    Great tip! Thanks!
    Btw, in the case that you have a cut and split object you have first to select all the split parts and go to 'object>set origin> origin to center of mass' for making the tip work. I thought sharing the information may be helpful because I became puzzled working on a split object and found the solution after some search.

    If anyone does this for Unity, it's a good idea to first parent all objects to bones. Usually Unity has a hard time reading purely transform data of an object, so adding bones will make it easier to import directly from Blender.

    I was looking for a stylish transformation of parts with nodes. Nice and simple technique for exploding assembly but this method is linear so components overlaps another and then assembled. For instance @7.38 the brown gear which passing through a solid component. we might want to separate those overlapping parts and transform subject to timing and orientation which looks perfect.

  • @Brosion99
    @Brosion99 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    In case anyone else got the problem that the model doesnt explode upon scaling, try changing the "transform pivot point" (upper bar in the middle) to median point if you havent already.

    Great tutorial!!! I love coming and checking out your tuts and laid back style. Keep it up! Just out of curiosity, as you work with the 'exploded' view, what if you want part of the clock to 'stick' with another part as it's exploding? So for instance, with the clock at 4:19, you want the 2 'brackets' to stick to the back of the clock board as it explodes, as if it were screwed there. But everything else does the location transform as you have it set up. Thanks!

    • @andrewrichard3490
      @andrewrichard3490 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you could just join the 2 brackets to the back of the clock before doing the explosion - (Ctrl + J)?

    • @HerrKlamauk
      @HerrKlamauk 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You could join them with Ctrl + J, but I suggest to use an object constraint (Child of). This way, you don't create unnecessary meshes and can still use the single objects if needed.

  • @AAAdvantageDoors

    There must be more to this because it simply doesn't work for me at all. I imported an OBJ project into Blender that was originally designed in Fusion 360. All the parts are separate, and origin is set in center of each object by surface mass. After selecting all the parts, then selecting "Locations" under "Affect Only", scaling does absolutely nothing. Any idea why? I tried importing the same project again but this time as STL (experimental), and it worked, so it must have something to do with the OBJ format. I would like to use OBJ instead of STL to preserve things such as textures.

    Hi, great tutorial! I have one question though, is it possible for you to make tutorial about sequential forming of some assembly? In this example you made an animation in which all the parts start and end its movement at the same time and I would like to make animation in which movement of parts will be sequential. Using this assembly for example, if I wasn't completely clear, it would go something like this:
    1. assembly of few parts closest to plate
    2. assembly other few parts that are closest to previous assembled parts and so on until complete assembly is formed.
    Also, if I may ask could it be possible for you to do it using Action Editor because I need it for my following manipulation of that animation in Unity.

      Change the middle keyframe's Interpolation Mode to 'Constant', now move forward in time a little bit and with all objects selected, hit I on the keyboard and create a new keyframe. now change the interpolation back to whatever you want and all should be good.
