNaF 1 location, which likely reuse refurbished FNaF 2 withered animatronics, that then means they’ve FNaF 1 animatronics, the ones freed in Happiest Day, are the DCI victims following this logic, and so the MCI victims a couple years prior to then are left to be the ones in the funtimes, leaving them to be built somewhere between 1985 (the only known MCI date, even if only directly referenced in non-game media) and the closure of the FNaF 1 establishment.
This all then brings up one important question- when do the FNaF 3 tapes take place? We hear that the yellow suits are decommissioned due to an incident at a sister location, meaning the sister location MUST be open simultaneously to this point, then somebody noticeably moves one of them. The following day, there’s now an investigation that’s begun, and it all wraps up with them warning of the sealing of the safe rooms (which is actually irrelevant to us, I think it’s likely that it was retconned that William was sealed up at the moment this was recorded as it simply won’t make sense).
Given all this, I think they were recorded at the FNaF 2 location for day shift employees. Let’s keep in mind here, we KNOW FNaF 2 had a yellow suit kept in the back, and unlike we see in FNaF 4, the location mentioned in the tapes only say they have TWO specially designed suits. But, the tapes ALSO say that technicians would be coming to look at them, so it’s very well possible that the other suit, Spring Fredbear, was taken back to their workshop, ending up in night 4 of FNaF SL. This makes it make sense why Golden Freddy only appears as a phantom.
In addition to all this, the calls perfectly line up with the events we hear in FNaF 2, which is that some sort of an investigation is beginning, and there’s a new vacancy in the day shift due to a former employee (William) doing something involving moving the Spring Bonnie suit earlier that day. The next day shift that comes we hear the tapes finally communicate that the investigation is occurring too (as he found out about it overnight and let the night shift workers know, but the day shift one still needs to hear). Then the next night he sounds WAY more panicked because it’s apparent that the use of the yellow suit was to commit the murders, and that nobody would be allowed in or out.
Perfectly lines up, right? So, if these tapes came from the FNaF 2 location, then the sister location must be open simultaneously, right? What location is that? Well, I don’t know if we’ve ever seen it, but considering FNaF Sister Location is a double entendre referring to the location of Mike’s sister AND the Sister Location to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, I suspect it’s the location we see in FNaF 4, and that we’ve ACTUALLY never seen the inside of Fredbear’s. Or, alternatively, the sister location WAS Fredbear’s, but reopened as the Sister Location to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, but these options involve their own series of inconsistencies.
So it’s not completely conclusive, but it’s the best explanation that I can come up with for SEVERAL extremely specific choices Scott made.

This is what I had been wondering for a while. If William or Henry owned Fazbears in its entirety, why does FNAF 5 show him pitching the Funtime animatronics to what seems to be investors? And why on earth would the FNAF 2 location ever hire him back if he was the prime suspect in the MCI, despite not being convicted? Why would Henry trust William at all afterwards and how did this just slip under his radar? It just made more sense to me if another company held shares and ownership to Fazbears, a company who cares more about making a profit and so doesn't mind sweeping things under the rug to get it, or at least detached enough from Fazbears to not be concerned or aware of what is happening.

Fnaf 2 is honestly my most favorite fnaf game.
    Things I think.
    1. I’m personally a strong Believer that Cassie’s dad is both the Bonnie Mask Bully and Jeremy Fitzgerald and because of that I think since Shadow Bonnie first appeared in fnaf 2 he’s actually a manifestation of Jeremy’s guilt in the form of a Dark Rabbit Entity.
    2. I think the Toy Animatronics aren’t Possessed by Ghost but rather Haunted/Energized by the Agony of the DCI.
    3. I think the reason why the Puppet was made to protect Charlie was because possibly she dies after the MCI Hence why the Puppet was Specifically tasked with Protecting her.
    4. I think the reason why the animatronics try to kill you is because they either think your their killer or that your working with their killer.
    5. I think it’s possible that if Jeremy Fitzgerald is also the Bonnie Mask Bully then him seeing golden Freddy could mean that all the fnaf 4 bullies are being haunted by Golden Freddy.
    6. I think it’s possible that since William Was the Founder and CEO of his own Company (Afton Robotics LLC) he may have had other Accomplices other than Michael that he had help him.

The most likely reason I can see why William would do the DCI was to see what the animatronics would do and how possession works if he doesn’t stuff the kids. But Charlie learns her lesson and doesn’t tether the kids soul’s to the animatronics to trap them forever. But William does gain something from this, he notices that the mangle is walking on its own. He figures out it was built from the endos from the withereds and figures out life can be given to the inanimate if giving them parts from possessed objects, giving him the idea to later melt down the animatronics into the funtimes to give them life.

When disturbed people perform actions we don't understand, asking about their sense of right or wrong or their morality is not very productive. Like every single person, they do what they happen to feel like doing at the moment just because they believe it will make them feel better now or in the future. Even normal people have difficulty justifying that when asked to defend their actions in retrospect.

Opening a business location just to tank it is a tax fraud thing as well, Fazbear has been shown to be an unscrupulous company that isn't above that kind of behavior in 2025(or whenever the Pizzaplex opens, idr), so William or a shareholder above him wanting to open another location and not being mad about it being tanked immediately kinda tracks

I think there’s not a lot of stuff left unknown once you realize there are 4 different stories. 1-3 was one story, 1-4 was another one with slightly more detail on Afton, 1-6 is another story. The issue is the way Scott frames the story changes over time so he has to kind of soft retcon a lot. Once you realize the series has several soft reboots as Scott wanted to go deeper and then clarify other things, it becomes way less psychologically damaging

19:42 Minor note, but the Golden Freddy Singing Drawing in FNaF 2 suggests that William used the Fredbear/Golden Freddy suit, since it wasn't otherwise used at that location since it was just an old spare in the back. This doesn't especially matter unless it leads to some huge revelation later, but I just thought I'd let you know.

The common theory that I am seeing, right now, is showing that the animatronics are sentient beings.
We talked about the souls of the children and then later, turned into animatronics controlled by Glitch Trap, just to now turn into something way deeper with The Mimic.
As if The Mimic was an evolving form of AI behind most of the animatronics that we’ve known from the start.
And Into the Pit reveals to us that being under Pit Trap’s control you lose memories of your past self like how Freddy did under Glitch Trap.
Which indicates that Mimic has been in control of everything this entire time while also blurring the line between life and death.

I know that it's taboo to mix Book canon with Game canon but to me, William did everything he did for 3 reasons:
    1. He's a sick twisted fuck.
    2. He has a scientific mind and when he saw that The Puppet was possessed by my Poor Baby Charlie, he wanted to see if it could happen again because of Reason 1 plus he's obsessed with immortality and a side effect of that obsession is him having a way to keep The Promise he made to David at the end of FNAF 4. (I know Charlie could've said it but I'm still running off Occam's Razor with my Theorizing and O.R. = William!)
and last but not least (get ready for a mini fanfic! I hope y'all enjoy it, LMAO!): He's a deeply jealous and insecure malignant narcissist who has gone full Yandere regarding all things Fazbear, whether he created it or not. Henry Emily was better at robotics and likely better at interacting with people and that just wouldn't do. After The Big Bite, he assigned blame to Michael and the other bullies because DUH and to Henry since HE was the one who built Fredbear in the first place, feeding back into his inferiority complex. He NEEDED to knock Henry off of his pedestal and pass the buck because he was incapble of accepting that his bad parenting led to Michael's deliquency, David's bone deep misery, and Elizabeth Getting Got by Baby. He wanted Blood for Blood so he killed Charlie and after Henry had the AUDACITY to keep running the business without him with even better robots, he did the MCI, the DCI, and kept the Funtimes activated until everything was ruined and the business shut down, which in his eyes, Humbled Henry and gave him carte blanche to do any experiment wanted via false names, taking technician/security guard gigs, running Afton Robotics and soothing the remaining shareholders until he ended up Springlocked and eventually in UCN.
TL:DR- He did it because he's a big ol' immortality obsessed murderous child hating crybaby mad scientist who couldn't humble himself, wanted revenge on those he felt wronged him by any means necessary (he's a wayyy dumber Gus Fring, TBH), and just Reason 1. Some people just suck and make it everyone's problem.

Just wanted to add some additional context for the legal obligation a company has to shareholders. While yes it is true that a company, technically speaking, does not have any legal obligation to listen to its shareholders, a legal doctrine known as Shareholder Primacy has been set over time through legal precedence starting Dodge v. Ford Motor Co. in the Michigan Supreme Court in 1919 which held that Henry Ford had to operate his company in a way that benefited the shareholders after they sued him for wanting to decrease dividend payouts and increase employee salaries. So, although there isn't directly a law on the books that says "all companies must listen to their shareholders", longstanding legal precedent has forced companies into the position where it might as well be a law.

The exact date of the carnival fire was a lunar eclipse, as hinted in HW2, which gives us a very close range of dates among 1970 and 1985, specially there was a TOTAL eclipse on FALL 1979 (SOTM year).

I never believed in the concept of the DCI being another 5 kids or however many just because Willy felt a little silly.
For me things should felt thematically or story wise. This premise/theory works really well!
It works even better if you include the idea that the DCI was not a lot of kids, but just One, the one he shouldn't have killed. If William does more or less exactly as what you say in the ending "timeline" summary, he could have gotten the reaction from the puppet using just one child. (This theory also means Charlie/puppet was the First MCI)
The other bodies could be the original missing children which he was also "experimenting" with.
I understand why others say its more murders, because those bodies would be decompossed severly by 1987 if they were killed 1985. Especially somewhere that gets hot like Utah. (would also ecplain why the Withereds/Classics still have odor). Likely apparitions or replica dolls if not corpses, except for Cassidy/Vengeful who'd be real.

I do feel like Henry emily partially owns fnaf 2, but that theres a company that mostly runs it. Henry’s design and security is very similar to the Toys and the puppet. Which makes me think and ask- what if Charlotte emily and the missing children dies at the fnaf 2 location?
It would make in a bit sense, since it does seem like something William would do towards what Henry created.
