Not gonna lie, this was kinda horrifying to watch. The young girls being dressed in the revealing clothes and a some 10 year old boy talking about how he wants to take a girl into a dark corner and essentially pressure her into kissing him. This shit is disturbing
At 20 years old or younger I suppose girls would think that no matter what culture they are from. Luckily there is a lot more to life then trying to look pretty.
Unfortunately they are removed from school because they travel from England to Ireland, and are just lost in the system, they have no education and can hardly read and write
@@lamsy1 Can the kids that want to study join the education system? I mean if their parents approve or on they own if they apply? Then they move away and leave there family is hard on the cousin. They follow the husband family not my hubby he want to be close to my hubby as my mom is sick so he wants to be by her to take care of her. Which is awesome.
other cultures are not like ours. To them- the 18 year old is the weird one. Would've been like that for us a couple hundred years ago. Still disturbing tho

But anyways yeah, your daughter is lucky to have a parent like you, is awesome that you encourage her to travel and do education or something that she loves to do and enjoy her life first, and everything else can wait for a little.
Sad to know she’ll likely end up just like them. In this modern world, a women without an education is absolutely worthless. She will marry, her husband will fuck her and he will burden her with children so that she may never leave. It makes me so goddamn furious but I doubt this girl has a chance, but maybe we can hope
@@user-jl7kd1rc3p No, but it's simply not her dream. The girl may want to be an astronaut, princess, etc. I'm sure she's not thinking about cleaning someone else's house.
I can't get over how sad these girls sound when talking about their culture. It's like they know it's oppressive but don't feel like they have a choice
It's like the gypsies elsewhere, called Sinti and Roma. They deliberately marry off their daughters at a young age (talk about 14 ...) so they are bound in marriage, with little children, before they can develop a mind of their own, and become strong enough to protect their independance. It's a way of imprisoning them. They know it, but feel helpless to do anything about it. If the marriage is unhappy, and they are beaten, they still can't get out, because they have absolutely no education, can't read or write, and wouldn't be able to support themselves (let alone their children) financially. So they remain trapped, and often beaten for their whole life. Others call it culture, I call it oppression.
I think I heard / read somewhere that if they don't marry young as is expected of them or follow their culture closely the family could basically cut them off and they can't return
It's so sad to see all these girls crying because a marriage means the end of them spending time together. I don't understand why these women allow themselves to be locked away from everyone they love
They are not women. They are girls. And they're being forced to move into the next phase of a lifestyle that they don't have enough power to get out of. Sad.
Them crying in the dress shop made me cry. It’s always hard to see such beautiful young ladies throwing their lives away and talking hopelessly about their future.
@john wayne He would be working anyway. The men choose to.If they didn't like work why would they go? Why not just do something they want instead? If they do like work then why don't they do it 24 hours a day? It's their choice and they have no right to complain 🙄.
@john wayne we all have to work unless we win lotto. They can choose their job and go out and see people. The wife has to be a housewife 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All the household chores and child rearing is done by her. She has to have sex when her husband wants her to and pop out babies. There are probably very few penalties for him cheating either or leaving her high and dry if he wants out and domestic violence is common
@john wayne in these cultures women don’t have the choice to have a career. They are raised to be wives and mothers. Also being a wife and mother is work. Do you think keeping a house and raising kids is easy. It’s a job these women do 24hrs a day 7 days a week and they can’t just clock off. So no, the women do not get the easier life.
I don’t know why they’re taking it that deep though like they can’t be married and still see their family that shits weird I don’t care if it’s their culture shits weird
@john wayne Do you think these people just live in there trailer all day and never have kids? These people have big families with a lot of kids that they then take care of in a freaking RV. I have worked the 12 hour days and I have kids and at least with a job you know there is an end to the day. Being a housewife that is not an option and it is even more true when you have kids until about age 4 the will need you 24 hours a day. That's just the kids the men don't know how to do any of the house hold work they can't even do there own laundry let alone cook, clean and take care of kids all at the same time. I have 4 kids and I love my kids but if you asked be what was easier working long days with an hour drive each way or staying home with my kids working was way easier than staying home with my kids. Also I live in an area in the US that has a lot of Gypsy and Travellers and trust me those guys aren't working that hard most of them are scammers and do a whole lot of construction fraud.
Wow, her little sister is much wiser than her age. And the sparkle in her eyes & the truth in her words were incredible to listen to from such a young little lady. She’s gonna be someone when she’s older
Too bad she could get cataracts or something if she keeps opening her eyes in that tanning bed; besides the skin cancer risks of artificial light tanning.

I think this is the only traveler wedding dress I've actually liked! Such a shame she was so uncomfortable on her wedding day but the fabric did look stunning!
She had it made of WALLCOVERING fabric, not of wedding gown material! Utterly ridiculous choice of fabric, especially given its necessary weight on her slender frame. Stupid vanity, always trying to outdo the last girl's gown!
Yeah when they said that material is usually used as wall paper, I was shocked! I would love my walls to sparkle like that. I wish it was a real fabric so it didn’t hurt her so much.
Gorgeous dresses. The thing I’ve noticed is that 9 out of 10 gypsy girls are stunning with fantastic figures!!! Unfortunately the same usually can’t be said of the men they’re marrying
@@Totalchaos0228 Exactly. Because all the mothers look super old and worn our whenever you see them. They don't age well. And because of how young they were when they got married, you know they can't be more than 40 -45 but look much older.
There was a Swedish politician in the European Parliament where her social media posts became viral and a scandal, as her daughter was a child bride (16), strongly encouraged by her mother. The mother seemed genuinely surprised by the criticism, because "it's their culture"
In today's world, children are sleeping around even as young as 13 and exposing themselves to adult matters and we have the "woke" parents even encouraging it and giving them "stay safe tips", I am not even surprised by this culture I'm seeing because the world itself is just so gross and becoming darker by time.
Yes! One of the girls had a Blackberry phone that I had when I was in high school around a decade ago. I wonder how many of them have gotten divorced since then because they married so young.

This was from 2013, so she's of marriagable age now. It'd be interesting to see what's become of her, and her older sister. Sadly a lot of the marriages on these shows don't last. Although not surprising considering they are teens.
@@amandab8433 A marriage as a teen is way more common in the gypsy communities, but they can work. The couple just has to be committed to each other and have the desire to make it work. I was married at 17 in Texas, where the age of consent was 18, so my parents had to sign for me to get married. My husband was 22 at the time, and a college student. That was almost 36 years ago, and our marriage is stronger now than ever! We only knew each other a total of 7 months before marrying. I knew he was the one for me, and he knew I was the one for him. We are dedicated to each other and to God. That's the key. I hope these youngsters are still going strong, and the little sister is only married if she is ready!
@@julianokleby1448 Congratulations on your wonderful marriage. We will celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary, and our 35 anniversary of being together this April and June. I'm aware of the tradition of teen marriages in the Gypsy/Traveler community. Statistically in the US teen marriages are 48% more likely to end in divorce in the first ten years, as apposed to only 10% for those who marry after the age of 25. The numbers are similar in the UK. I've looked into the success rates of the marriages for the teen couples on these shows, and there is a very high rate of divorce in the first five years. Mostly due to spousal abuse. While the shows are entertaining to watch, and we all hope for the best for the couples, unfortunately most don't end well. Also that most of the young women have no education beyond the 8th grade or high school they end up back with their families, which is wonderful that they have that to fall back on.
I can’t imagine getting married at 16!! I look back at that age and I was learning to drive and worrying about what was happening on the weekends etc!! I’m 16 and could never imagine getting married now, I’m too young and have so much life to live. It’s so sad that this is the norm for them and they never get to experience a “normal” life.
I do agree with that, and I am absolutely against this marriage, but we also do not know what the man she's marrying is like. He may be a better guy than what we think. I'm PRAYING that he is so
@@sin3358 it’s still such a young age to marry. She may turn around at 19 and wish she’d had the chance to experience life as a free woman, not tied down to a husband and kids before even hitting 20 years old. So they happily accept that their ‘men’ can sleep around up to the day of the wedding but the girls must be pure and untouched. Disgusting behaviour on the part of these so called men.
Lots of traveller girls i know accept that they can't sleep around and don't want to... they believe in self respect, respectful of their family honour and worst thing in the world to be known as a sexually disease infected dirty show!
This is the first one I've ever seen where the dresses are absolutely gorgeous. Aside from it weighting probably as much as she does it's really stunning. And the bridesmade dresses are just a beautiful. Well done to her for not having ridiculous and gaudy wedding.
I have to agree with kitty tonic, though less in a bad way. I think it's perfect for Them, their style and their personalities. Maybe it's not traditionally elegant, and even what some might call tacky, but by God, they're FUN! To be truly "tacky" you have to take yourself seriously and believe you're not tacky--but these families are enjoying their "tackiness" and having a lot of fun with it, loving the bright colors and attention. They're saying, We're over the Top, we're deliberately tacky and we Love it, this is who we are....and that's amazing and wonderful. Edited to also say, I think it's amazing that the bride and others have no issue with All the women being over the top. No one is whinging about how a bridesmaid or cousin or mom wore a dress that tried to compete with the Bride. Everyone is dressed to the 9's and everyone's loving that with no sense of competition or jealousy. Hell, IMO, more weddings should be like this one! LOL
I like the blue dresses but I’m an ex dancer lol. I think the brides dress should have been made of different material it’s just way too hard to walk in the heels and get to where she needs to go…. Can’t dance in it….
They always talk about how they don’t want to be judged and shamed upon by others if they feel they made one tiny mistake but yet they will do exactly that to someone else who is in the same position, hypocrites!

Ypu are such a fundamentally different person at 21 than 16. There is a lot of growing and maturing that occurs in those 5 years. I hope her husband is able to grow and mature with her.
A travelling company did all the work on my new home and we became good friends. Last year, I was invited to one of their huge weddings. I had an absolutely fantastic day and I was made to feel so welcome. The bride looked incredible!
Wow. The faces of the bridesmaids look upset, and I wouldn't blame them. Getting married at sixteen, imagine devoting your life to someone at the age of sixteen. Ina is gorgeous, she's a lovely girl, but I really hope she doesn't regret the early marriage :)
She was so lucky to have such an understanding priest. I know a lot of people in his position would have just have left after an hour of waiting with no information.
As a designer you also have the responsibility to tell clients what is suitable and don't use fabric that is potentially hazardous. She's 16 after all.
I do wonder if part of the problem is that she was starving herself, tight lacing, and then wore a dress that was ridiculously heavy. So she was essentially weightlifting with no fuel and no air.
@@daniellescrochet The starving is definitely the problem. I've worn a relatively light tulle dress for a pageant but I didn't eat all day and fainted on stage. The dress wasn't the issue, it was how hot the dress is + not eating.
I've watched many a gypsy/traveler/all-kinds-of-cultures wedding and bride, but it has been genuinely refreshing to see such a cute, loyal, and even-tempered girl. She didn't lose her composure even though she had to contend with a painful dress, she really loved the boy she was going to marry, and it seemed to have been more love than money that wooed her. Best wishes!

But unlike the travelers I completed my education, went on to university gained a double and had a full career until I retired. My husband was 19 when we married he to went to university h he became a university lecturer. And yes I'd marry him again tomorrow in a heartbeat
My parents were 17 and 21 when they were married. They were together 49 years before my mom passed and had a beautiful marriage. When the divorce rate in America is pushing 60%, age doesn't guarantee a forever marriage, the couple through hard work does. Congrats to you and your husband.
My grandparents met and fell in love when they were fourteen, but they did wait to get married until their twenties. She became a successful chiropractor, and he an engineer. They were married over forty years, and together in general for over fifty. Their marriage has on,y ended because of her death last year…and he still loves her very much. He wears his wedding ring still everyday ❤️
Not really. When the daugther marry she suppose to not see her parents and siblings as her family any more and most likely just see them on weddings and simular her husband want to attend. Thats not care about family first. Daugthers are also that
Yeah when the little girl said “it’s not my dream to cook or clean” I know the bride truly understood what she was saying but she’s brainwashed to tradition
I love how all the girls at the wedding/after party/reception are dressed up like they are in a full glitz beauty pageant and the boys are literally in t-shirts and flannel button downs (like the guests not the people in the wedding but all the guests)
She needs to get some wedding photos taken asap to immortalize that gorgeous dress...and then immediately change into something more practical, so she can dance, relax, and really enjoy the reception!
The really light eyes and black hair is often called ‘the black Irish’. Very common among travellers and in the West of Ireland. Different to the Celtic look of freckles and light hair.
@@boosterbox3607 the roma/romani come from northern india yaa so i get what you mean but since irish travellers (pavees) and roma are different groups in origin and ethnicity [though both can be referred to as travellers due to their traveling associations], i think those two are being confused here haha!
@old man strength Almost :) They came from the Indian subcontinent, but because people thought they were nomadic Egyptians they called them gypcian, short for Egipcien.

I’m fascinated with these Gypsy weddings, the girls are absolutely stunning. I may not agree with the age that they marry and some of the rules within the culture but I’d still love to be friends with one of these families! I’d never be bored at their events 😆
Watching this again a year later & I must say, I absolutely adore Estella. I sincerely hope she found herself "a good person" to settle down with & who she doesn't have to "argue with lots".
All these girls are so nice, they genuenly seem like really kind and warm people. On top of that almost all of them are children. I can't believe a 16-year old child is getting married. How can a parent let their kid marry at such a young age? I feel like ever since they were little these girls were taught that their only worth something as brides, and super you at that. Ina is like almost 10 years younger that me in this video. but she looks and gives off this vibe like she's older than me. And i need to say this again, all of them really seem like great girls. Such a shame they were brought up as literally a "market meat". I don't believe every Traveller Woman is and was happy with her marriage and yet they still put their girls into the same situation. Often times the grooms are like 10 or more years older than girls. If you look at this like that: a 16 year old with a 26-30 year old. Doesn't it sound like pedophilia? On top of that Ina talking about the wedding day being the last time a girl is free - that's just fucking sick and very sad. I have mixed feelings. She kinda seems happy, but she's also really sad. I kinda feel like this wedding is the doing of her uncle and then her parents, because of "honour". IDK people can say what they want, but no one in the universe is able to convince me this is culture. This is a system comfortable for men, who just want to use their strenght to literally take advantage of children and women in general. For me that's sick. Even more sick than what is happening to women overall. And also it's scary that even those super young boys are taught such shit baisically sorry for such a long text BTW love her little sister
I kept waiting for someone else to notice this too! And why did she have it open still?! I can only assume because of the camera but literally she did everything wrong 😑
I was thinking the same thing too. I just hope she doesn’t develop an early case of macular degeneration. Eye protection when in those beds are mandatory!
Having seen many of these episodes, I'm struck by how beautiful the girls and women are. But it never seems to translate to the men. The way the women in this family look, I'd expect the men and boys to look like Elvis, but nope. What I don't understand with these dresses, is why they choose dresses that hurt, that they can't walk, dance, or even get into the car with. Also, in the days when women actually wore dresses that were heavy with material, hoops and petticoats, they wore layers between themselves and the shapewear and outer garments. This took away direct pressure and contact with the skin. Why wouldn't modern dressmakers understand this concept?
Couldn't help but to giggle when I saw the group of girls in the church wearing the polka dot dresses. Automatically my mind went into the theory that's a gang of rival bridesmaids who didn't make the cut out to claim their spot 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤷🤷🤷🤦🤦🤦
I worked with alot of gypsy brides in dublin, if I was with you I would of dressed you at the ceremony so you'd be happy and pain free, you spent soooo much money on this fabulous dress, u should be able to enjoy it xxx
I have to say that this was probably the prettiest Gypsy wedding I have seen. I LOVED the dresses! And I am not a fan of blue! But that little girl, Theresa, stole the show with her wisdom. Good on her for thinking for herself!
if you say that to a gyspy person on the street imma tell you this but you gonna get cussed out and get yo ass whooped, do research its not that fucking hard to learn about my people, and dont ever say or use gyspy its offensive and racist towards us, its pretty much the N word for us gypsies we dont fucking like it and we only use it with each other for laughs and jokes.@@emeraldgreen2001

The times I thought I was in love as a teenager and even young twenty something were with people so ill matched to who I am in my thirties… I couldn’t imagine living in a culture where I probably would have jumped at the chance to marry one of those guys at a young age. I would be so unhappy now. Luckily, my parents have always pushed me and my siblings to spend time being single, getting to know ourselves, working on improving ourselves, and living life before getting into a serious relationship. I come from the opposite influence of cultures where people marry young. There was a strong influence to not even seriously date until it least mid twenties.
I got married really young....(19). I will make sure my kids know they have options, and encourage them to get to know themselves before they settle down. Being married as a teenager was really hard. Luckily we worked out, but we definitely are in the minority of young marriages!
I'm older than you and am still figuring out who I am and what I like in others. I can tell a bully from a narcissist and a narc from a psychopath and I've met plenty of them all. I could have ended up married to one as a teenager if I was a traveller because the detection skills at that age wouldn't have been great... Having said that, at least these gypsy girls don't have to worry about age related infertility etc.
I don't think it's necessarily a requirement to be single for a long time before a relationship. Just do whatever feels right, you can still live your life and be young and mature whilst in a relationship.

Sad to know she’ll likely end up just like them. In this modern world, a women without an education is absolutely worthless.
Because they are idiots.
They don’t know any better sadly, it’s how they are brought up

@@julianokleby1448 Congratulations on your wonderful marriage. We will celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary, and our 35 anniversary of being together this April and June.

He wears his wedding ring still everyday ❤️
Most of yall have groomer gpas and dads 😢
What I respect about the travelers is their family VALUES. They take care of each other. They stick together. Family is everything. Love it.
All so they can be those lazy guys' mommy bang maids. I hate this culture, the women are so amazing and get taken for granted as a rule.
I could be wrong but don’t the original travelers come from India? So that would make sense
@old man strength Originally they would have, but bear in mind as travellers they would have mixed and matched and bred with other ethnicities too over hundreds of years.
@old man strength That much inbreeding over hundreds of years would be really bad.
I'm sure she's heard this a million times, but my God her eyes are gorgeous! Poor thing though, couldn't even enjoy her wedding being in so much pain
OMG!!!!! I can't stop focusing on Ina's eyes! Her eyes are stunning!!!!
Enhanced by coloured contact lenses, it's a must for celebrations, even for the little girls. The little boys have different eyes.
Contacts? How sad... What do you mean by boys eyes are different?
PS: Seriously, I'm genuinely curious....
and a wee bit confused (which is not unusual for me 🤪)
@@ileanamuntean7338 No, they all have pale eyes, including the children and grandma. Children do not wear colored contacts.
I think her eyes are real
I do not think they’re contacts at all. Why are you assuming it’s contacts? Weird.
Her eyes remind me of Elizabeth Taylor
It’s cute how close her and her friends are they seem very genuine. This is like the only wholesome gypsy episode I’ve seen
I’m fascinated with these Gypsy weddings, the girls are absolutely stunning. I may not agree with the age that they marry and some of the rules within the culture but I’d still love to be friends with one of these families! I’d never be bored at their events 😆

Right!? I want to go to one of their weddings so bad! They also have the prettiest hair I’ve ever seen. I want long hair so bad. Lol
They're quite low SES families so there are a lot of fights and things as there's a lot of stress and substance abuse
@@MsJubjubbird What does SES mean?

Watching this again a year later & I must say, I absolutely adore Estella. I sincerely hope she found herself "a good person" to settle down with & who she doesn't have to "argue with lots".
The dresses were works of art! I wish this sweet young couple every happiness.
Those young girls are just lovely. Theresa is going to be something special with such a wise and smart personality.
And also it's scary that even those super young boys are taught such shit baisically
sorry for such a long text
BTW love her little sister
Seeing her eyes open in that tanning bed with no eye protection made me cringe. I work in a salon, and that’s the biggest no no here in the US states.
I kept waiting for someone else to notice this too!
And why did she have it open still?! I can only assume because of the camera but literally she did everything wrong 😑
@@ASMRKay_ she wor her full outfit too
I was thinking the same thing too.
It’s almost the same thing people say about Slavic girls and men lol
IT costs too much money.
It quite literally the only day that they will be celebrated...its pretty sad actually
Women are hotter and beetle looking then most men that’s just facts
That poor preacher out of breath was probably counting the seconds until it was over
That dress is actually so beautiful and classy. I like it much more than other wedding dresses of the sort. It's absolutely stunning
I tell you what.. this is the first wedding I’ve seen from travelers that looks well done.. and I just love her 8 yr old sister..
" its not my drean to cook, not my dream to clean up " that lil girl gon be a real woman😂
So women who look after their families aren't really women? Shame on you.
Yikes what a wild take. Caring for my family makes me a fake woman.
‘It’s not my dream to cook or clean up’…….girl you better GO!
This made me crack upppp 😂😂💀💀
Dress that’s hard as a rock, falling on your wedding day, being in a stressed mood.. absolutely dumb way of getting married
I worked with alot of gypsy brides in dublin, if I was with you I would of dressed you at the ceremony so you'd be happy and pain free, you spent soooo much money on this fabulous dress, u should be able to enjoy it xxx
I don’t know why no one, in any episode, has ever done that
I have to say that this was probably the prettiest Gypsy wedding I have seen. I LOVED the dresses! And I am not a fan of blue! But that little girl, Theresa, stole the show with her wisdom. Good on her for thinking for herself!
what are gypsies ?
if you say that to a gyspy person on the street imma tell you this but you gonna get cussed out and get yo ass whooped, do research its not that fucking hard to learn about my people, and dont ever say or use gyspy its offensive and racist towards us, its pretty much the N word for us gypsies we dont fucking like it and we only use it with each other for laughs and jokes.@@emeraldgreen2001
im confused. Is she a gypsy or traveller?
Let's not ignore how beautiful she is. The eyes are glowing! And she's so sweet and loving. Or, atleast what I've seen from this. Lucky man 🙌
Awe the love her cousin and best friend has for her! If only they knew if they stay single together until they are older how much fun and memories they would have together!
her little sister is such already a little young woman I love her but her sister the choice of fabric she chose this is honestly the most beautiful dress I've seen on any of these gypsy weddings I love it I would so want one just like it or at least made out of that same fabric it's so sparkly and beautiful and poofy
Her sister is the smartest on the show bless her I hope she has a wonderful life
Everytime I see a wedding: “Where did they get all the money??!!” 😂😅
her eyes are absolutely STUNNING
Can I just say... That dress is absolutely stunning! A dress literally out of a fairtytale movie. ❤️
These women are stunning!! I love the 8 yr old, what a little diva

That's the nicest dress iv seen in the traveler show. Good luck to you both in your new life. X
There was a strong influence to not even seriously date until it least mid twenties.
that’s why she will have a big family. and you will have cats 🤗
@@deedranicolehooks that's not that young atleast you was grown
This had to be my favourite line up of dresses on the show!! The fabric on the brides dress was fabulous
