Honestly, my goal was to get into reading and I did that. Started in May and I've already read 19 books. It's amazing what I can do when I need reasons to procrastinate my last few master's degree classes 🤣
East of Eden and Oryx and Crake (the whole maddaddam-trilogie) are some of my favorite books! I really hope, you will like them! - And read them in the first place of course 😅 ❤
Also, I am reading East of Eden right now and it is sooo good. It's gonna be a five star new fav book and I am only on page 217. I am very interested to hear Raelenns opinion the the Atwood fantasys...I read them and I have lots of thoughs
Mansfield Park took me several months to get through (I kept stopping and starting to read again after several weeks had passed), but it has a very specific atmosphere and I loved Fanny, the heroine. The only Austen book I have left to read now is Persuasion! About the names of places thing, as someone living in Europe it sounds very normal to me actually 😅It would sound weirder to me to have someone describe where they live as 'off the highway' instead of giving a place name.
Love the new art! I think the goal Ariel made for 12 classics was a bit much. I think she read about 30 books last year, so that would be a 1/3 of reading classics this years. Seems like a lot, especially with reading so many new releases
My cousin and I have a yearly argument at used book sales where he tries to convince me to read The Art of Fielding. I point out that it's disappointing that it's not about Henry Fielding, which I expect it to be. He points out that it's about baseball, but I don't really care about baseball. He then says, "Well, it's not really about baseball, either..." to which I exclaim, "Then what is its point?!" And then we both continue looking through fiction.
Why did this episode of "Books Unbound" disappear yesterday? I watched it in its entirety on Sunday but then it vanished and didn't reappear until Monday morning.
I noticed that too but I think it was an early upload error. They’d announced on the Patreon and I think the instagram that new eps will be coming out Mondays now instead with early access for Patreon subscribers on Sunday
