I like the way the curtain (or window blind?) lowers at the end of the podcast.

Thank you for changing the upload date to a weekday! I don't watch youtube at all on weekends, so this is perfect 😊

Love the rebrand, guys! Was I the only one that didn’t like having music during book game? It kept distracting me slash making my zone out and I found myself having to constantly rewind because I couldn’t pay attention to what they were saying. I prefer it just as the intro to book games! All with love🧡🧡

Ruben! I just have to say that you for the unwind representation always! It was fav YA dystopian growing up, and I feel like it never got the hype it deserves. I’m rereading it atm actually! Your last mention of it on the pod inspired me. Love you guys!

For a non-fiction take on food, any thing Micheal Pollan has written is amazing

I had to read bonjour tristesse in high school, and let me tell you the back cover does not even begin to describe how off the rails it is

Love the episode! During the book game, could you turn the music down lower? I found it a little distracting. Thanks so much!

i was so ready to order 'Days At the Morisaki Bookshop' because the way you described it seems like ALL VIBES but the usual stores I order from don't have it? and even Amazon, my last resort, is out of stock? what the heck is going on with this book in Europe LOL
Raeleen is so right - it's so difficult to focus on books by the pool/beach for some reason lol i've resorted to reading non-fiction if i'm going to those places but thrillers are also a good idea!
btw i think there's a new 'The Hole' AND 'The Factory' covers coming in the style of the 'Weasels In The Attic' cover - i got really excited about that hahah

I bought a beautiful copy of Bonjour Tristesse like 2 years ago and I still haven’t gotten around to it. A big mashed potato book for me for sure.

I agree with your opinion regarding translation. However, in Hungary, there are so many bad translations that doesn't make any sense. One reason is because anyone can translate books or other things that are not formal documents, they just need to acquire a paper from the tax office. Even if they don't really know the source language... Other reason is the book market where they probably rush the release of books, so there's no time for a thorough translation work, which is unfortunate. Not to mention that, for some reason, they prefer calque, even if the book loses it's meaning and essence. I get really annoyed when I "see" the English sentence structure behind a Hungarian translated book because it feels like sloppy work for me. 😩

I cracked up when Ariel said Raeleen’s saddest quality was her dislike of Muppets 😅 (For the record, I’m not much of a fan of Muppets or claymation either!)

I agree with you, Raleen about not liking claymation. It creeps me out and I refuse to watch anything in that style.
