Dylan, just wanted to say that it's great to see the way you're bringing Brier (hope I spelled that right?) into the picture more. Fun to see him growing in confidence and the two of you working together so well!
Dylan has a lot of knowledge. Not too many of us have ever set up a differential.
A friend of mine set up differentials all day long, his specialty, in a big diesel truck shop.
Love watching this comeback. In the late 70's, I had a 1970 Road Runner, beep beep horn and all. Only had a 383 Magnum, and that car was Fast hehe. All I did was swap carbs with a Holley, distributor with an Accell Dual Point and big yellow coil. Speedo went to 150, but the fastest I ever went was around 130mph with plenty of pedal left. Wasn't the best hiway to do that on hehe...
I had to chuckle when you two tried to pull the pumpkin out. I saw the axels in place and thought, wake up boys.
My dad had an old Plymouth Belvedere I think it was a 68. As a kid, I remember we removed the trunk lid, put a fridge in the back of the car standing up, and drove it home from the store. Knowing that the trunk was wide enough to hold a refrigerator is amazing
certainly dont make them like that anymore 😂
Dylan just so you know if you spray a little soapy water on brake fluid it will neutralize the brake fluid and stop it from eating the paint
Good to know!
Never heard that. Interesting
Can you detail why ? And any soap or something like dawn and how much soap to water?
I never knew the soap trick. As already asked, dilution and soap brand??? Many thanks.
^^^^^
My uncle had a 1970 Roadrunner when I was younger. It was a similar blue and had a GTX hood on it. It was the first Mopar I ever drove when I was 16. It rotted out and back then you couldn't get the replacement panels you can now, so he sold it.
Information on your projects are an absolute understanding of how to go about replacing and using old parts to save money is spot on. Love to see more of your build, like to see engine and drool some more, love the color. Cant wait to see you burn rubber.
I think that’s awesome. You had all those parts saved the brake lines. The front end that rear end that is cost-effective. Can’t wait to see you put the motor in that. Looking forward to part three
Looks like a great project. Im enjoying this series tremendously.
Let us know if that diff is noisy… I’ve been a Ford Master Tech, nearly 20 yrs. Personally, I would not re-use a gear set on a new carrier. I’d be too worried about gear noise. Although you’ve set your backlash (and assuming pinion depth) correctly, it does not mean the wear pattern on the gears won’t cause noise. Due to machining tolerance differences between new parts.
BUT! Maybe it won’t! You do you McCool
I just set it up how I’ve done it in the past reusing ring and pinion gears. They have been quiet for thousands of miles.
The Plymouth is coming along nicely great job you guys, I got a little bit of Yup on the boots over there thing with the paint been there failed to remember that and now am wearing through red primer and a small giggle at the everyone forgets to pull an axle out moment.
The engine bay looks amazing 😊
Car is coming along nicely 👌 😀 Dylan
To remove e-brake cables from the backing plate, use a hose clamp to compress the fingers on the clip, pull the clip part way out, loosen the hose clamp and pull the cable right out.
Great trick. Thank you.
Good job Dylan on the build looks awesome 🎉🎉
Looks awesome Dylan and Briar.......It is coming together!!!!!!! Can't wait for the next one.
Just writing to let you know I love watching y'all! The Dukes of Dodge/Chrysler! Such awesome entertainment.
One more bowl of ice cream and you gotta send Briar in to do that rear gear install.
😂😂😂
Since I moved I'd been looking for a new church and found Dylan McCool and he's been my pastor ever since.
Like the general lee wheels on the donor car
great job you two have become an "A" -team it's a pleasure to watch you
One of my favorite cars Dylan and Bryar! Great video y’all!
Well done on getting your audio sorted 👌🏻👍🏻. I'm excited to see this car come together, it's looking sweet.
Dylan man yall are the best!!! By far the best car content on YT. God Bless, stay humble my friend that’s why your so loved
Enjoy your vids Dylan. Not many people have the love for the old mopars.
Question: What year cordoba is that proportioning valve from? My dad did disc conversion to his 70 charger and never put in a proportioning valve. It just has the manual drum distribution block in it. Thanks. Keep making the great vids.
Great stuff guys thanks😊
Good Job 👍 to both of you 👍
That stuff is always amazing. Wish I'd be there
I never reuse U-bolts. That's not a place to save money. I am enjoying the build and looking forward to more. Cheers! 😎👍🏎🏁🏁
I hope you are going to change or fixing the front passenger side fender it would look a lot better
Looking good you two 👍👍👍👍👍🎄
Looking like a show car, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Im really loving this build. Thank you
Dylan, thank you SO much for actually purchasing a LSD for that 3rd member rather than being cheap and welding the spider gears like most cheapos would do. I would NEVER do something that cheap and janky on something that I plan to drive and take pride in because it'd make me feel SO cheap and stupid. That's like taking a torch to your springs or something over buying lowering springs or coilovers. It's whatever on a piece of crap that you just plan to beat the heck out of and scrap, or sell to someone who runs demo derbys, but it's something totally different to do it on something that you plan to drive and love.
What a beautiful car!! Can't wait to see it done.
@@dixonmopar2129 how true.
@@dixonmopar2129 that's very true!
Looks great, awesome job guys 😎❤️🙏🏻
I am glad you saved the car but why not repair the huge holes and massive dent in the passenger quarter panel. The only way to save it is to remove the rust and weld some new metal into it.
Put a set of 2in. dropped spindles and a set of longer adjustable upper control arms ., I did it on mine and much better handling .
Damn near my dream car 69/70 Roadrunner...... Warms my heart.
Yes sir mighty fine ride! I would still rock a bench seat on that bad boy.
Hi Dylan and Brier nice vehicle and video 📹 and workmanship looking Sweet
Hey Dylan Hope you're doing well I always leave a like even before watching because I know it's going to be good..
We need more of this car please
Dylan, I know this is about the Petty tribute car and I love this build, but was curious what ever happened to the body swap project on your Dads old truck?
Excellent Video Dylan :) & Bryer super work on this car and be classic to take vehicles shows also win prizes on !
This car is looking great Petty would be proud 😮
I noticed the old rear end had slapper / traction bars mounted to the springs. Why didn't you reuse them?
I guess you could wire-wheel those U-bolts. Then run a die on them to clean up the threads.
Do you have a sandblaster or media blaster? Maybe run the exhaust out in front of the rear wheels?
Or get new ones for $40
@8:30.
Don't ever reuse "old rested u-bolts". If you have to do this, then understand the failure potential of reusing such old hardware increases greatly.
The reason the impact won’t take off the tight U bolt nut is because the U bolt shaft is acting like a “torque rod” tool and flexing like a spring. Did you use a wire wheel to clean the threads first? Tough job regardless!
A little heat helps them sometimes, too
You should make a playlist for this build ❤
Great work guys love your videos
You need an induction heater. They work great.
That Beard !!!
Hey Dylan thank you for the video
A little heat helps to loosen stuck bolts
It’s awesome. Looking forward to the next video
Is that rust stop in the gallon oil based you use?
The Dodge truck glovebox lid😍 are all cracked ☹️
I think with all the work you’re doing on the suspension, rear, motor etc, you should have done a 1/2 azz body repair. Pole Barn Garage could give you some easy fiberglass instructions. IMO😊
OMG!!! WHAT SHADE OF BLUE DID YOU USE??? THAT'S NOT THE SAME SHADE IT WAS AT THE BEGINNING!!!
He just buffed it out ? Only thing he painted was the door and engine bay .
Heck yeah brother I’ll liked to see if your building up that cornet brother
Cool car!
Nice job sir Nice Plymouth Nice show sir 😃👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍😍
how has big john been holdin up lately? that is my favorite series that you did
Need to fix it completely and make a superbird tribute
Greetings from Ukraine!!! I really like Plymouth
Just curious isn't spray paint easier. Awesome car
Best way to get a parking brake cable is a small hose clamp.
Best looking car Chrysler ever made 70 road runner, gtx
Grew up around a 69 road runner and gtx . My lucky cousin ended up buying the road runner from my dad he has both those cars today setting in a garage both perfect and never gets driven
hey dylan. i came here to ask about the dodge diplomat. i have some advice to fix issues. normally those engines (idk if you are using a 318 or 360) but i would upgrade to a turbocharger size meant for a 6.0L LS V8. a 76mm single turbo. the current turbo you had was too small (especially for a 360. or 5.9L) basically causing the engine to be choked in terms of power. i hope this helps.
The tail lights remind me of when I was a little kid my dad had a dodge corenet it seems like the tail lights are the same
Hello Dylan and Briar
I wonder if some PB Blaster would have loosened up those U bolt nuts.
Doesn't matter. They should never be reused.
Love this car Dylan
It's gonna be a bad ass car
So you should call this the clone runner 😁
Wait…is there going to be a tribute Superbird in your future?!
Awesome.
Dylan you should turn it into a superbird
Hi million just wondering are you going to put the tramp rods back on the car ?.
Why no penetrating oil or heat on those U bolts ?
I didn't see a gasket used on the axel retaining plates.
@@rgbigdog Green bearing has an O ring.
Heat is our friend!
Hey gtsy just stopped in to say take care
Let’s get the negative BS comments out of the way so you everybody can get over their crap and not post it
Blah blah blah talk talk voice blah blah blah that isn’t right blah blah blah that ain’t the way I did it in 1922
Keep doing you my man. Your content is awesome!
Yeah, but reusing rusty old U bolts is not a viable plan, man. 😂
@@Pedroisanicknamethings don't rust like that in the south.
Next time use your torch heat nut red hot then quench with water do this 3 times the expansion and contraction will save old u bolts
Just curious wouldn’t it be better to fix the dents before you paint or buff
Never re-use U-bolts.
I actually agree.
Hi Dylan
Where do you find these cars!??
Dylan Car looks great coming along nicely, a word of advice from an old mechanic and engine machinist. Where air protection trust me I know what I’m saying. When I was in my 20s I never wore it. Protect your eyes and your ears. Trust me. I know what I’m saying my friend. Good luck with the build looks great.
You are correct, paying the price decades later...
Yeee Yeee 😊😊😊😊😊
Hold the ubolt from moving and the air gun will take the nuts off the bolt jumping takes the shock from your air wrench
Do you understand how bolts work ?
wire brush before you attack the u bolts and wd40 if you are old like me ha ha. nice car!!!!
👋💪👍
Green bearings for autocross? Not for long lol.
