Hi there, just a suggestion on how to locate the leak. Try using a cup of water with washing up liquid and using a paint brush to wet up the bladder and look for bubbles and there's your leak. Works on inflatable beds bike inner tubes or gas leaks e.t.c. watching all your vlogs. Keep up the great work your both doing. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Hi Keith and Michele glad u done a video on this as I hav the same awning as your but the newer one with two windows in and bought the instant patch repair kit without the glue which was told no wait time instant repair but never seen someone done it to see it done so glad u done a vlog on it aleast now I know how to do it thanks to you both thank you for sharing look forward to your up date on the water pump pipe from whale cheers kev

Had the same problem with mine in exactly the same area. Ended up as you said buying a new bladder. I found a diagram on Kampa's web site of the bladder part numbers so was easy to know that info when ordering new parts, I have also printed it off for future reference. (The number is also on a tag inside the bladder cover. F400 from memory) Got mine delivered from Norwich Camping, they are a Kampa dealer and delivery was quite swift, as you say about £20 delivered. Just had another look at this as I've had a problem with one of the main beams on my awning. Whilst perched on a very beautiful but exposed Cornish CL the wind was bending the beam on the right hand side. This must have caused the inner training tube to rub against the zip. The following day, I undid the zip to reposition the leg and the inner tube ripped through the retaining tube! Managed to isolate it and push it back and zip up. It's held out to the end of my trip but new retaining sleeve and bladder is £90! Hope you are both well?

The inner sleeves are rubbish quality (polypro woven material) on older awnings. Do not unzip the sleeves when fully inflated, the inner sleeve will rip under the air pressure!
thank you we have a kampa air awning w3 keep my eye on it allso someone told me when the weather is hot you are suppose to let some air out but iam not sure how much and when do you fill it back up many thanks dave duffy
Hi Dave, letting air out of the awning during hot weather is a bit like Brexit....very divided 😀 personally we don’t, however that’s just us. Having had an awning for over three years and on some occasions been in extreme heat we’ve never experienced any issues. We do however know a couple who’s awning did explode during a hot summer, Kampa replaced the burst beam & sent it to them whilst on site. Kampa also stated that the heat was not a factor. I was never any good at repairing a bike puncture. Hopefully, will not have to do a repair on the awning. Thanks for sharing how to do it 👍🏼

Waiting for this weekend away as I think we may have a puncture on one on the main bladders. We have a Westfield Carina.
We have the carina 420 and have changed all four of the main beam bladders, since buying it three years ago. The first were covered under the guarantee and the last one, we were lucky that the rep was in the caravan shop at the time we were ordering a new one and he arranged for a new one free of charge. Still love the awning though.

Hi guys great video thanks! Can I just ask if there's any chance of doing a video on pitching an awning on a hard gravel stand as we have been to a couple of sites now with this type of stand and apart from it being nearly impossible to get the pegs in! we're really afraid of ruining our new Kampa carpet on the sharp stones, so any comment or advice about this would be very welcome. Many thanks in advance.
Hi Bill, We’ve used the awning carpet many times on gravel/stones & they haven’t caused any damage to the carpet, just a bit uncomfortable underfoot without shoes! You must use rock pegs on this type of standing which are specifically designed for the job as opposed to standard awning pegs. It is also imperative that when hammering these in you use a hammer or small mallet & ensure you drive them in straight. To remove them simply tap them gently from side to side, this will shock them & enable you to pull them straight out. We’ll try to film this for you when we’re next on hardstanding. Did the repair work?
Hi Susan. The repair lasted for about 6 months then started to deflate so we replaced the tube. The replacement tube was £19.99 hope this helps, Keith & Michele

Seems to be a common problem with Kampa
I had a Kampa awning hat leaked like crazy, Kampa and the dealership refuse to have anything to do with me on this leaking product.
I ended up buying a £1600 Isabella awning and wish I had never bought Kampa.
Now I know what a really GOOD awning is with Isabella.
I generally think Kampa is a low grade awning that cost more than competitors

Wow, i really thought the inner tubes are made of a thicker material. I think the manufacturers went away from the pipe thing because its prone to leaking there. Now you have to inflate every tube seperately at most tents.

Hi Keith. Great video but to be honest I think I would have contacted Kampa and asked for a replacement bladder. I would argue that where the leak was on the pipe seal was possibly down to a manufacturing defect. Okay if it was punctured by a sharp object but not there. However, I'm now going to buy myself a repair kit which I hope to never use but if I do, you've shown me how easy it is to remove the air tube. Cheers, Steve :)

More glue the better, No. Enough glue to cover the surface is all you need, too much glue is almost as bad as not enough.
don't think I would recommend filling tube with water, it will never fully dry inside!
