Optimaras are easy to grow, especially with natural light, so I would definitely recommend them for a beginner. As far as artificial light, I am still trying to figure out their sweet spot, with my LEDs. I also had good luck growing some Buckeyes, Cajun's and Jollies, among others. They are all beautiful! Happy growing!
