John , when using pipe dope on the flex connector threads , make sure you don’t get any on the sealing flanges. I used to get so many gas leak calls from people doing there own flex connectors and pipe doping the whole connector including the flanges . I know you know better but maybe stress that to others to keep the sealing flanges clean . Also , those fittings were so loose , I might have done a 5 min. shadow test on the meter before lighting anything back up ,just to make sure no other leaks inside . Keep on piping brother 😎
You can use a flex on an outside meter if you wrap the flex line in some kind of weathering tape or wrap . It is supposed to be protected from the elements.
@timothyglasscock1643 I believe the yellow sheathing is rated for exterior use,but you are correct about the protective tape, thanks for you Comment and sharing your knowledge
John how was the equipment, boilers and pipe on a US Navy Ship, they use to transport me over seas on a Helicopter Carrier, out of Norfolk Virginia back in the late 70's never got to see the boiler room. Great job Joe H Navy SeaBee
Its called an appliance connector for a reason you hack, take the extra 5 minutes to hard pipe it. It may not be wrong in the book but it looks like shit
Those connectors were designed for stoves and dryers because they need to be moved to access them. I get it's a Saturday but damn man don't post a video for everyone to see if you're gonna do some shit like that. I think you're funny as hell but I'm gonna bust your balls for something like that
John what brand are the work boots you wear. looking for a good comfortable pair of work boots, I know wear Meindl hiking water proof boots, Which are very expensive but really good boots. I work on oil and propane boilers. furnaces. dig trenches to run lines for the propane in New Jersey. will be relocating to Saint Augustine Florida in the summer my daughter went to flagger college 10 years ago and never came back, Now she teaches there. my wife and i fell in love with it. Thank You Joe H Navy SeaBee
@robbwallace7034 I have never seen black pipe in a house in Florida, I have piped many new houses in Sarasota, we only use galvanized, period. You research it if you don't believe me. I was working on an existing system on a new house and it passed final inspection and got a certificate of occupancy. What you do,where you live, does not apply in Florida
It needs to be hard pipe, going to the regulator the gas company’s gonna turn it off and lock it when they come to read the meter you should know better than that Johnny✌️
@Pipesolutionsinc the main regulator off of the meter is hard piped,I don't believe it will be an issue, if they have a problem, 2 nipples and a union, do you wanna bet?
