Hi there, do you have a website for selling your violets? Thanks Nora Blackwell. PS, my grower is no longer in business and truly enjoy your posting.

great video. Thank you.
Wow I’ve never seen so many beautiful blooms! Whatever you’re doing is making all of the plants very happy 😻🌺 Hope you all are well. ❤

What is the best yarn to use? I am trying 8ply acrylic or nylon knitting yarn.
@@WhipGirl25 I am using 4-ply acrylic knitting yarn for standards, and split it in half for miniatures.
I hope you are having a good summer. I have been looking forward to these new videos and music! Thank you for sharing.

Dear Gray Turtle, I enjoy all the updates of your collection of African Violets. What a wonderful collection you have, and how well you grow them all. Thank you for sharing all of this with us. We really do appreciate all that you do. Sincerely, Larry Clarence Lewis London, Ontario, Canada.

I hope your remodeling is going well! Your videos inspired me to find a variegated A.V. and now I'll be on the lookout for a wasp variety. Those leaves are neat! And Emilie Savage is AMAZING - I really like the frilled edges too :3

I have Cupid’s Jewel! I added it to my recent Lyndon Lyon order as an afterthought. It’s my favorite now. The picture on the Lyndon Lyon website didn’t do it justice. The color is great and it blooms like crazy. It’s like having a tiny peony bush at home.

Amazing! you never let us down, simply beauties.
Just gorgeous. I have a few now just started. I have a varaged one. To but dont know what its called. But the top leaves are green now. Do i cut them off to keep it variegated.
@@wandawilson6266 The new leaves that grow from the center, or the top of the crown, often show variegation later on, as they mature - keep them. Happy growing!
What an amazing collection of you have 👏👏👏
Dear Gray Turtle, I have watched many of your videos on your collection of violets. What an amazing collection you have, and, what is equally amazing is how beautiful and healthy your violets are. I am elderly and have only a few violets which I have purchased at the grocery store. They have done well and reward me with an abundance of blooms. I don’t expect you answer this type of question, but, if you would, I would be very grateful. I would like to obtain a single-flowering violet which is a dark blue with a white edge, and I would also like to obtain a single-flowering violet which is deep purple with a white edge. The white edge should be smooth, but a slight ruffle is also fine. If you could tell me the names of such varieties, or, where I could search for them, I would be very appreciative. Once I pin down the names, I might have to ask you for sources, since I am in Canada. In advance, thank you for your assistance if you are able to provide it. Sincerely, Larry Clarence Lewis London, Ontario, Canada.

Thank you for posting this video. I am very, very new to African Violets. I love to see the varieties out there
You are very welcome! Happy growing!
Because of your terrific reviews I have added new African violets to my collection. I’ve always had African violets my entire married life, but only a few at a time. Now at 80 yrs young I am up to 9 but still adding. Ness crinkle blue is always “out of stock” but it’s a must for me to have so I will keep trying. African violets ask very little of me but bring me such joy. Thank you for all your reviews

Go back to Wick Watering.
I did! Just for the summertime :)
I've been doing this for years with a plant that was my mother's. This last time, the lower leaves have all wilted. I tried repotting on new soil, but the leaves won't perk up.
@@naomiojala7144 It happens sometimes, I usually let it root and grow new leaves, and then remove the older leaves. Some need a bit more humidity, so I keep them domed while they are recovering.
What a great and super helpful video. You demonstrated all sorts of situations that could come up when propapaging these plants. Thank you so much. It turns out that I have to be a lot more patient before I can separate the babies, but thanks to your video (which I will safe), I am prepared when the time comes. I will subscribe and see what other tips you have. :)
@@adventuresandreams Appreciate your feedback! Glad it’s been helpful. Happy growing!
Thanks for the great video. I have successfully grown baby plants, but I used one bigger container for four leaves. I was wondering how big the babies should get before I seperate them into their individual conainers. I'm so excited to see them grow. The leaves came from my mom, which makes them extra special. :)
@@adventuresandreams Congrats on propagation success! I show when and how I separate them in this video, check it out: th-cam.com/video/B5EP83hoFho/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1LS9mSQ7OQ-sgmaF

Thank you! Depends on the variety, some produce offspring in 2 months, the slowest ones can take up to 6 months. Here is a video showing when and how I separate baby plants from mother leaf: th-cam.com/video/B5EP83hoFho/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GKJ-DcVF5U6wEVUR. Happy growing!

Thank you for a good lesson. I never removed the blooms of a new plants and yesterday I found a bugs on my AV. Now I now how to treat the new plants.
Glad it’s been helpful. Appreciate your feedback!
Thank you for your very educational videos. I learn so much and your videos are so nicely made. I do have a question. With the mother leaf, I waited until one of the baby leaves is the size of a quarter and I decided to separate it from the mother leaf and plant it in its own cup following your instructions. But in doing that, I found 5 baby plants! I put each in their own new cup, but of course only one of those babies had a leaf the size of a quarter, the other 4 just had tiny leaves. I put all 5 in separate pots and I wonder, can I expect even the babies to thrive? I just don't know if they are big enough or have enough roots to survive and I am curious about your experience with the success of planting even these small babies. Thank you!
Appreciate your feedback! I found that often one leaf can produce several baby plants, so if I see only one baby plant, I wait a bit longer for the other ones to emerge. If the oldest baby is strong enough, usually with 2-3 rows of leaves, I separate it and keep the smaller ones with mother leaf until they grow stronger. I did try planting them when they had only one row of leaves, some survived, and others didn’t, so only time will tell. Happy growing!
@@grayturtleviolets Super, thank you for your reply. So glad I can watch your videos and learn from you. Happy growing!
Thank you so much for sharing of your experience. I never thought it’s so important to grow AV. Now I’m sure I over fertilized my babies.

If you get a light that is defective and will not assemble correctly just open the paperwork inside the box or contact Barrina directly via phone with your purchase order date or invoice number and they will simply replace the defective item in your set for anyone else who has a issue so then your new set will be exactly what you purchased.

Hi. Will it grow root if I dip the cutting in honey? Thank you
