Gravy on a cookie / biscuit sounds gross. I'm Canadian, so maybe that's why I think that way. I also don't have a bag of chips with my dinner like a fatty either which apparently is also an American thing.
@@turgsh01 haha. Gravy on a cookie would be gross. Americans don't do that. We put gravy on what you might call a savory scone. We call them "biscuits" and they tend to be lighter and moister than scones. It's delicious honestly... Also, most Americans don't have a bag of chips with every meal. Only if we're eating fast food...
Other countries in America don't use rice cooker too, they ever think is an expensive thing xD, i found out that fact the other day, when i was looking for a recipe in rice cooker xD i was in shock, as a peruvian from the north coast of the country i can't live without rice!

Ok, as a Georgia girl, their horrified reaction to biscuits and gravy was the best. Also, their reactions to electric kettles not being a thing over here! Lots of love from Georgia!
Kids from private schools are isolated from wider society and often small minded. Not once throughout that entire video did i hear a child say, “aight boss man, whas the deal wid dese wastemen legit unable to cook up some fresh brew blud, not avin dis.”
you dont microwave water, that's just retarded. It first needs to boil and continue boiling not just being hot. plus anything done in a microwave is pointetially hazardous to eat, if you eat out of a microwave you probably eat prepackaged tv-dinners
As a Southern American, what that woman did was a crime against the culinary arts. I drink hot tea on a daily basis and that was just horrifying. Somebody rescue that woman's daughter and teach her how to actually cook.
Rice and beans goes with everything in Brazil. We usually mix rice and beans (I personally just put my beans over the rice), and we add whatever on the side of the plate to go with the rice and beans. Eggs, chicken, meat, salad, whatever. That's your typical Brazilian lunch and dinner
LOL we definitely have electric kettles in America. But it’s not a “common” household appliance. I’ve always had one in my house but I’m also Asian, so, you know, tea and cup noodles. 🤷🏻♀️
It's definitely extremely rare, and I would say the ONLY reason you'd ever have one is if you're from Asian or foreign decent. I've never met a single person in my life in the US with an electric kettle.
I don’t know how the idea that Americans don’t use electric kettles came about but I’m 65 and have always used an electric kettle, and so do most of my family and friends. I do live in the south and we can’t live without our (properly brewed) tea.
For the record, we do have electric kettles in the US, they're just not terribly popular. I've had one for years that was purchased at a US store, and I couldn't live without it! Haha!
Never seen an electric kettle in any residence I've ever been in in any of my 26 years in the US. Doesn't mean they're not here, of course, but they are definitely not overly popular. I've seen coffee makers in just about every residence, on the contrary.
This is even funnier when you’re Canadian! Coz we spell like the British but our vocabulary is more like the Americans. We end up being the awkward middle child or the one with the identity crisis 🥹🤣
@@eden_john001 "in other parts of the world " > noooooo. For exemple, we do have electric kettles in France to make tea although we don't make tea as well as the Brits (oooohhh, I could be excommunicated to have said that 😅)

Surely these kids weren't picked at random? They're all incredibly charismatic and comfortable in front of the camera, I'm actually quite jealous. Great video.
Because that woman was bonkers. She made a cup of milk with a tea bag in it,lol. It makes sense though. That woman probably grew up on Starbucks, It's 90% sugar, milk, chocolate with a sprinkle of coffee on top. So she thought the same of tea.
I'm American and my house has an electric kettle. We also use it on occasion to make hot chocolate in the winter. I agree that I would never microwave the water for making tea. I also know other Americans who have electric kettles, so I'm surprised that people say they're uncommon in America.
Yeah.... I believe you guys developed coffee machines as the replacement for kettles? I spent some time in America as a youth and that's what I remember seeing in teachers' lounge and office pantries :D
I am American and there is NO way that lady wasnt satire that tea making process is revolting and I am sure it was meant to shock and horrify both sides of the pond 😂😂😂...and yes we have electric kettles its just not as common cos not everybody consumes tea as much as coffee.
@@AA-bz1pr most people that drink coffee regularly use a coffee maker that does all the work. It takes longer to use an electric kettle and make a pour over coffee than it does to use a keurig, though a pour over would probably be better.
@@joshi897 Hmm, personally I dislike the taste of the coffee from most coffee machines. Doesn't feel quite the same as making it yourself. The cartridges can also be quite expensive.
I think you have a little to much faith in humanity if you think that lady and her daughter are just amazing actors who are like super good at pretending to be morons 😂 I know people who’ve put milk in tea and these people are clearly super country so honestly I think it’s more likely it’s real. I hope it is lmao
When they said “you have beans for breakfast, you have beans for lunch and you have beans for dessert” i felt that, not because im british but because I’m mexican n frijoles are everywhere 😭
As an American, I’m shocked to learn the rest of my country apparently doesn’t have electric kettles??? I’ve one at home and one in my office for making tea, instant coffee, and cup ramen.
Tea just isn't popular among most populations in the states. We never had tea in my house growing up. My parents would brew coffee all day and drink black coffee well into the evening. My first experience (and most Americans, I'd say) with tea is with iced sweet tea, Arizona sweet tea to be precise. As a kid, I thought only English people drank it hot 😂
As an American I wholeheartedly apologize about the one woman incorrectly making tea. Unlike her, I make sure to use a kettle and add my milk after steeping my tea
i think i saw it on english heritage channel. mrs crocombe said that only peasants pour milk into the cup before the tea, because their chinas are of low quality and might break from hot water.
I mean, we DO actually have electric kettles. They're just not a staple in homes. But they do actually exist, lol. I used one in college (and used the hot water to make my ramen too). I also enjoyed the American accents at the end, they sound so Southern to me, lol.
I got one a long time ago, but almost never used it. When I needed hot water, a glass measuring cup and microwave did the trick, so the electric kettle stayed in the back of the cupboard.
I appreciated that they didn't turn into surfers when doing American accents 😂 I love how Josh and Olly hype them up. I wish we had cooler weather, I'm over here sweltering in Texas lol
Yesh... This looked like a public school to me, which in the UK, means private, i.e., their parents have money. They definitely aren't the majority of British teen boys.
@@heatherwoodley8244 nah these aren’t private school boys. Also most private schools aren’t public schools, public schools are specifically schools like Eton, Harrow etc. They’re more selective, tend to have a longer history and are still strongly associated with the ‘upper classes’ compared to private/independent schools. So all public schools are private but not all private schools are public.
I’m American, but lived in England for 10 years during my childhood. I’ve been back in America for over a decade now, but until recently I was still saying “Chewsday” and didn’t even realize it until one of my 5 yr old students pointed it out. Lol

I'm an American, I DO have an electric kettle, and I don't drink any tea lol. It's a game changer for boiling water for pasta though, it boils in a minute then you put it in the pot and just start cooking.
@@Alusnovalotus I'm trying!! Actually have an electric kettle, so they do make them in 110 volt. Not sure I've ever seen one in another house that isn't a fellow ex-pat though. In the 1930/40s...Czech actor Vlasta Burian did english impression in on of his comedy movies.. he explained to a guy, the accents of french and english languages When he imitated english , he put hot potato in his mouth and he tried to speak. Its on youtube too. He said something stupid in American english, because he probably isnt english speaker so he fabricated some words, that dont exist probably and mixed the up with czech words, to make a jokes.... and then he said and the "akcánt"? (the accent).. He said in czech: "Its very simple" "Hot potato in the mouth, hot, hot potato, .....in the in the mouth"..he was chasing the potato with the fork. "hoahoho...ho ho hoa hea ho ho houa ho ha .....ho ho hoa hea ho ho houa" .... He said in czech: Its good? The Sherlock Holmes said "Alright." I can assure you that every British person who didn't know that was a thing watched it with utter confusion and disgust.
I am born and raised in California and I still know that ratio wasn't right XD
I'm no tea expert, but at least I can make one correctly.
I've never even made tea and I know that's not tea. She basically just mixed milk with a teabag and a bit of microwaved hot water
E
I loved this. Thought they were so mature about all of this at a young age. they were really fun with all of it. 10/10.
Fax Brits and Americans just like to poke fun at each other in a joking kind of way, and then someone just has to get offended by it
When they got to “chewsday” and they were like ok, valid.
Exactly! but they were such good sports, bravo to them!
@@potato-whiz amazing hahahahah
I love how they didnt have the black person react to the sunburn one lol💀
6:20 I watched one where this girl made Tea this way for her British boyfriend and he threw it to the ground saying this isn’t Tea and I 100% agree with him because Im literally crying, this hurts me so much and I’m not even British
The way the dude just threw the cup killed me 😂 he looked like he wanted to break up with her fr 😂 he was so disgusted 😂
Yup
Link pls?
She started pouring milk into the tea and I was out loud "Are you shweepid!!!" She put milk into the tea, tf you doing!
@@anthonyzullo I put milk in my tea because I cannot enjoy the tea without it- well depending on the tea actually
growing up in the 60s 70s it was us kids who were told to go and put the kettle on,old style kettle heated on a gas cooker with a whistle
As a Mexican, I approve of the abundance of beans in the British diet. 😂
Baked beans like that are utterly disgusting though. It makes me want to throw up thinking about them, I really struggle being English sometimes since I also don’t like fish and chips, roast potatoes, gravy and all that crap.
@@jaymercer4692 you’re just not English then
FOR REALL
@@theman7708 I just have a rare condition of being British but also having taste buds. I drink tea 1-2 times a day if that helps?
Bruh they could use our help caus wtf is that they're eating? Where's the passion
that lad at 0:46 had me spitting out my food, seeing stereotype memes followed by the genuine “they’re taking the mick out of us” everything combined about the way he said it had me burst out laughing
Bobby is so funny. Watch him in the Korea series.
7:00 Americans drink tea it's just normally cold and really really sweet. Like 4-5 cups of sugar sweet 😂
I'm an American, I DO have an electric kettle, and I don't drink any tea lol. It's a game changer for boiling water for pasta though, it boils in a minute then you put it in the pot and just start cooking.
Yeah that’s how a kettle works😂 “electric kettle”
I too have an electric kettle. Works great with the French press. Occasionally for tea.
Mad Im English and I have one but I have only ever used it for Tea
I also have an electric kettle but I use it for ramen
I use my electric kettle for sweet tea 👁👄👁
As a British person who has been living in the US for 20 years, this is as spot on today as it was when I left the UK!
Why haven’t you told us about ELECTRIC KE’LLES!?!?
@@Alusnovalotus because we in the US have them. I live in the Midwest and have seen electric kettles many times
@@Sixty___Four wait really? I'm also Midwestern and I don't think I've ever might a single person with an electric kettle
@@Alusnovalotus I'm trying!! Actually have an electric kettle, so they do make them in 110 volt. Not sure I've ever seen one in another house that isn't a fellow ex-pat though. They are pretty good for boiling eggs too. Fill it about 1/3rd with water, throw the eggs in (OK, place the eggs in GENTLY!), turn it on. Come back in 18-20 minutes. Job done.
@@alisterbh I guess since we on the other side of the pond, are heavier coffee drinkers, tend to buy percolators and can still use them for tea.
I was so offended by that cup of tea and I'm not even British. lol
Same here!
Americans and their laziness
I'm American and was horrified.
Nobody prepares tea like that
In the 1930/40s...Czech actor Vlasta Burian did english impression in on of his comedy movies..
he explained to a guy, the accents of french and english languages
When he imitated english , he put hot potato in his mouth and he tried to speak.
Its on youtube too.
He said something stupid in American english, because he probably isnt english speaker so he fabricated some words, that dont exist probably
and mixed the up with czech words, to make a jokes....
and then he said
and the "akcánt"? (the accent).. He said in czech: "Its very simple" "Hot potato in the mouth, hot, hot potato, .....in the in the mouth"..he was chasing the potato with the fork.
"hoahoho...ho ho hoa hea ho ho houa ho ha .....ho ho hoa hea ho ho houa" ....
He said in czech: Its good?
The Sherlock Holmes said "Alright."
He repled in czech: So you see...Just dont worry.
so he said almost nothing in english, but he said in czech "just dont worry."
At this point, if I ever visit the UK I’m carrying around a sign that says: “I’m Canadian, chill, we get made fun of as much as you” just so I don’t get mauled to death whenever they hear my accent.
TO BE FAIR, as an American I promise we don’t claim the “microwaveable tea” lady 😂
I have an electric kettle, but most people (at least that I know) heat the water in a pot/stove kettle on the oven… I mean really now!!
that really surprised me when my roommate first time show me how he heat water in a microwave i was like “how can electric kettle such unaffordable in us” lol
I use the stove top too!
I use the microwave and everyone I know does to lol so maybe you're a wonderful outlier love😂 (although I'm from the south so idk if that explains anything lololol)
I use a microwave to make tea and I'll fight about it
@@victorlee1239 They're just not sold in our stores that often. I work retail in the US and my store only has maybe two brands of a kettle and it is not electric. It's the classic whistle kind. Our stock says we usually only have four of each brand's kettle. And I'd say my store (big chain in USA too) gets 1.2k people per day in a rural city.
Depends on the household. If it's a tea-drinking family, there's almost definitely an electric kettle in the kitchen .
I can believe that. My family has a corner in the kitchen where we keep our teas, hot chocolate packets and our good ol electric kettle. I know that thing has seen its use through my college years when i ate mostly Ramen cups and yakisoba packs.
I’ve got at least four electric kettles in the house. We drink lots of tea, all the time actually.
I don't know if you'd really call it a kettle but my family has a Tea Maker, like a Coffee Maker, it does the same thing, just, with tea instead, works the exact same way basically.
i mean, we have an electric kettle but none of us drink tea we all drink coffee 🤷
Lol, I use a stove kettle instead, not a big fan of electric, but I was dying internally when I saw how that lady made her tea, it's soooo wrong.
I can’t imagine how relieved they were to get off set and not do the accents anymore
Why is everyone saying there not british

@@youngbroblessed it's a running joke that british people don't actually exist. As if they were unicorns or something. It's just for fun, I don't think anyone actually believes they're faking it.
@The International Black Lip Plate Because the 1 black kid? Ha! Yeah that's an African accent for sure.
@@iamtheteapot7405 thx for explaining this 2 me although im very real
I like the subtle River Kwai march at 3:04, seems very British to me.
I apologize for that woman who made "hot tea". She's clearly insane.
That was the WORST! She needs to be slapped. Civilized people use kettles or teapots. If you have neither then fine but you do NOT put the tea bag in AFTER, you put it in first! 😐
@@Devin3Anthologie wait you don't pour the hot water in the cup with the teabag in the cup? That's how I do it and it turns out great.
@@jacksepticeye_fan084 Oh for sure. That's what I was saying, the first thing in the cup is the tea. Then the water.
@@Devin3Anthologie i reckon if she didnt put the tea bag in after cooling down the water with milk, and maybe skipped out on the gallon of sugar then it would have been alright innit
This reminded me I made a tea and left it in the kitchen, thanks for helping me remember
This series is so clever, idk what it is but it's something about asking schoolkids these questions over adults in the street, makes it more charming and relatable (esp for anyone who's ever lived/went to high school in the UK) 😅
@yuitr loing lad you can make all sorts of stuff with a kettle what you chatting bout
@yuitr loing I don't drink tea, and I use a kettle at least once a day, as do the other 2 people in my house. It saves several minutes every single time you boil water, and is very cheap.
Idk seems very buzzfeed and finebros to me. Those channels have been doing this type of videos for a decade or longer.
