way too hard on the bl1 dlcs, the armory's glitch is so legendary that not only did gearbox never patch it because of the sure backlash, but they made a callback for it in borderlands 2 in dialogue, and there has yet to date been a better legendary weapon farm in any borderlands game soo, S tier.
The underdome was made to compete with halo's new firefight mode and worked (so if we're judging them for what they are, that's plus a tier), it outsold all the other dlcs except for the armory.

I'm a big fan of environmental storytelling, so I put the other three season 1 DLCs up with Bounty of Blood. I love how the level aesthetics and soundtracks combine to really make a level FEEL a certain way. And this is especially true for Fustercluck, particularly Castle Crimson and the Benediction of Pain. Heck, the arena and music for Evil Lilith slap so hard I almost don't mind sitting there waiting for her to wrap up her immune phase.
Also I sneakily led my fianceé into the EXP Loader jumpscare in multiplayer and heard her reaction in voicechat, so that alone was worth it.

    • @TKmeh
      @TKmeh ปีที่แล้ว +1

I almost forgot about that jumpscare until my friend (who recently got into BL games) ran into it himself. His voice chat was just “OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD, oh… what the actual ef? Was that supposed to happen?”, deferring to me, the chats resident BL3 expert.
“Yes.”, that and the red chest troll had me cackling at his response. He seemed genuinely pissed off by that one, also, I’ve never bought video game soundtracks to listen to on my phone until BL3.

You do realize your basically saying” hey we put money into this thing, got no profit, put out what content we already sold, but ya, let’s put more money into the thing are fanbase is currently trying to destroy” from 2014-2022, BTPS was widely considered the worst in the franchise, and still is imo, most of the games bosses are unfarmable without mods. I will always defend Sir Hammerlocks Big Game Hunt.
The atmosphere and visuals are great, it actually feels like a separate Continent of Pandora like it's supposed to be.
There's no reskinned enemies, this dlc has some of the best mobbing in the game, the savages and witch doctors are challenging and fun to fight, and change your play style to work around the shields and the witch doctors break phaselock.
The story is great too, Nakayama is hilarious and the banter with hammerlock is good.
The Gear is good too, the hydra, rough rider, twister etc.
The empty space is really only on the first map and it isn't really an issue because of the boats.

I love a challenge but I think the main problem is that you have to refarm your gear every few levels by fully resetting your playthrough. It’s such a stupidly designed system.
As for “just flipping a switch”… I mean, true to a degree but MOST players can NOT just go straight to M10 or 11 and will still need to start on lower levels and work their way up. I like Mayhem because you can CHOOSE how hard you want the game to be and then the real challenge is the endgame content.

As someone who only played wonderlands and Bl3
I have to say as for myself Flustercluck, Bounty of Blood, Cartels and GL&T are my favourite DLCs in any game I played so far
I loved the feel Bounty of Blond gave me with the storyteller and Flustercluck was just well a damn good Flustercluck

18:00 as someone who is a diehard destiny fan and borderlands fan, raids in destiny do have checkpoints. After you complete a boss or puzzle encounter you get a checkpoint you can return to if you need a break or respawn at if you all wipe.

Well I do love Mario Kart 64 from back when I was a kid, so General Knoxx is definitely #1! (I do love what the DLC pioneered in the series though and all it did for the game). Bounty of Blood and Revenge of the Cartels are my favorites from 3 and Tiny Tina's DLC and Snowman are my favorites from 2:)

Favorite DLC has to be Commander Lilith great loot sources with some great weapons like the Electric Chair, Peak Opener, Thumpson, and World Burn easy to get and can work with almost any Vault Hunter. Salvador with an Eletric Chair and Peak Opener is a great combo.

Yeah my top 3 gotta be Assault on Dragonkeep, Revenge of the Cartels and Bounty of Blood.
I actually like the Guardian Takedown too, simply for the unique bosses. outside of the bosses it was terrible though, but I do wish we had more takedowns for sure. or even a mode where main bosses all get Raid boss health bars etc.

I very much am in line with your list. I did in fact like Aurelia. She was and is a favorite vault hunter because ive alwaya been a huge fan of cryo. That being said. Her skill trees were lacking. Either straight cryo, sniper tree or, or multiplayer. Commander Lilith had a great story but if you were previously in op levels but not maxxed op level. It completely through off your progress. Speaking from experience there. Krieg story dlc was excellent

For me, the Ghast Call grenade does best with Amara and Moze, and they both have a version of the Speedloadin' Hellwalker, because fire damage for Moze, and fire damage, along with close range, for Amara. It's a surprisingly busted grenade.

My favourite DLC for BL2 of treasure Hunt and CoC (the two I have done so far) is absolutely Campaign of Carnage. Playing it and then playing the Treasure Hunt is just such a wild difference in quality.
In CoC, the action is constant, you are always fighting, the area was designed with combat in mind, areas don't feel overly long, and the game throws a reasonable amount of enemies at you. It also has two new super interesting characters, being TORGUE, who is high energy and always hyping you up, as well as Piston, who is a well designed character that is good at making you hate him. He is a cheater, an asshole and he makes you want to crush his head underfoot.
In the Treasure Hunt DLC, you are basically doing 3 fetch quests, the combat feels slow and unrewarding, the game is restrictive and personally ensures you aren't having fun, the enemies aren't satisfying to fight, the anchormen are literally just taken from the first boss fight and are not fun to fight at all. The fight with Scarlett, which is hyped up throughout the run rewards you with a ruddy revolver and is so easy that my grandma could do it with her eyes closed. The Leviathan fight is way too slow, and the large invinicibility phase once you destroy the 3 outer weakpoints really slows down the fight on an already tough boss. Scarlett herself has literally one character trait and it is that she is going to backstab you. She isn't especially cool or anything, nor is she fun to hate like Piston. I am purposely ignoring Oasis because that fight has literally no connection to the rest of the DLC beyond providing a super easy miniboss.

As someone who recently played BL1 again just because, and also played the DLC...the driving in the Knoxx dlc was awful. To be fair, you could quit and reload and end up back at the hub again, but that's horrible game design when you have to either do that or drive for 15 minutes through territory you have already been to 6 times. All they had to do was add portals to the other areas, even just one each, and it would have solved 99% of that. Knoxx himself was awesome, and honestly a bit wasted on that. He was hilarious and the recorders had me laughing out loud at how stupid they were.
Also, Mercenary Day is insane for a small dlc. For lower levels you just go in, do it all once, then farm the boss for tons of drops. Plus it was silly and fun. One of my favorite areas in Bl2
