I prefer the Palomar Knot. It’s easier and faster to tie and difficult to screw up. Seen it tested and it never broke before the rated line lbs and is usable with hooks, weights, swivels and lures. This knot on the vid only works on hooks but properly tied is great but testing showed there are more potential failure points when it’s too loose or tight especially with mono line rubbing against the hook’s shank. I’ve always tested new knots with weak 2 lbs test line with the hook clamped in a vice. You’ll quickly discover where the deformation will show on the knot with 2 lbs test. Run the test at least 15-20 times and you’ll quickly find some knots requires more precision tying than others just to avoid failure.

Мне больше всего нравится узел и по крепости и по простоте исполнения это когда пропускаешь леску в ушко или без ушка просто прикладываешь леску к крючку, затем делаешь петлю, вставляешь в получившуюся петлю два пальца и начинаешь одной ветвью петли делать обороты вокруг крючка и прижатой к крючку лески а потом просто затягиваешь и всё!

@fishingknots. lol. My problem is, being I fly fish alot also, I can barely see the line, or get it through a fly! Then trying to manipulate that line where it needs to go, all the while dropping my rod, tripping and slipping on rocks, and swatting mosquitoes. I'm a hot mess! But at least still fishing.

Я так привязывал крючки всю жизнь и не мог понять, почему при вываживании даже некрупной рыбы они обрываются. Года три назад дошло-острая кромка ушка надрезает леску и через некоторое время она рвется. Крючки нужно привязывать ЗА УШКО! Я за сезон не оборвал ни одного крючка.

Полностью согласен, на бонусе от кг в легкую может сойти из за обрыва, если только плетенку использовать в качестве поводка. Под этот узел нужно крючок подбирать, без острой кромки в конце ушка, а так как таких практически не бывает, проще использовать другой узел..

This knot is good and strong but however the problem is the hook, the eye is open and has a sharp edge on the end of the circle, I have lost fish because the knot gets cut on the edge of the eye, If you wish to tie any kind of snell knot you need to have a full close eye hook or tie your snell knot so that it does not go through the eye of the hook...
If the hook you use is defective and cuts the rope, it will fail no matter what knot you tie, but if there is no problem with the hook, this knot is a very strong Snell knot. The cool thing about this knot is that it can be tied to a swivel or lure by simply flipping it and wrapping the tag end around the standing line and loop, then finishing the same way. We call it "Greg's knot" around here. I have been using it for 60 + years and have never had one break.
