Cool, it’s fairly common knot in frog fishing world. There are many variations of this by doubling the layers of braid, twisting etc if some is worried about the fish biting the line off.
You said you don't use leader just straight braid don't you get bitten off, I am asking because I fish for pike and would really like to try this, what brand braid are you using and pound thanks 👍😊
Usually I can get away with this rigging. Sometimes when I’m worried about a big fish’s teeth I do four to five layers of braid before tying this knot. That kind of acts like a fibre mesh and gets in between the teeth and doesn’t get sliced. It’s difficult to explain but I think you can visualise what I mean. I use PE lines, .3mm diameter. Brands are mixed between Sunline, Varivas, Duel and few no name brands.

Close the gap with a plier, also make 4 layers instead of 2:)
