    Hello!
I'm from Lanzarote, thank you for promoting my island and showing the different places there are.
I would like to tell you that the next time you go to "los hervideros" is a place near the "lago de los ciclos" (the green lake). It's free and it's amazing to see. Another place I always recommend, and it is very unknown, is the "Centro de Visitantes e Interpretación de Timanfaya" (Timanfaya Visitor and Interpretation Centre). It explains how Timanfaya works inside, as well as a simulation of an eruption.
    Best regards

Lanzarote! The only holiday in 56 years of life that I didn't want to come home from. We took our kids on a coach tour of Timanfaya, the "Lunar" landscape was so surreal. The locals were just so nice. There was nothing about this holiday that I didn't like.

At 20.40 the stone bowls with the troughs of water are water purifiers. In old houses there is always a niche with a hollow stone called a pila. There are traces of volcanic mud in the porous stone and a fern called culantrillo is encouraged to grow on it. You can see the plants growing in the vid. The plants and the porous stone purify water which is collected below. There are lots of water saving traditions and devices here, as it so rarely rains.

Great video, Tim. One small thing about Timanfaya is the bus tour is included in the entrance fee - you just get on one of the buses at the top of the car park and you get a 45 minute bus tour round the rest of the park.
Also, if you are going to visit multiple attractions, you can get a 6 centre ticket for £35 which covers the cactus gardens, Timanfaya, James Del Agua, Cuevas de Los Verdes, Mirador del Rio and museum castle San Jose, which is a massive saving on individual entrance fees (you have 14 days from first attraction to visit them all)

Lanzarote is a lovely island. I’m envious of those who can live there full time. I would recommend the bus trip through Timanfaya and visiting the more eccentric and off-beat attractions. I’ve never been disappointed there.

I really recommend the coach tour. It was 15 quid each for two adults, we got to stop for the camels, and the shows the guys up at the restaurant put on for us. We didn't have time to go into the visitor's centre though or souvenir shop or restaurant. The skill of the coachdrivers and the view, as somebody who is quite well travelled is literally a hidden gem in Lanzarote.

We loved it in Lanzarote, been numerous time and stayed in the area you've just covered. We stayed near the San Antonio hotel on the outskirts of Puerto del Carmen near Los Pocillos where you started your video. Some fantastic restaurants from Eastern European to British fish and chips. The Bollywood Indian restaurant was our favourite tho absolutely fantastic. We used to have a steady walk down to the old town and harbour to watch the Manta Rays eat the scraps from the fishing boats. Lovely restaurants around the harbour area too. Anybody going to Lanzarote must do the Volcano trip around the lunar landscape to the green lagoon a bit of wine tasting and a ride on the camels. Can't recommend it enough folks. We have taken many friends with us over the years and everyone has really enjoyed it. Used to go end of June early July which was hot and November around Remembrance Sunday and it was mid 20s degrees most days. Enjoy folks, we always did.

Lucky enough to spend 2 years living on Lanzarote until 2011. There's some great beaches in small coves you can have all by yourself. Yes many are clothes optional. Playa Quemada is my favourite seaside village.
Go to Puerto Calero and marvel at the super rich yachts moored here!

It’s so nice to see Lanzarote on video so clear and beautiful. However, Lanzarote isn’t all about money Tim, there are so many places to go for free. The island itself is magical and just be there is a gift as tourist or local .Please please if you are doing a video make sure you get some knowledge before hand such as 1000 years old lava?. Apart from that thank you for sharing with us a little piece of paradise.

Funniest thing when I holidayed in Costa Teguise Lanzarote. Had this horrid boy about 10 kicking my seat & generally being really obnoxious on the plane.
On the way home he was behind me again but this time was sitting quietly & I wondered why. I then listened to his mum talking to someone, turns out he was quiet because he'd fallen onto a big cactus a few days before & needed the needles removing at a medical centre.
Shouldn't laugh but I did giggle slightly before sleeping enjoying the quiet

Just back from there earlier this month, stayed in Playa Blanca this time and Costa Teguise last time - did Timanfaya trip then, worst bit was, you only had about 20mins free time up at the volcano, most of the rest of the half day trip was either driving somewhere or sales pitches in an Aloe Vera "museum" or vineyard. Definitely an island worth visiting!

Hi Tim. I love the volcanic museum and the lava caves. I found them really interesting. The views were amazing and the national park was deafently different from any others I have seen a landscape all to its self. I also enjoyed the rock formations too.

Most spectacular scenery in the Canaries. Avoid the expensive excursions, rent a car and go to all of the attractions on the island yourself. Get to Timanfaya early to avoid the queues. Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes are right next door to each other and are spectacular. Mirador del Rio at the top of the island is breathtaking.
Go and do it, you won’t regret it👍🏻

Hi Tim, great video. So glad you explored some of the island.
Did you know La Graciosa is rumoured to be the original ‘Treasure Island’ as per the book.
The ticket price at Timanfaya includes the coach ride which is amazing!
    Lanzarote is a UNESCO biosphere.
If you visit again go to the Valley of a 1000 palms (every time a boy is born a palm tree is planted !)
Rachael Whelch was made famous for the film sequence of her emerging from the sea at Papagayo (The land that time forgot).
Also you can get to the beaches by water taxi in the summer.
Yes a great island for those that want more than a ‘all inclusive’.
    Regards Graham

We went to Timanfaya National Park 3 yrs ago, highly recommended. We parked up in the rain (yes it does rain) and walking through the steam off the car park up to the facilities was surreal. We had a fantastic meal in the restaurant and the included coach trip is highly recommended. At times it was like being on Mars (I guess) ! Never been to Lanzarote before but was very impressed as we moved around the island. My tip is if you go, get there early to the park, it can get very busy.

I'm afraid I do know it as 'Lanzagrotty' from an experience back when I worked on ships. A very scraggly man pulled his trousers down in the middle of the town square and did a number two on the floor. Me and my friend couldn't believe what we saw and told the waitstaff who just laughed to their mates and pointed and said, "kaka!" I think it might have been relatively normal for them from their nonchalant reaction!

I visited lanzarote many times most recently the end of august. I stayed in the hotel just behind where you started the video. I loved the scooters going up and down the coast every night and on the last night when to the airport which was the opposite way you went and watched some planes come in Truly my favorite place

I'm hoping to visit very soon and was wondering if you could tell me how accessible the island is as a whole for someone that can't drive? Is there good public transport?

Hi Tim, great video! I actually stayed in the very hotel you can see directly across the road @1:18 back in May 2022! My girlfriend and I took the scooters down to puerto del carmen and we agree the road gets very bumpy and dangerous, she actually fell off her scooter at top speed and grazed her knees and hands pretty bad. the flight home wasn't too comfortable for her!

When I was there, it was actually free to park and watch the demo. The bus ride was the part that you paid for and believe me. It was pretty much the same.
Still a nice place, but 12€ is a bit steep.
