So many nuggets in this conversation! One thing Justin said about ideology is so true. I use to be a deeply entrenched Republican. One day we were going around knocking on people's doors to see who they planned on voting for and in that moment the Holy Spirit was like, 'Would you do the same and tell people about Me?" In that moment I stepped all the way back and realized it had become a form of idolatry, as Jackie mentioned. (this was my own personal conviction)

👋 that was me. Deeply entrenched conservative. Hated the left because they promote such a godless society. Then I heard Holy Spirit say that Jesus called matthew and Simon the zealot and that I am a zealot.
I still hold my convictions and political beliefs, some things softened like immigration policy, but Im not gunna kill over them nor hate democrats.

I absolutely love the wisdom Justin brought to this conversation. This is exactly the shift we need to bring relationships back to humanizing one another again.
I’m a conservative Christian and the whole time he was talking I assumed Justin was too because I have similar thoughts that he expressed.
When he revealed that he’s been a democrat his whole life, I was even more impressed that he has the communication skills to appeal to all.
This is the way we used to chat before so much was available at our fingertips.
Lots of folks think Trump was the start of the division, I blame social media.
Because I’m conservative I was more into trump than Hilary & Obama, but I also have never sang the praises of Trump because he’s flawed as well.
It’s very true that when you correct the folks on your same view points about their attitude toward the opposite political party that they aren’t kind. Or they assume you’re flipping.
But I think this new generation of folks is all or nothing on ALL TOPICS. Like we have to totally agree or we’re “bad” or “weak” or “hateful”
    Again, LOVED THIS CONVO!

This was very helpful for me. I stopped claiming to be a Democrat when Joe said if you don't vote for him you ain't black, which I felt was ignored by too many black true christians. Although I do not agree with the character of Trump, I did agree with many of his policy decisions and I would not vote for Joe. The separation of a political party from an individual persons views is critical so we don’t dehumanize each other, especially during election season. 25:43

Right but regardless of the person inning, they are either furthering the Devils work and agenda, or at least trying to stand against it. As a Christian, you can't vote someone into office who would mock God, His creation and gender, or killing His children. So you have an obligation to speak out on these things in a way, and stand against a party trying to demoralize anything God ordained

If we listen to those we disagree with we humanize them. we may even gain mutuel respect the ability to truly converse to move in a direction together through growth, through knowing each others stories…be curious about your neighbour, ask questions, get to know them rather then assume you know where they are coming from. That humility to find out about people will increase love , hey and spread the gospel!

You guys are so refreshing. I’ve never resonated with another couple so much. You balance freedom in Christ with biblical values and keep it real 💯 I loved his response when you asked him what he wanted to promote, like ..nah, thank you guys for just being you. Obedient, surrendered and sharing it with others in practical ways. I love how you even addressed how people will hear that and immediately disregard him for being democrat. I don’t particularly side with any political party but still searched my heart about how I felt when you called it out. He spoke truth and was so graceful, I appreciated his point of view.
There is true discernment here and you show it in (almost haha) all of your episodes. But grace for the times you don’t because I’m there with ya just being human and doing my best to give it all to Jesus. Your wisdom is 🔥 and glorifying to the Lord.

Very high level conversation, I do believe politics itself has and always will be a system put in place to divide the people. Whether you’re a democrat or republican Christian you are now divided regardless if you see the other as a person or not, you are still voting against them and by default this dilutes Christianity. My question to this conversation is, why do I have to have a political party to get to know someone on a deeper level about their ideology and preach the gospel? Because when you involve yourself in politics you are just by default picking a side, whether or not you want to understand the other side’s ideology, if you aren’t going to vote with them you vote against them regardless of how you try and frame it which in itself is you participating in division.

As a pro life supporter and a conservative voter, I always think of the mother as well as the baby. I was a teen mom myself and a pastor’s daughter, I know first hand the judgement from the church and the world ( so from religious people and nonbelievers).
Two things I learned some religious people looked down at me judged me as sinner right away their disappointment in me was heavy, worldly non believers judged me looked down at me like my life was ruined and I should have had an abortion, I was a dumb loser to them .
Both conservatives and democrats judged me.
Now there were true believers on both sides republicans and democrats that also loved me and treated me with kindness. They told me my life wasn’t over, God had a plan and purpose for my life and baby’s life. They didn’t judge me but they were there for me.
So at the end of it all, it’s about those when actually have the heart of Christ and speak life into those who are in darkness.
I’m a believer because I have seen a life without Christ, and I know the pointlessness in that life. I know what it is to be a lukewarm Christian. I don’t agree with Christians who are democrats, simply because that’s what lead me towards lukewarm religious views but I don’t argue with them or try to change their beliefs. I understand they think republicans are for rich people and white supremacy, and they can’t see the democrats are truly for those things.
I rather continue to walk in love as brothers and sisters in Christ doing the work of our father, going to the lost and bringing the light of his love. There is a better and fullness life in Christ.
    God bless.

The problem with politics in America is one party seems to go against just about everything scripture says, under the guise of helping people. The other party aligns itself with scripture (on the surface at least) but sometimes at the expense of helping (some) people. So the vote becomes what can you tolerate, what seems to be the lesser evil of the two. Trump has become the scapegoat for all things socially unacceptable. I see it with Biden too. White people overlook it with Trump, black people overlook it with Biden. We won’t even get into the levels of office under the president.

Agree. I don’t understand why a Christian can associate with a party that supports policies that support abortion and transgender in children. I democrats is not for poor they are for keeping you poor and slave to the government.
Republicans are not about white superiority or for rich. Republican s simply are for making this country better stronger and free from government control. Their policies align with a Christian ideology regardless if the government leaders are not Christians themselves.

shoutout to you all acknowledging that trump's presidential (lack of) decorum brought a new level of contempt to political conversations, tribalism, etc. it's frustrating when evangelicals in particular act confused as to what lit the match for the countries division that's been exasperated over the last six years. grant it, his presidency didn't birth all the division, but it framed the lack of decorum as brave, which emboldened people to be dehumanizing to the "other" side. and acting as if ANYBODY is out of the scope of God's grace or less than an imagebearer of God, for any reason, especially because of how they've voted, is the devils work.

This was a good video especially as a Black radical leaning towards communist/socialist who champions for the oppressed and marginalized communities. At first I was super leftist and went with what the world thought was right. But now I align myself with what Jesus would want. My “controversial” view on abortion is it should be available in extreme health crisis and health crisis to the mother. Like Preston said people do not focus on why why women get abortions and I believe we should focus on funding communities and given women resources and options to want to keep the baby. My main motivation for politics IS helping my neighbor.

You can't do that, and vote into office a party who is attacking everything God created and what he deemed right. You can't support a party that mocks Him, His image, in the name of "helping your neighbor" ...you are not helping your neighbor by paving their road to hell.

Can ya do a video talking about natural Affection in the body of Christ. Many people shy away from embrace in the black community but other cultures have no problem with hugs. So your peers greet you with a holy embrace? Could the lack of this type of affection from family and brethren be a reason why many flock to sexual immorality
