Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints….. never broken the rules ~ common sense seems to have disappeared. The island is beautiful 😍 important to keep it that way.
Morning Mike thank you for informative information look forward to your catch up every saturday..thanks mike very much appreciated ..cheers colette from trim
As usual Mike Very useful information, like the majority of visitors to the Island I treat and respect it like it was my own place and always treat the locals and the properties with the utmost respect after all it's where all of you live and I sure wouldn't want people to come to where I live and litter up the place. Keep up the good work always look forward to receiving news about my favourite holiday Island. Incidentally have always been treated really well by the local inhabitants.
Hi Mike, keep up the great work with the videos, finding them most useful. Went to Mancha Blanca for the craft market today after you mentioned it in your 3 things to do. We had an excellent time there. On the subject of the airport, we landed at around 11:30 yesterday morning and were directed straight to baggage claim, no passport control, no checks, nothing.
Another very informative video Mike. Many thanks. As an aside, we flew into Arrecife on Friday 30th August, arrriving at 12:30pm. Have NEVER seen the airport as empty as it was, and took us approx. 5 mins to get through passport control. A similar situation yesterday when we left, with zero queues at the baggage check-in areas. Would appear that Friday is a decent day to fly.
Just came back from Lanzarote for my 11th time in 40 years. Love the magical Island and your TH-cam Channel is exactly what I need before going back next summer. Keep up the great work Mike and thx for the update on the street closed near el golfo, its been years that I have wondered what happened... I remember using that road years ago and the view was amazing!!
@@LanzaroteInformation btw, maybe you already covered it, but Las Brenas is a gem and I have been staying there for years, maybe a small drive by in a video would be amazing :) Cheers!
We came lasst November and at Christmas and the weather was the best we had ever had in Winter. Hope it's the same for us this year. Thanks for all the information.
Great information as always Mike. Hope the delays aren't too bad when we arrive back to the island on Sunday 🤞. Missed your 3 things to do on the island this week as we are always looking for new ideas 💡
Sorry, and as I said in a few other comments, all my mistake. I completely forgot. You can read everything that’s on next week here: whatson.lanzaroteinformation.co.uk/events/list/
Thank you, Mike, for another excellent video, a great start to the weekend. I was interested in your comment re the returning guest to a hotel. We have also been coming for years and have been going to Hipotels la geria for 32 years and had over 100 stays . Just love the island and enjoy getting out and about when here.
We have just arrived at our rented apartment in PdC, we estimate that from wheels down to leaving the airport in our hire car in 25 minutes!!! Can anyone beat that?
Hiya! We went to lanzarote 20th July, passport control was v busy but we got tru in bout 35 mins ! Coming home was a bigger drama but that's another story !
Hi Mike not long been back from a wonderful holiday in Lanzarote, my question is why are the so many buildings that are half built and not finished around the island?
They each have a story - some were illegal builds and on some the developer went bust. The issue is the court process to get them knocked down takes too long.
I enjoyed your blog this morning. Could you possibly help me with a question I have. Is it still possible to move to Lanzarote if you don’t own a home in England or have huge amounts of cash?
Good morning Mike, sterling information as ever. We are leaving tomorrow sadly however our entry was seamless, assisted travel was brilliant and straight through passport control and the onward journey to our rented villa, here hoping exiting is the same which I don’t doubt. Hopefully the idiots not respecting the island will be dealt with the authorities. Have a lovely weekend. Best regards Linda & Andy 🏴
Great video as usual 👍 but to be fair Ryanair should have waited until there fare paying passengers was on board Airport may have not had enough border control officers on duty but that doesn't let Ryanair excuse for taking off without paying passengers
We went through passport control at Tenerife in June. We had to provide finger prints and have our photos taken before entry. If we fly after the EES deadline, are we likely to have to repeat the process for Lanzarote?
@LanzaroteInformation it was absolutely fine got through lanza Airport pretty fast tbh , had afew beers at that tropical bar aswel outside , The worst part was getting the car when got out of Gatwick it took over an hour waiting for the Indian lads to retrieve my car from a field. I said to my partner we won't use that company again we'll park in airport for alittle extra money But yes it was absolutely fine getting through airport. I think I worried because how bad it was when we arrived at lanza and took over an hour to get a stamp
Hi Mike, another very interesting and informative video, you fail to let us down and may that continue. Out and about this morning and saw a lot of islanders in full traditional costume on their way to Dolores festival. It was lovely to see that so many of all ages on the walk. Are you and Jules taking part? We were wondering, how long does the walk take from Haria? It must be exhausting!
We normally walk from San Bartolomé every year, but this year, Julie is walking from Uga with a group of our friends. I was meant to be with her, but I spiked a foot on a cactus, so I’m on housework duty!
@LanzaroteInformation Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear about your injury, hope it heals quickly. Good luck to Jules and her group. Do groups from all villages participate?
Great videos thank you. Just a quick question can I use my UK Disabled Blue Badge in Lanzarote. Made enquiries in May when on the Island but couldn’t get a firm answer. Thanks
Hi MIKE, I dont know if you can help but we noticed online that the la garita beach restaurant/cafe in Arrieta has been demolished apparently in 2023, do you know if it is being replaced. It seems so sad as over the years we have had some lovely meals and good times there. Thanks for your very helpful reports.
Yes, the Chirringuito has gone and the owner has retired. Haria town hall is hoping to put a new building on the same spot and find a tenant for it, but there are a lot of planning hurdles, so don’t hold your breath.
That was me! I was shooting a video for this week’s newsletter subscribers, so if you’re one of those, you’ll see it on Friday. You should have shouted hello! 😃
I got a non lucrative visa and planning to move to Lanzarote next month. I would be great if you talk about the process of finding a renting long term accommodation. Perhaps interviewing a few estate agents etc.
Hi Mike, sadly this is the second time in a number of weeks this unfortunate incident has occurred and no party it appears is accepting responsibility for the chaos, leaving individual passengers to find their own flights back at additional cost and worry. As you say - not good enough and bad publicity for the Island. (Family of four flying back to U. K. with Ryanair on Monday evening - hopefully. 😬
My family came here for almost 3 weeks from 31st July. after a 4 hour flight almost 2 hours waiting for passport control in a very tight passageway with 2 small children. Despite that they enjoyed a wonderful holiday.
Another interesting update. We come twice a year to Lanzarote & never had a problem at the airport hope its the same this visit at end of month. Thanks again. X❤

Can you please help again. Coming over to Lanzarote in January. Rely heavily on a mobility scooter to get around. Would love to take a trip to Rubicon marina but getting around there would be impossible without a mobility scooter. Have hired one for our entire stay and wonder if any cab company offers a service to take a full size mobility scooter and two adults from Los Pocillos to Rubicon marina. Would be grateful for any help you can give
@@SandieThompson-q7n I don’t think any of the cabs will be able to take a full sauced mobility scooter. But you could book one with these guys for the day and they will deliver it to meet you at the marina. islandmobilitylanzarote.com
As they already scan everyone's passport on arrival and departure, they know exactly how many days visitors are staying. So why the need to fingerprint every visitor, to know how long people are staying? Once EES starts, my visits will stop.
So that’ll be 26 European countries in the Schengen zone and the USA off your holiday list then, respect your principles but you may end up with Skegness or Clacton as your holiday spot.
Based on what we’re hearing now, the worst case scenario is that you might be delayed an hour getting through passport control. But many, many people are getting through in less than 30 minutes.
Not if you have solar panels. But why assume people choose EV’s only because they’re green? I didn’t. I chose ours because they’re much faster, much quieter and much cheaper to run.
