I spent weeks on my 2020 Street RS Suspension. In the end, it is sprung way too soft for a guy my size, and in order to get even close to a 40/30mm front to rear sag, I had to dial in ALL of the preload on both ends, which just bound up the springs and made the ride harsh no matter what I did with the Comp and Rebound... So I just reset it all to the factory settings, dialed in Comp and Rebound as per the manual's "sport" settings, and called it a day. Bike feels fine at fast mountain pace and on track...
Took my 2020 RS to a shop and had the suspension done. Like yours it was not bad out of the factory but why pay for fully adjustable suspension if you aren't going to use it.. I told them I commute every day but want it to perform better on our mountain roads more than anything. They stiffened up the front and added a small amount of rear preload to get the bike on its nose more so than factory settings, also slowed down rear rebound slightly as he was sure it would unseat me on some of our roads - he did say it was fairly close at factory settings and the changes made were only modest. Handles slightly better as expected, especially corner entry and holding a line on rough roads. Comfort wise is no worse than out of the factory despite it being firmer. FYI I'm around 75kg in gear.
nice! Dax is a cool guy, i took my speed triple to him a couple years ago. ive been wanting to go back because i refreshed my forks with fresh oil and seals so its much stiffer now and ive been doing a lot more two-up riding with my lady
ouch! fcked up the collar! also used the same chisel to tighten, c'mon, he should have a proper tool for it. front preload doesn't change the spring tension. it only elevates the bike. but rear shock preload does increase the tension.
I need this done on my 2020 street triple r lrh. I'm not sure how to adjust it properly or whether I'll need a shock replacement in the back that is for my proper weight. Sadly no one around where I live in Ontario offers that service.

hello thank you for your video I would like to know here you can give me the settings concerning the video of the street triple rs because I have the same bike my settings are 3.5 turns in preload at the front front compression 4 turns front rebound 4 turns rear preload origin compression 10 laps relaxation 10 lap would you have any advice to give me knowing that I drive on the road my driving racing thank you in advance it will help me a lot cordially fabien🙏

everyone trippin on screwdriver and hammer on lock nut, lol..........very typical way to break it loose, when you work on bikes your gonna see marks, scratches on fasteners........had suspension tuned dozens of times and a few by factory race team mechanics and guess what they used to break the lock collar......
Who gives a shit about the suspension is there any handlebar risers you can get for this bike I checked out the Speed Triple 1200 RS love the bike the problem is way too aggressive position do they sell some kind of handlebar risers get it up higher for that bike
Get in shape I've done 220 consecutive push-ups can you do that I'm on the powerlifting team that's why I need to be more upright when you're done doing squats your back is sore I want to be upright when I'm riding are there any Riser stay offer for the bike.
@@richardcerritelli9657 being fit to ride a bike is not the same as being gym buff. Pushups mean nothing. If you need risers for an almost upright bike, you should probably just buy an adventure bike. These are sport bikes, not exactly designed for comfort.
@@PetroHead you're right I was looking at Adventure bikes but they'd be useless where I am mostly City and Highway nothing country a wooded areas I just love this bike but the bars are so far away I have short arms do they sell risers for this bike I have a GSXR Hayabusa right now to me that's too uncomfortable I just don't like to be hunched over. But I still want an insane bike are the upright bikes are for pussies no horsepower and torque that's why I was thinking of this with risers or zx1400 with risers.
No they don’t. Btw, using periods and commas on the internet saves lives (and avoids giving people a headache when reading it). Good luck finding what you’re looking for.

there's no freaking way I'd let a suspension guy near my suspension with a screw drive and hammer!
Was just thinking that
@@gerryparsons-qx4eqHe's not a professional!
pretty dump isnt it? theres a tool for doing that!!!!
Just mashed the lovely alloy castle nuts
Get a grip people...its not a chisel or screwdriver obviously. It appears to be a brass tipped blunt drift. Likely meant for this application.

He moved away now. Time to find someone else who is local.

Hammer and chisel to loosen rear shock top collar 😭😭
Why is this not good? I’ve seen plenty of videos on other bikes of people doing this
Those are some ghetto tools banging away the rear shock collars, very unprofessional. For a suspension tuner, he should have suspension spanners.
@@gothops154 because the right tools, C spanner’s, are the right tools to use and won’t ‘bruise’ the alloy
Love the explanation by tuner!
Also watch the R6 tune... and I also have one for the Ducati... all three combined, there is a lot to learn..
I have the exact same bike i am up in north county do you think you cpuld put me in touch with this gentlemen?
That was great. This will help to enjoy riding a bike is more fun, but also more safe. Grtz from your🇳🇱fan.

Was your STriple the same stock suspension setup as mine? Comment down below..
Hard to say. I put Ohlins forks from a 675 Daytona a couple of years ago.
That dude needs to buy the correct tools 🔧
spanner wrenches are cheap...

You let that guy use a hammer and a chisel to loosen your rear chock? And the way he is measuring... I think it is time for a different mechanic =)
haha! There is no damage so I am happy about that.
As soon as the mallet and screwdriver came out! I’d have left there pretty dam quick 😂
That guy was a ‘tool’ 😂
Do you know the how turns/clicks he did for the rebound in front and rear?

Everyone’s settings are different depending on riding style and body weight. Ask your local dealer if they know anyone who tunes suspension.
@@PetroHead merci

The guy worked out of his barn.. tells you all you need to know.
Hitting the rear shock with screwdriver. Barbarians.
Does this guy have a website, I'd love to get my suspension tuned by him
No web site.
Really? I wouldn’t let him anywhere near mine

pilot weight equipped 68 kilos
Wouldn't let him near my bike, yeah hammer and flat blade screwdriver should do it. No proper spring spanner.
