Yeah, the Taramasalata was the one I would have gone for. But, for me , the 1300 made my mind up that the 1250GSA is the one. Just picked it (Triple Black) up today from Bhanstormer Alton, Hampshire this morning . . only just got home an hour ago @6:00 pm. Loved every second of it. Hoping for many many rideouts and trips on it going forward.😎 Ride safe everybody.
Hi, I took it for a test ride after waiting so long for it to come out. Was so disappointed I bought the trophy 1250 GSA what a great bike and they threw in the aluminium luggage result
@@steviepaynter7456 Excellent, a result indeed. I can't believe I finally have the GSA. I keep going into the garage and look at it. Here's to many many great miles ahead 👍
I was looking at the new GS today. As an existing 1250 owner I’m not intending to get the 1300 and that’s purely based on looks. As someone else said, I’m far more tempted by a Guzzi now. Why get this 1300 when a VStrom looks the same but much cheaper.
I've got a 2020 factory loweted 1250GS TE Exclusive that cost £16.5k. Nearest equivelent I can see on the configurator is now nearly £20k which isn't far off what the outgoing 1250 would have cost me so it's a no from me and I've opted for a 1250RS SE with a few ticked boxes for 4k less. It's almost as if BMW and Ducati are in a race to see who can charge the most for their bikes for the bragging rites down the pub.
I waited to see the new 1300 before making a decision, I think after 5 GS’s I’m leaning towards the new Guzzi, fantastic new colors, something that has kept me from buying another GS. When Triple Black is your best color something’s not quite right. Maybe BMW should hire the Moto Guzzi color/graphics Dept in the future.
@@expatbiker6598 That new Guzzi is a stunner. It will make riding fun and memorable. The GS is just so common, and boring. Absolutely removes the "Fun" from motorcycling.
It seems to me to be aimed at smaller people or people who like slim bikes i bought my gsa because of its girth and road presence i had lined up a test ride on both gsa and gs but i never bothered testing the 1250gs
It's not designed for us 1250 riders there looking for a younger demographic , I have 15k on a TB R1250GS best bike I have ever owned in 46 years of biking, mine is 2021 asked (just for fun) how much to change-£9 k yes 9 thousand GBP, nuts !!!. Then the dealer tells me he has a waiting list for the 1250 s coming in.
23k? Darn, that's a lot. I don't know if I can compare the 2023 ktm 1290 SAS with this BMW, but I got it for under C$19k. That's about 12k pounds. I'm sure the GS is a great bike, so have lots of fun with it.
I wonder how the hell you're supposed to deploy the centre stand.. No one, but no one has covered this yet... It seems you have to put the bike on the side stand first, then bend over to flip the hinged thingy out .. but then, the rear foot peg is in the way to get your foot on it...🤷♂️
I just feel that they tried to please all of the people, all of the time. I am reminded of the movie "Pentagon Wars". They started with a simple enough target. Then others put their two cents in and you are left with a failure. They took one leter of fuel away to make place for a bigger cellular box. You can just as well put your cell in your pocket and have the extra fuel. Weather it is worth it or not. That depends on how much you earn. I don't, but even if I did, it's always better to by the last of a series, than it is to buy the first of a new one. Most of the kinks have hopefully been fixed on the outgoing series.
If the pannier was undone with the key while the bike was switched off (i.e. ‘centrally locked’) it needs to be locked again with the key before the central locking will work again. It can also be switched off in the menus if it’s not wanted (according to the User Manual) 😉
Im going to sound like a stalker now but i clocked you in the dealer yesterday checking out a Tarantula. ;-/ Was going to say hello but you were chatting with a sales guy. I popped in to have a look at the 1300, ummm not sure its for me on first look. Be very interested on pillion perspective as it looks smaller to me. Reckon youre in Stoney Stratford?
Mate please say hello, bang on with Stony, next time you see me in dealership I will get you a coffee and a chocolate bar. That’s why I go in so much to steal chocolate bars and sell them on. Pillion or rather (wife) or better known as ( line manger) was quite vocal.
Always makes me curious about people who keep buying the latest G/S, what is wrong with the old one ? Is it a case of the old one is running out of warranty and to pay to get anything repaired out of warranty extremely expensive ? I think I will stick with my old Suzuki DR 650, thankfully it was originally designed back in 1996 and never changed in 26 years of manufacture, guess they got it right first time, bit like my 2023 Suzuki DRZ 400, originally built in 2000. 😂😂😂😂😂 Guess what ever floats your boat but the 1300 will be outdated in 2 years when they build a better one. No offence just taking the piss 😂😂😂😂
Love the DRZ such a shame we can’t get them here but I have the use of one in Australia and it’s a favourite, I did smile when you had to tell me you were taking the piss, you must be a nice person, not many around these days which also means you must be old.
"Well, I must say, if hairdressers are riding bikes like the BMW R1300, I might need to reconsider my career choices! Who knew hairdressers had such a taste for high-performance motorcycles? But in all seriousness, the BMW R1300 is actually a beast on the road, designed for those who crave adrenaline and crave the wind in their hair, or helmet in this case. So, if you ever feel like trading in the scissors for throttle, this bike might just be your ticket to an edgier hairstyling experience!" Saying that I’m bald, cross runner it is then!

the King of adventure is the Vstrom lol and better reliability, only plus for BMW is the after sales support,
I so hope the bike performs well over time

I’ve not seen this Guzzi I need to go have a look
If an alternative to a GS is a Guzzi, then GS was never for you. Good luck taking an adventure with an Italian bike that's not a Ducati.

When you order one select what model you want. And the options for them to get what you prefer and muffler too one or two.

So, are the decals on the bike not under the lacquer top coat, but proud on the surface?
Cutting corners.
Exactly although that does appear to be the same as the 1250s in the showroom, the green one is under the lacquer

As far as the exhaust sound and installing a different muffler, it has been said that the 1300 has a muffler installed in the Mid Pipe section.
I don’t think it’s removable 😢
So complete system then, expensive

I'd definitely keep the R1250GS or R1200GS
I'd sooner get a Vstrom or Versys and get a sports car with the change😊
Not impressed with the looks of it yet. But could be because I just bought a 1250 GSA.
The 1250 will give you miles of smiles
Hmm, the second bike I've seen reviewed where the central locks aren't working.
I’ve done two vids bitching about it, was it me

I have the bike that goes with your jacket, no 132 😊
I like that jacket , it’s my easy throw on, can’t afford BMW branded clothing
I'd buy it

I’ve never got a chocolate bar in there. Owen, told you he was an internet star didn’t I 😂
Does it have one cooling fan or two?
One, right side.
Just the one attached to the bike plenty in the showroom they are called salesmen
Cymarc have already developed a display anti-theft device👍🏼
I need to see that then
