The bolts were threaded into the flange. We get those almost exclusively up here in Oregon. You can cut them flush and retap if you ever run into one again. Push flanges work too though!
Enjoy your videos; you are an excellent plumber and always make a good job of it no matter how bad the situation is. Perhaps more sacrifices to the plumbing gods could spare you so many headaches. Keep up the good work.
Crazy re-do set up on the supply pipes in the first place! Looks way better after you were done. Just for my own learning, why not just unscrew the remainder of the supply pipe and use a shorter nipple (no pro-press)? Thanks for the video!
@rsmith7292 i tried but couldn't get any leverage on the pipe wrench. I could only fit my 14" wrench in there and a 1" galvy fitting from the 50s or 60s wont come out without a lot of leverage on a 24" wrench
@@pershingplumbing9007 oh! Thanks for explaining -- I also thought t might be that you never know if cranking on one joint might cause leaks down the way on older plumbing...
Idk how tough it wouldve been to break the 1" nipple loos and throw on a brass street 90 then go from there , in the moment you wanna do what your set up fro , but honestly trynna press in the wall like that aint gonna always be the best go to , love the videos bro
If your afraid the the nipple squashing from the wrench , smack a 3/4 nipple in there and itll keep the strength up , if its a 3/4 nipple smack a 1/2 nipple and and unthread
I'm not a plumber professionally and never worked with the steel pipes, so is there a reason why someone wouldn't have just soldered the new pipes instead of cutting the vent to use pressed fittings?
Hey nice work brother! Have you came across the viega mega press transition coupling IPS to CTS ? I came across them and love them. They are must have.
@marsman716 oh maybe but I wasn't willing to risk causing more issues by doing that. I would have had to open the wall up more to be able to get my shoulders back there
Someone else patches up the wall? I'd think that should have been done before the tank was set on the bowl... Now it's a real tough job to put in wallboard and compound the joints.
@johnphillipsplumbing7148 u think I didn't try that? There is no leverage and I would have had to open up that wall to get back there. Not willing to do that when I have fancy tools to make it easier
I love your videos. Nice job, as always.
Great content as always thanks for narrating your thought processes, best plumbing channel on TH-cam

That flange looks like it was from the Titanic but you figured it all out pretty well. Thanks for the video.
That was like a Murphy’s Law toilet replacement lol! But you got ‘er done bro!
I feel exactly the same way about the twist n sets haha. I buy those Sioux chiefs ones up from supply house love em
Should have installed a flushomter toilet, since the original toilet to the building was a Flushometer toilet.
It looks like there might have been enough space to use a 10" rough-in toilet, avoiding the re-plumb.
But now the Toilet must come up again to repair Wall😁
Drywall guy problem, not plumber problem.
Pull the tank
@@daveh9755 That's IF the Drywall Knows How.
man that was a sad display of plumbing lmao.

Great repair, a nightmare of a repair!
Plastic shims are handy if the floor is not level, but the flange needs to be level.
I see that you used them under the toilet edge. Very effective.

Have you ever had the cast iron blow from using those push tights?
never
Dam bro, I feel ya. Haven’t had one of those days in awhile but definitely been there and had my a$$ handed to me like that a few times.
the dunny is a must have at any cost
We've all had Jobs like this....one thing leads to another...
why not sweat the line,... pro press is cool but soldering would have saved time
As soon as I saw the 90° reducer elbow I was like "oh f***!"

you can't solder to galv steel. You need to pro-press on an adapter
off set flange might of fured the toilet out a bit .
@cominginhot1 best comment right here. Didn't even consider that, haven't ever used one. That would have worked too

Fun video and good job but what About the wall lol.
@@jackbower8846 drywall guys job
Great job 👍⚡️💰
Megapress 90 probably would’ve given you the clearance to not have to cut that steel back further
@@shanefroio1098 i didn't have any! So sad
Nice work.
Are you an actual professional plumber?
im sure he is!!
I lost my mini channels. I sure miss them
After all that angst, this customer is going to block it with wipes within a short time, Just to annoy you more.
could you have cut and cape the nipple out of the tee?
@marsman716 yeah I could have capped it but then I wouldn't have any water
@@pershingplumbing9007 cape the nipple out, as in cut the threads and chisel it out.

@dock_yard1149 nah it's easy to patch walls
@@pershingplumbing9007 Won't you have to remove the toilet so they can patch it?
@Ariel1S not at all, my guy carlos patches behind toilets all the time but I'm there to install the toilet, rest is on them
