Not from the UK and new to the channel, binge watched a lot of older videos, best thing I've taken from you so far is getting all the rubbish/dead stuff off/out of the lawn.
Huge improvement just following that as rule #1 it sounds so obvious now but I had never given it any thought.

Lows of 13 and high of 27 is the two extremes of the week, but average 16 low and 24 high around midday.
Not huge rain but definitely not dry either.
I might get a chance to mow low and get some fine compost over the lawn.
I want to get on to any weeds coming up but I need a couple of days without rain or watering.
Dan - after a hard sporting season with the most rain i have seen in any season - could you do a guide for sports pitches and what you would do in order to get our sports pitches back up together after a very hard season and ready for the 2024/25 season. Would you ever do core aeration or verti-drain prior to seeding?

Handy looking tool that Dan. Before seeding a job like this at this time of the year are you just checking the forecast for no frosts and that determines when you’ll do it?
I have been doing this now along time and frost never been an issue by the time this comes through we will be mid April so will be fine but i appreciate the further north you are it may be different

What brand/ size of rake was that you were using?
sycamore seedlings may not be a problem in the lawn, but if you have them in the lawn, you will almost certainly have them in your borders too - and they are a huge issue in borders. You have to pick them out one by one, or hoe the soil

Hi Dan, enjoy your content. Do you have any advice on removing weeds / crab grass? I have a scarifier ready to go but will it just spread the weeds / crab grass if I don’t get rid of it all? Feels like a never ending battle to get an immaculate green lawn!
Dan will just tell you to dig it out with a cutlery fork, Roots and all!

Hi Dan, I’ve just completed my lawn by seeding it and covering it with compost light layer, I’ve woke up next morning to find worms all over the top of the compost is this supposed to be to happen or not will it affect the seed growing thanks?

Few weeks unless the existing lawn needs cutting, thats why i dont put any feed down to buy me some time
Dan I did the renovation Easter weekend I’ve ordered the slow grow to slow things down a little bit with existing lawn if I put that on when it arrives will that be ok or will I be wasting my money a week after seeding.

I think it'll be playoffs for you. Same with my club Barnsley. We built some momentum up at some point for the automatic spots, but the squad just isn't strong enough for a title challenge yet.
Dan, any advice on a heavily waterlogged lawn? My soil is clay-ey anyway so always struggles but this year has been especially bad with several bald spots etc. Would you recommend sanding/top dressing/re-seeding now or letting the soil dry out a little first? I don't want to leave it too late that's all and not have a lawn for the summer months.

Because a rake works and the spreader its so fine this material it wpuld fal through it, spreaders are sieves in essence for unrefined compost

May I ask the difference from your perspective between No. 5 and No. 29? Working on a small, clay patch to start with DIAB and want to improve the soil as much as I can. TIA
Never used the 29 is it for fine turf?
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert 29 says fine grade 4mm sandy lawn dressing with horticultural sharp sand/composted organic matter and 5 is sandy loam top soil/composted organic matter. Not sure what the ratio was. Money is super tight and wanted to make as informed decision as I can.

I lost our lawn this year to leatherjackets. Each time it rains I'm sweeping up hundreds off the patio. I must be into thousands now. Would love to understand more on how best to treat (beyond nematodes). I had an amazing lawn only 6 months ago, part of me feels seaweed and fertilisers made the soil more attractive to them.

Can you scarify when it's wet? My lawn is boggy and I've read it can ruin the grass if you scraify when wet

Were they 25ltr bags of no5 you used and how many did you use
its weight by weight so would think it was 20kg rather than weight by volume in field compost. Not sure but if you count on the time lapse you should be able to guage, but i think one bag did about 1/2 what field no4 would do so maybe 4 m2

I am a novice gardener and have only had a house with 2 lawns for 6 months. There seems to be so many gardeners channels its been hard to know which to follow but i have watched a lot of yours but not all. Yours seem to be the best ones and i did a rennovation last Autumn following some of your rennovation videos which used jacks magic compost which i used and it worked very well but im doing the front lawn now and you are using Compost no 4 i couldnt find the video where you changed and so was wondering if i should stop using Jacks and change? The Field no 4 has a minimum order of 5 bags and i still have 2 bags of Jakcks. Hence my question. Your reply seem to suggest a bit of ignorance on my part which i apologised for as i have obviously missed something you must have addressed in tbe last 2 years. Again Sorry for asking what may seem to be a stupid question. I was just looking for your advice. Hope that explains. @@Egonomical ive not used jacks for two years it went peat free and full of crap so no good for lawns if you have a good batch then use it but i got bricks and all kind in mine so was no good, field is sieved down to 5 mm so pure stuff and peat free,

@@carlsherwin5557 yeah the old groundsman killed it by accident few seasons ago didnt he as did swanseas, they were advised to put something on in your case because a pipe burst and flooded the pitch and this stuff was supposed to help aid water through the surface but only works if applied to the surface, your guy sprayed it on the water and it sat on the top and scorched the pitch, swansea used it with iron and then put the lights on with no water and they scorched it had to returf it mid season, they said it was disease but those in the know know what it was
