Dylan, just wanted to say that it's great to see the way you're bringing Brier (hope I spelled that right?) into the picture more. Fun to see him growing in confidence and the two of you working together so well!
Dylan has a lot of knowledge. Not too many of us have ever set up a differential. A friend of mine set up differentials all day long, his specialty, in a big diesel truck shop.
My uncle had a 1970 Roadrunner when I was younger. It was a similar blue and had a GTX hood on it. It was the first Mopar I ever drove when I was 16. It rotted out and back then you couldn't get the replacement panels you can now, so he sold it.
Let us know if that diff is noisy… I’ve been a Ford Master Tech, nearly 20 yrs. Personally, I would not re-use a gear set on a new carrier. I’d be too worried about gear noise. Although you’ve set your backlash (and assuming pinion depth) correctly, it does not mean the wear pattern on the gears won’t cause noise. Due to machining tolerance differences between new parts. BUT! Maybe it won’t! You do you McCool
Dylan, thank you SO much for actually purchasing a LSD for that 3rd member rather than being cheap and welding the spider gears like most cheapos would do. I would NEVER do something that cheap and janky on something that I plan to drive and take pride in because it'd make me feel SO cheap and stupid. That's like taking a torch to your springs or something over buying lowering springs or coilovers. It's whatever on a piece of crap that you just plan to beat the heck out of and scrap, or sell to someone who runs demo derbys, but it's something totally different to do it on something that you plan to drive and love.
To remove e-brake cables from the backing plate, use a hose clamp to compress the fingers on the clip, pull the clip part way out, loosen the hose clamp and pull the cable right out.
My dad had an old Plymouth Belvedere I think it was a 68. As a kid, I remember we removed the trunk lid, put a fridge in the back of the car standing up, and drove it home from the store. Knowing that the trunk was wide enough to hold a refrigerator is amazing
@8:30. Don't ever reuse "old rested u-bolts". If you have to do this, then understand the failure potential of reusing such old hardware increases greatly.
I am glad you saved the car but why not repair the huge holes and massive dent in the passenger quarter panel. The only way to save it is to remove the rust and weld some new metal into it.
Let’s get the negative BS comments out of the way so you everybody can get over their crap and not post it Blah blah blah talk talk voice blah blah blah that isn’t right blah blah blah that ain’t the way I did it in 1922 Keep doing you my man. Your content is awesome!
I guess you could wire-wheel those U-bolts. Then run a die on them to clean up the threads. Do you have a sandblaster or media blaster? Maybe run the exhaust out in front of the rear wheels?
Just wanted to let everyone know that if you get a car going really fast and directly impact a tree with significant force, it will almost instantly change the entire look of the car, BUT if mess it up you could significantly also change your overall mood and well-being. These are the most recent results from my experiences thus far.
Dylan Car looks great coming along nicely, a word of advice from an old mechanic and engine machinist. Where air protection trust me I know what I’m saying. When I was in my 20s I never wore it. Protect your eyes and your ears. Trust me. I know what I’m saying my friend. Good luck with the build looks great.
@Rasputin-p4e I'm not shitting on anyone just a dumb move reusing old stretched u bolts I've seen cases of rear ends falling out and destroying quarter panels due to old u bolts
@Rasputin-p4e I've been watching Dylan for over 5 years and I love what he does but that doesn't mean if you see something that can be approved on you shouldn't call it out would hate to see a nice car destroyed due to $10 u bolts
If you insist on using those stupid k mart type rear shackle extensions, at least cut off the part hanging down. It looks so 70’s hack the way you left it..
WISE people use battery terminal brushes and a whole lot of cutting oil to clean the threads on U-bolts, and let them soak for as long as humanly possible before attempting to remove. PERSONALLY, I would have a die and chase the threads before attempting to even loosen, let alone remove the U-bolt nuts.
Why would u reuse U bolts for one...even a bum like me wouldnt....lmao....n 2...why would you put a 43 on that...cmon...anyone that knows pettys..NEVER had a roadrunner or satellite with a 43 on one....FALSE ADVERTISING MUCH...LMAO..😂😂😂😂
Hey do you have a link for the urathene bushing that you put in you the leave springs. Links to the parts you use would be helpful, with a /dllonmccool to help your site.

Good job Dylan on the build looks awesome 🎉🎉
Looks like a great project. Im enjoying this series tremendously.
Dylan just so you know if you spray a little soapy water on brake fluid it will neutralize the brake fluid and stop it from eating the paint
Good to know!
I had to chuckle when you two tried to pull the pumpkin out. I saw the axels in place and thought, wake up boys.
Car is coming along nicely 👌 😀 Dylan
The engine bay looks amazing 😊
One of my favorite cars Dylan and Bryar! Great video y’all!

I just set it up how I’ve done it in the past reusing ring and pinion gears. They have been quiet for thousands of miles.
One more bowl of ice cream and you gotta send Briar in to do that rear gear install.
😂😂😂
That stuff is always amazing. Wish I'd be there
Like the general lee wheels on the donor car
That Beard !!!
Looks awesome Dylan and Briar.......It is coming together!!!!!!! Can't wait for the next one.

Need to fix it completely and make a superbird tribute
What a beautiful car!! Can't wait to see it done.
Ask any old gearhead , they are never fully finished ......
@@dixonmopar2129 how true.
@@dixonmopar2129 that's very true!
Yes sir mighty fine ride! I would still rock a bench seat on that bad boy.
It’s awesome. Looking forward to the next video
Looking good you two 👍👍👍👍👍🎄
Great work guys love your videos
Excellent Video Dylan :) & Bryer super work on this car and be classic to take vehicles shows also win prizes on !
Dylan man yall are the best!!! By far the best car content on YT. God Bless, stay humble my friend that’s why your so loved
Put a set of 2in. dropped spindles and a set of longer adjustable upper control arms ., I did it on mine and much better handling .
Love this car Dylan
I hope you are going to change or fixing the front passenger side fender it would look a lot better
Awesome.
Hello Dylan and Briar
Heck yeah brother I’ll liked to see if your building up that cornet brother
It's gonna be a bad ass car
OMG!!! WHAT SHADE OF BLUE DID YOU USE??? THAT'S NOT THE SAME SHADE IT WAS AT THE BEGINNING!!!
He just buffed it out ? Only thing he painted was the door and engine bay .
Heat is our friend!
You should make a playlist for this build ❤
Hey gtsy just stopped in to say take care
So you should call this the clone runner 😁
Dylan you should turn it into a superbird

Yeah, but reusing rusty old U bolts is not a viable plan, man. 😂
@@Pedroisanicknamethings don't rust like that in the south.
nice pig work lol ever use paint lol
Yeee Yeee 😊😊😊😊😊
👋💪👍
I guess you could wire-wheel those U-bolts. Then run a die on them to clean up the threads.
Do you have a sandblaster or media blaster? Maybe run the exhaust out in front of the rear wheels?
Or get new ones for $40
Too bad yous didn't do the body work and paint the whole care it would look gorgeous then
Next time use your torch heat nut red hot then quench with water do this 3 times the expansion and contraction will save old u bolts
Wait…is there going to be a tribute Superbird in your future?!
I wonder if some PB Blaster would have loosened up those U bolt nuts.
Doesn't matter. They should never be reused.
Hold the ubolt from moving and the air gun will take the nuts off the bolt jumping takes the shock from your air wrench
Cost effective only way to roll !
Is that rust stop in the gallon oil based you use?

The tail lights remind me of when I was a little kid my dad had a dodge corenet it seems like the tail lights are the same
Green bearings for autocross? Not for long lol.
How about ----please take the dents out of the passenger side it might take 5 min! Thanks God Bless.
If it ain't Blue it ain't new.
Just curious isn't spray paint easier. Awesome car
I didn't see a gasket used on the axel retaining plates.
@@rgbigdog Green bearing has an O ring.
I see traction bars just the rubber snubbers are missing. I would reuse them.
What are all these bots?? Car looks amazing btw.
Where do you find these cars!??
Need pull the axle out
Hi million just wondering are you going to put the tramp rods back on the car ?.
I don't know for a fact that You can't reuse the U bolts I just wouldn't. They get stretched & so much rot & abuse. Just My opinion though.
✨✨🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟✨✨✨👍
Then wheels look like the wheels on general lee they are worth some bucks $$$
wow you did lol
Are you going to race the car
So who is Briar? Is he your brother?
Just curious wouldn’t it be better to fix the dents before you paint or buff
Do you understand how bolts work ?
Mecanics had to do it all the time before they had the air and electric wrench
You had drum brakes out why not recondition them (the back plates). Rest of it looks great.
It's so shiny it makes me Nervous😅
Why wouldn't you have cleaned up the backing plates and paint them before putting them back together

You are correct, paying the price decades later...
You didn't check the tooth pattern
Wildfire lift doing nothing.
Your never supposed to reuse u bolts!
Especially rusty U-bolts.
Don't should on people. MyoB. 5 years TH-cam 100 subs, shitting other mechanic. Lordy. No wonder you didn't succeed.
