Hey dude, another thumbs up for doing another dad remembered video. We gotta honor them. They did their best in raising us, it's the least we can do. Love the Deuce.
So happy you got it running and all it was is a starter cant beat that now you got a crazy good deal on that beast! So awesome you still get to have dinner with your mom id be coming over every night for dinner i lost both my parents already and I'm 29. Always enjoy your videos cant wait to see the future with the deuces!
Pretty sweet! You know, you ought to locate a PARTS rig for your TWO Deuce and-a-halves! Lol. Do you have any upcoming plans on what you are going to use them for specifically? That is a lot of tonnage to have to move around constantly and for any length of time. Have fun doing what you do. I enjoy your videos!
Careful with those shoulders Ike. I have pulled my left arm out of socket nearly a dozen times. Been a while since it has happened. Hurts like a bugger. Had an MRI and physical therapy. They said I was born without a muscle or some weirdness on the back side. Cool truck.
Those starters can be rebuilt if you can get the parts. As an army vet who has worked on them. If you find the parts rebuild it they usually need it often.
hey ike big starters like that i tie a small rope around to help hold it place as well as pulling it up or down . great video buddy keep up the good work
Just a tidbit of info o the brakes. The system is air over hydraulic, so if you don't have air pressure you don't have brakes. So start with the sir system first. And the difference take 80/90 gear oil, to the tune of 5 gallons per diff.
love this channel , bro you have to make this into a camper :) thankyou for the content , offroad camping with trikes or classic bike trail riding . recently inherited a 1970 suzuki ts250 i need to fix :).
Turning over on first try after replacing the start was very surprising. I bet the start could be disassembled and repaired. Maybe the bearings locked up or wiring issue.
If you haven't already check out steel soldiers, there are manuals and parts for these trucks there, as well as tips for fixing some of the common issues.
If you need to change or upgrade your headlamps or turn signals, they are universal with our modern military Vehicle Such as if it fits on a humVee, it'll work on the deuce and a 1/2.
Before you diagnosed the starter bad, I would have bet a billion bucks that it wasn't bad. Those trucks are made with durable crap not like today's stuff. I would have looked a bit harder.
WOW. Another great video Isaac 👏. This Old Man from Washington NC enjoying all your videos. Looked for you at the auction this morning. I didn't stay long. 🛻🛵🧔💝
Hey Isaac I'm behind a couple videos on you so I'm gonna watch them now you have a great day it's a great purchase right there for parts they're getting scarcer and scarcer and the governments getting tighter and tighter and release them to the public
Try to remember, that is a multi-fuel engine so when you take it to the gas station you can put in whatever is cheapest that day . Oh yeah you really didn't have to worry about the brakes because nothing you own is going to damage your deuce and a half😂😂😂
What fluid did you put in the front end. I heard you say trans fluid . You should have put 85/140 in it. As old as it is I would put Lucas 32 oz Stabilizer first then put the rest 85/140.
Man I wish i didn't know what you were talking about when you mentioned that you have bad rotator cuffs. Mine are damaged from a lot of abuse from motocross type riding without official tracks. Just hard offroad runs across some seriously rough terrain. That's not to mention my many years of BMX and mountain bike experience. Then there's the sludge you drained out of that thing. If I didn't know better I'd swear that was pudding... Seriously gross.
you should have left the camera on just incase you dropped that starter i like you but i wish i had a camera rolling every time i hurt myself at least i would have made money from it
Looks like old prestolite starters I've rebuilt a few of the 24volts also don't a bunch of willys jeeps starters and genarators also nothing but a Thang lol
The genuine look on Ike's face when it started was so awesome. Congratulations!
Thank you so much!
@@isaacitllbefine7231 most military trucks utilize air over hydraulics braking system
I so love old analog diesels. Sit forever and still run, and run forever after that.
A couple bunk beds and a work counter for a propane stove and you’ll have a sweet setup!
That would make a nice CAMPER ! Great video.
I love the sound of a proper big boys truck, so happy you got her started.
Great to see another one back on the road. They are so fun to drive.
Pretty sure the City drove that truck through flood water on multiple occasions. Glad to see you're bringing it back to life.
The title not needed we all knew you would get it started and running. Another thumbs up video. Thanks for entertaining us
That is too awesome great find that camo paint looks good

Thanks for sharing and taking us along
I cheered out loud when you got it running. Scared my wife lol. Nice job, love the truck!
That was some yummy looking chocolate milkshake! Doubt it tastes very good tho. 😁
Good solid canvas to turn into just about anything you want :)
Two and a half tons of fun right there!😂
I met your brother today. Stopped by the bicycle shop to pick up some parts. Super nice fella.
Careful with those shoulders Ike. I have pulled my left arm out of socket nearly a dozen times. Been a while since it has happened. Hurts like a bugger. Had an MRI and physical therapy. They said I was born without a muscle or some weirdness on the back side. Cool truck.
Friday!! Best day of the week!! Have a great weekend Ike!!

Spray paint touch up will brighten her up!

Looking good 👍👍
I'm glad to see you got the runs! (giggle)
❤pure awesomeness Ike! Now make a go-kart out of it 😂😂😂 jk that's sweet I've always wanted one but can't find anything in my neck of the woods
That is one cool rig!
hey ike big starters like that i tie a small rope around to help hold it place as well as pulling it up or down . great video buddy keep up the good work
Been waiting to hear it run !!
That would make one bad ass camper

I always have loved these old trucks I always wanted to bob one with big tires and rear steer.
Your vids are the only ones on TH-cam I watch all the way threw
Don’t forget about the park break lever on left hand drivers seat. And only DOT 5 fluid. Good truck tho.
Luckily, around here in NC, I know a couple spots that do starters & alternators. Nice to hear it fire off!
There's no such thing as friends, just aquatints with a a mutual desires.
Turning over on first try after replacing the start was very surprising. I bet the start could be disassembled and repaired. Maybe the bearings locked up or wiring issue.
You could turn that into a self contained camper since you can stand up in the back of it.
I spent a few hours in the back of the Deuce & a Half at Ft. Leonard Wood for basic training in '72.
I live up the road from Ft. Leonard Wood. about 40 mile east i-44
you cant beat old military trucks !!!
If you haven't already check out steel soldiers, there are manuals and parts for these trucks there, as well as tips for fixing some of the common issues.

That thing needs a turbo stat!!
SO cool man. Now you are set for the apocolypse...hahaha...
You got that right!
If you need to change or upgrade your headlamps or turn signals, they are universal with our modern military Vehicle Such as if it fits on a humVee, it'll work on the deuce and a 1/2.
Thanks for the info
Nice save!
Very cool man
Always need the camera when your going in lol 😂
Pretty cool!
I wonder where that truck has been. Bosnia for sure but all other theatres of war since the 1970s I guess 👍🏻🇬🇧
that is awesome.
You could fit alot of subwoofers in that😂
That's one big starter
Cool !
good find
Before you diagnosed the starter bad, I would have bet a billion bucks that it wasn't bad. Those trucks are made with durable crap not like today's stuff. I would have looked a bit harder.
Whatever happened to the other guys Deuce he was selling? I thought you said title issues might be an issue. Great video, loving this....
great stuff thanks

That's gonna be a sweet setup for under 2grand
Awesome ❤
Thanks 🤗
Amazing. What an interesting rig. Offroad potential???
Nice!🎉
Looks like an event Command Post.
Ihe problem is the steering wheel is on the wrong side, not the busted door handle Ike.😉🤣👍
👍 👍 💯
Hey Isaac 👋 hop you doing good day
Love the truck
I like massage you Isaac I have 2 lawn mowers if you like
Yo dude iv never clicked soooo fast lets go ike
Hey Isaac I'm behind a couple videos on you so I'm gonna watch them now you have a great day it's a great purchase right there for parts they're getting scarcer and scarcer and the governments getting tighter and tighter and release them to the public
It'd be interesting to see just how many MPG this monster gets.
You need a magnetic mount for your camera. You almost always have some metal around you when you're working.
Good 🍀To you Man... I hated working on these.😏
Always take the fill plug out first. If you drain it and can’t get the fill plug out…you got a big problem.
Very true
Judging by what came out of that diff, the truck must have last eaten at taco bell... :P
I hope you blead the hydrovac = brake booster big canister with air lines and brake lines coming in and out by the master cylinder.
man if you were able to buy the starter off that spare engine surely you could see about buying the turbo setup?? :)
Wondering why that coolant pipe has been cut 0:47
Try to remember, that is a multi-fuel engine so when you take it to the gas station you can put in whatever is cheapest that day .
Oh yeah you really didn't have to worry about the brakes because nothing you own is going to damage your deuce and a half😂😂😂
Ha it's alive it's alive the question is now what to do with it maby a c&c hauler lots of room for carts and bikes in the back 😊
Love it but what’s a practical use for that thing when top speed is 50mph?
You need a backup camera on that bad boy!
Did you use DOT 5 brake fluid?
Next project,
Flame Thrower?
What fluid did you put in the front end. I heard you say trans fluid . You should have put 85/140 in it. As old as it is I would put Lucas 32 oz Stabilizer first then put the rest 85/140.
Ive heard several things but I saw a bunch of people put 80/90 gl5 I think. Dont hold me to it. Ill have to look again this weekend
Have urs rebuilt and use or swap it back to Brian
It needs better head lights
Stabilisation force truck used by NATO

Looks like old prestolite starters I've rebuilt a few of the 24volts also don't a bunch of willys jeeps starters and genarators also nothing but a Thang lol
