I was confused, but deleted my previous comment after some Googling. 701.13c An effect that refers to a milled card can find that card in the zone it moved to from the library, as long as that zone is a public zone.
I love its versatility! Both the pump play with Murktide, and denying the reanimate were demonstrated here, but I imagine there's more niche instant speed plays too.
@@eikumbokum Currently I'd rather see Murktide gone and let the frog live for a while. 2 mana flying 8/8s that can grow each other is a bit oppressive and has been for a while. Frog's ceiling is incredibly high, but it's floor is much more manageable and costs real cards to dodge red removal
@@olafthemoose9413 Losing Murk would also be a hit to Beans decks by removing their "easy" top end win con. They'll still have options what with the new eldrazi and Yorion, but they might be less likely to use Yorion as a pitch to force if it's one of the better top ends. Alternatively they dip into black for Bowmaster and Frog and use the beans engine to FUEL the Frog which honestly might be stronger than Murk but at least requires a bit more interactivity than just fetch fetch -> play cantrips -> oh look, my Murk costs 2 on turn 3-4.
1:00:30 I was like, wait, why is the token 2/2 and when the second token enters they're 3/3? There's no other artifacts and the Eldrazi is not an artifact... But if buffs **colorless creatures**, not just Eldrazi... That reanimate was a better play than expected.
In round 1 game 1 why couldn't you get the boots? I feel like getting boots, then Ancient Tomb to play the spear and equip the boots would've been good. Same amount of artifacts plus haste on the construct.
could a 1 of expedition map be reasonable to fish out that crucial land off of an urza's saga? be it ancient tomb, urborg, another saga or simply a swamp.
😂 they took the best deck in the format and gave it the best card in mh3! Love Psychic Frog. Showing the crazy versatility when he exiled his archon to frog in response to reanimate.
I currently have a love hate relation with Horizon sets. I feel like they are extremely pushed, to the point where they currently warp every format they are allowed. Its hard to say whats correct or wrong, change brings freshness to the game but it comes at the cost of destroying the win rate of lots of decks/archetypes for players.
Hey Phil do you remember about a month ago, when I specifically asked you if psychic frog was legacy playable, when the first 5 cards were officially spoiled for MH3? And you said it was a cool card but you thought legacy was too powerful of a format but you wished, well guess what I think I was right for once about a spoiler for the first time I. My life. I hope someone donates to see a frog deck, and I hope you try to break it like you did Dauthi void walker! Those were awesome videos!
Yeah, the discard ability ended up being WAY stronger than I initially thought. Psychic Frog ended up being the best version of that type of creature ever printed. Whoops!
@@ThrabenUniversityit's literally the only spoiler I ever got right, and it was probably just a fluke anyway! Haha! The whole point is, is that it looks like an awesome card for Dimir! Do you have any plans to play around with it or any interest in it?
I wish people would define aggro without the need to win early. I always felt that tempos job was to map out the entire game with chunks of damage over the game while throwing in a marit lage to chunck you for 20 or pacing yourself by ramping up to midrange to hit someone for 6-8 also feels "Aggro". It is just that the original aggro deck was also a tempo deck. Definying traits of an aggro deck is the "throw a punch when somebody shows weakness" aspect. A control deck runs you out of resources while the aggro deck does not wait for that, it makes you use your resources before you can get any back. A known aggro deck should force you into acting immediatley once they enter the board. Atleast that has always been my philosophy.
i'm pro greif ban cus it feels like you can't have black in your deck(outside of combo decks) without greif, reanimate, and troll or you just handicap yourself for no benefit
basically this was a Psychic Frog showcase video, considering how well it performed in different decks and scenarios
When I first saw psychic frog spoiled, I immediately thought it would be a staple 2 drop in many UB decks in the format. Love seeing it go off!
43:27 doesn't goyf's trigger go around leyline?
It does! Even though the end destination of the milling changes, it’s still a mill so it can still get the card back after that action.
That's what I was here to point out

9:41 lavaspur boots use ancient tomb to play shadowspear and equip boots?
A Golgari version with Tarmogoyf would also be interesting
Turn one goyf, turn two goyf, turn three goyf. Lol
Golgagoyf
I like it
Pyrogoyf for the top end. Jund Goyfs.
The perfect curve goes "goyf, goyf, goyf""
Psychic Frog seems kinda busted, from what I can see.

ThrabenU is literally the only thing that makes me care about Legacy
In MH3 draft I had my opponent play T2 Psychic Frog, T3 Psychic Frog, then I quit the format forever.
Bit extreme but I know the frustration.
I played an OTJ draft game at FNM last week where my opponent went T4 Roxanne, T5 Goldvein Hydra, T6 Stingerback Terror.
You could play psychic frog and newcro together, draw a ton of cards and pitch them to frog.
In round 2 match 2 i tought you would have loved an additional urza's saga in your starting hand xD

Guaranteeing spear to resolve was pretty important

I dunno why you don't play Sheoldred alongside Necrodom? Looks like they're made for each other?
29:18 but Phil, you can't run Teferi in this deck 😜
I am convinced that any 3-mana black creature that does something will be playable, thanks to Dark Ritual.
13:30 I just learned a new trick :)

Seems like nethergoyf is BFF with a DRC style deck. I imagine a rakdos shadow or scam deck would be good
This deck could use the frog instead of necro- bin whatever card type you have at instant speed to the frog and it draws you 2 a turn

Should have tried golgari and played all the lhurgoyfs, especially the aura that can make a tarmogoyf each turn
Good to see MH3 is just as impactful as MH 2.
are we still playing exsanguinator cavalry, really ?
its best use was getting imprinted into chrome mox

4:15 any consideration of running a miser's Urborg to at least give the deck an out to making B off the colorless lands?
4:52 nevermind! 😂
Why not play golgari goyf 😗 for the actual Tarmogoyf
BBB for dominance + urza's saga + ancient tomb makes playing a second color really, really difficult

Should put Underworld Dreams in
Y'know.
Just cuz
