81% Damage Reduction, 2429% Damage: Hunter PERFECTED [Destiny 2 Prismatic Hunter Build]

- I can't think of a single Hunter build in the history of Destiny 2 that can compete with this one. This is a brand new Prismatic variant of my signature Thunder Punch build that brings even more damage, far better survivability, and insanely good team utility. Even though we are 30 power under in the Master Lost Sector gameplay, which is even harder than a Grandmaster, this build is so ridiculously strong that it doesn't matter. This is the strongest Hunter has ever been.

It's good to be back! Is there a more fitting build with which to make my return? I don't think so. What else do you guys want to see?
Additionally, it has been brought to my attention that Synthoceps only provides a 30% damage bonus when used alongside Combination Blow, rather than the 165% that I implied in the video. It is still a decent option if you have yet to find Liar's Handshake, but Liar's Handshake will do significantly more damage overall.
I'd love to see some builds focussed around range. Or a build that leverages less popular aspects like gun powder gamble

good to see you posting again and what a way to come back. i remember using your original hunter build to get me started in the game but i took me way farther than expected. its currently my main prismatic build with liars now but once i get the class item ill be sure to try and get the roll you showed off. cant wait to see more from you.
Titan is next! Farming these exotic class items on three classes is really time consuming though. I've only farmed on Hunter so far :'(

Oh heck yeah really glad to see you posting again! Your videos got me through my flawless solos of Pit, Prophecy, Grasp, and Duality. Would be great to hear your thoughts on how new prismatic builds perform in solo dungeon content.
It's genuinely heartwarming to see that there are people who still remember me! Prismatic builds are great in solo dungeon content for their sheer flexibility to counter-build the dungeon. This one especially is a good choice due to how safe it is. Bonk Titan is probably still king overall for that kind of thing, but Prismatic isn't far behind in my opinion.

Great video! Liar's Handshake was my goto Arc build for years, and after playing around with a variation of this I think this blows it out of the water. I hated having the punch jolt with Arc 3.0 and then have the jolt kill all the weak stuff you needed to build stacks/heal, and I hated that if you missed a dodge refresh you could get stuck with both on CD. Prismatic fixes everything, because specter is infinitely better than the jolt proc and Transcendent resets your melee if you need it. Just utter perfection. I'm very jealous of your liar's/assassin cloak, that thing is incredible!
I'd played around with Liar's on Prismatic early on, but I hadn't unlocked the Strand aspect/super which meant no specter and no ability to get woven mail on demand, and it didn't quite cook the same as it does now.

THANK YOU. Every prismatic combination blow build I’ve seen so far has been centered around Stylish Executioner, but it’s way too solo oriented and Threaded Spectre seems so much more useful (plus it gives you an extra fragment slot).
Calibans is an awesome first column perk for the exotic class item but it almost seems unnecessary imo. I like the move of using Cowl instead and then leaning into Threaded.

I agree, Stylish is extremely overrated because the interaction with Winter's Shroud is the first thing people find out about in the campaign when you're working with just the base kit.

I'm not a fan of the 1/64 with no knockout system. Here's hoping they change it.

Glad i ended up with this exact roll on my 2nd class item - ohhh my 🔥
This is a great build - my only addition would be that I currently believe Void Overshield to be the best for Facet of Purpose bc it provides effective health (like Restoration - full Overshield = 45hp, each orb gives 22.5hp) and also Damage Resistance (50% DR - more than Woven or Frost Armor), and lasts for 10 seconds (longer than Woven or Restoration, on par with Frost)
A full bar of Void Overshield is 45hp but with the 50% DR, it’s actually effectively 90hp, which is basically another entire 50% of your full health bar.
Therefore it provides all the same (if not better) benefits of each of the other versions (solar, strand, frost), BUT it’s all in one, and instantly applies on orb pickup.
Highly recommend people look more into Void Overshield
I agree that Void Overshield is really good! The super is a lot more spammable too.

edit: also just a heads up, I'm pretty sure that because of diminishing returns on multiple mod copies, its better to have 1 hands on and 1 dynamo vs 2 dynamo, since you can only dodge again when you get a melee kill anyway so they should be happening about the same number of times
I got an exotic class item with Caliban and Liar. The Solar ignitions from Caliban is so good too. so much AoE chaos.

Was just thinking about how this combo has seemed to have been glossed over in favor of calibans liars, when back in the day the two arc hunter teams were assassins vs liars. Now, we are legion
Caliban's would be a lot better if the ignitions inherited the Combination Blow bonus, and I was really hoping they would. But from my testing I can not find any way to scale up the damage.
Assassin only needed in specific situations where you need extreme survivability. Otherwise, caliban+liar is better. Decoys are enough to distract enemies and you have enough regen. Its not about damage but clear potential. This makes this build as potent as sunbracers or turret warlock builds so youre one hitting big guys and clear entire rooms faster

Thats true but from my testing, i can just punch melee which triggers the ignition and if i dodge right after getting the kill, the targets are slowed and the ignition destroys the clone so the enemies cant escape the ignition or the threadings. Imo i think its a very good combination.@@Dorvarich
@@taylorsps12Spirit of liars and spirit of inmost light would be an awesome combo. Since you will always be using your melee ability, your grenade will always be up as well, just a few seconds after you throw it. So you could ad clear even more, toss an arc grenade to a group of enemies in the distance, or use grapple melee to close the gap and destroy everything. If you need more survivability in harder content, swap the clones for stylish executioner.
Haven't managed to unlock that cloak combo yet but would it work alright with assassin and synthoceps instead ?

I’d love to see your take on the renewals/cyd? (I can’t spell the woven mail on grenade cast) build!! Also while I’m the biggest combo blow fan in the world I want to make more prismatic builds that don’t just focus on it

I’ve only been able to run the Dual Duality once with my hunter and unfortunately got the Caliban/Liars combo so I can’t really use this as I’d like. I’ll have to keep grinding the chests or lfg more for your combo
A small detail i really enjoy with spirit of the Liar is when you have cross counter active it shows a spectral knife on your punching hand like you have Liars Handshake on.

As a fellow Arcstrider to another, my only suggestions are as follows.
Fragments: In future-proofing the setup, my suggestion is using "Facet of Dawn" to help apply the benefits of "Facet of Sacrifice". Currently this isn't an issue NOW but in the future, this would the remedy and would provide players an constant access to Anti-Barrier use with Shotguns (not including Artifacts mods for the respective season)
This being in mind, you would use the Core 3 (Courage, Protection, and Purpose) along with Sacrifice, Devotion, and Dawn.
BUT
If you decide to drop those last 3, my recommendation is to using fragments such as "Facet of Blessing", which giving HP regen for you (and for your team-mates while Transendent) or using Facet of Ruin, as you had previously said. It mainly comes down to what combination of the last 3 you want to use and how much you plan to take advantage of Transcendant.
As for Mod usage on Armor.
Head, in my experience, has been better as Hands-On + Dynamo rather than Dynamo x2. This is largely insignificant suggestion BUT one I felt mentioning.
Chest, I ALWAYS put on Melee Damage Resistance as it is based off distance of You and the enemy who damaged you. So being in Melee range, this will be constantly helping. The same applies to Concussive Resistance, since a lot of painful enemies (such as Boomer Knights and Minotaurs have attacks that are Concussive/AoE)
Stats. I always demand 10 Resilence and 3 Intellect. This is the bare-minimum as it's DR and reducing the base Super neutral charge time. All other stats, in my experience, have such a small effect BUT my suggestion comes to balancing out your stats and not tanking anything, including Recovery. A healthy balance after achieving 10 Resilence + 3 Int.
And finally, my biggest suggestion to you is communicating that this build, while it is VERY strong and has high survivability, explaining that at it's core. It is still a "Feast vs. Famine" setup. In Solo-play, this largely doesn't matter until you die but in Team-play. Your build involves punching and sometimes you will not get the time to do so due your teammates.
So my suggestion is properly warning that is this build boasts very strong neutral game but you can (and will) fall flat on your face.
OTHERWISE. Great video, great build, great advice. Keep it up!

Great build I just need the class item I haven’t even unlocked the mission yet because it takes too long to solo a overthrow and when I did solo one the wizard didn’t spawn
I use pretty much this exact build with a few tweaks but one major change in the stat distribution. If you slap on heavy handed and whatever the grenade orb mod is, doing a grapple melee seems to count as a grenade and a melee kill, dropping up to three orbs with reaper (I could be wrong but I’m generating a lot of orbs so something’s right) but instead of mobility I spec into strength for two big reasons. Firstly, 100 strength gives you your melee back faster than your dodge by a few seconds, and killing obvs gives you your dodge back after. But because you’ll be getting so many arc kills you’re actually going to be amplified constantly and that grants you a 50 point mobility increase for like 15 seconds. My current distribution is 100 Resil Disc and Strength, with 40 in mob plus the added 50 makes for 90 mobility
That's a very valid point regarding the melee cooldown at 100 strength. My thoughts are that if you mess up your loop, you're going to end up having to go in and punch an enemy for that first stack. In high level content, I'd feel a lot safer dodging to make a decoy and then following up with punches, rather than punching straight away, even though the melee ability comes back slightly sooner. But then again I haven't tried that myself so it's all speculation on my end. I'm going to give that a go and see how it feels - thanks for the idea!
I dropped this exotic combo this afternoon so I will give the build a try, but I have some doubts about how it will perform during boss dmg phases like master nf or champs that one stomp you

It'll be difficult to secure powered melee kills for the Caliban activation with that setup.

The relevant ones I took are the three bottom ones in the fourth column that give elemental buffs from orbs of power, and Shieldcrush and Transference from the fifth column.

I’ve seen a lot of discussion of the exotic combo getting rid of Assassins cowl and swapping it out for Spirit of Caliban. All I want to know is what the best roll is. Constant ignitions on top of this build or invis?
For at-level content, Caliban's is better due to the more immediate splash damage. But in higher level content, this will pull ahead.

Is spirit of the assassin really needed since we already have clones? I mean this certainly is a + but, if I don't have it on my exotic class item, it wont change anything fondamental about the build right? I just want to be sure If the build is playable without it

It's certainly playable; I ran an early version of this in parts of the day one raid but with Liar's Handshake instead of the exotic cloak. Before you get a good class item, either Liar's or Cowl will serve you well. Caliban in the first column is decent too, but the ignitions unfortunately don't hit very hard.
lol this is exactly my build to the letter! My only question are you sure 12P works well as is it not massively reduced with liars? Or is that only using liars handshake and not the new class item?
It still works well. 12P with Liar's is a 1.8x multiplier, vs the regular 2.0x multiplier without Liar's. So it's still very potent when used with Liar's
Rolled an innermost light and liars, and let me tell you it’s a grenade/melee/decoy/shroud cacophony of chaos. Golden gun for regen on orb pick up, heck use buried bloodline for devour. It’s my favorite roll so far
Hi, isn't the new arc super a better choice since Galvanic Armor on this season's artifact means Amplified gives you insane damage reduction?
We actually already get amplified! Since we're getting a lot of kills with Combination Blow, it counts as rapid arc kills and gives Amplified.
