This is a little intermission from my usual posts, but I still wanted to post this because I thought it was cute. :)
I just was in my living room playing guitar and my roommate walked in from an estate sale with some new VHS, and I wanted to show him the new song I just learned.

Back in 2007-2008, my second grandson was 4, and our daily routine after picking him up for his mom from daycare each night was to find a quick snack and head to the recliner to sit back, relax, and watch the Backyardigans. It was his favorite show and if it wasn't on TV when he wanted to watch, we'd play some DVDs of them. I haven't thought about this show in many years, but happened to come across this vid and it took me right back to watching that show every day religiously with my little buddy. Then I realized he's 17 this year and the tears started flowing. What a beautiful rendition of a great song. The music team for that show was great. Every show featured a completely different style of music. Great, great stuff. Thank you so much for the memory and you've gained a subscriber. Love your singing and your playing!
I never thought of how parents/grandparents would remember their children/grandchildren watching the show. As I’m 17 years old I just remember little 4 year old me dancing around in the living room with my siblings listening to the opening of the backyardigans. Your memory of your grandson is so heartwarming.
this makes me tear up so much, me and my grandma (nana) would do literally everything and she loved me so much. we’d sit out on her lawn and eat popsicles and look at the sky. nana taught me how to swim and shed draw with me on the table. i could literally live at her house, i had my own room. shed done so much for me but sadly she died when i was in 4th grade and i always think back to those happy memories. im glad you had as much fun as i did with your grandson
I look forward to seeing what kids shows my kids will watch. I don't have any children, let alone a husband, but one day I'll understand how you felt listening to this.

All I can tell you is that you need to approach your loved one with all the love you have, because you never know how long you'll have them, from both the elder's and the young one's perspective.
