You guys make me smile, I discovered your channel a couple of months ago and I'm now enjoying a vegan lifestyle change. I was already loosely a vegetarian as i grew up on a chicken farm. But your fun channel was just the push I needed, the best part is when I cook one of your recipes for my 10 yr old son is the surprise on his face about how good vegan tastes. Plus the weight has just dropped of me so thank you and keep on keeping on x
For anyone interested, this was my take on the recipe:
400g white beans
400g kidney beans
(If using tins, drain and rinse well, in advance.)
1/2 large white onion
4 large garlic cloves
100g oat flakes
4T Tamari or soy sauce
8T ground flax
1t salt
1t paprika
2t ground coriander
1/4t Turmeric (that's all I had left)
1/2t black pepper
2-3T tomato paste
Red Chili Flakes, to taste
*If I had it, I would trade out half of that soy sauce with a bit of liquid smoke. But I can't find it in Belgium, thus far.
The flavours are bang on so I didn't alter them. I served it with a spinach salad with oregano and lemon to add a beautiful freshness and called it brunch.
Thanks so much to The Happy Pear for helping to add another go to recipe for my arsenal. I think even the omnivores in my family will dig it... They just have to wake up, first 😕
I forgot to list, in the ingredients, that I also added a good handful of finely chopped walnuts.
I'd add some mushrooms for the chewy meaty texture.
jenna daneels no no no. That is not a breakfast sausage and neither is theirs I would have to change the spacing to make it a true breakfast sausage. I would also triple the recipe but will you got adding kidney beans from I will never know. I had a seitan once that was made with kidney beans and it made me sick let's just say it all came back. I like kidney beans but not in these sorts of things. Enjoy your sausage I guess it's called.
jenna daneels so you skipped the coconut?
Thanks for the work
Wow! that's amazing. I'm about to order your book.
As for vegan sausages - I went to a vegan pop - up restaurant where I live a few months ago and they served a pretty brilliant dish there - carrot sausages! yes, I know....I was skeptic but it was super delicious!
They peeled some carrots and soaked them overnight in a sauce they made with olive oil, whisky, smoked paprika and flaky sea salt and then after all these soaking hours they covered them in an aluminum foil and broiled them in the oven over high heat (200 C, 400 F) until the carrots became soft and tender (for about half an hour or so). You can make it in advance, because after the broiling the carrots should be fried on a grill pan (for a few minutes on each side).
They served it inside a bread roll with some red onion rings, crunchy lettuce, mustard and barbecue sauce.
** I found the recipe online in my native language and translated it for your convenience, the measurements for the sauce are: 1/3 cup of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of whisky, 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika and a teaspoon of flaky sea salt. The sauce makes enough for about 4 large carrots.
Give it a try if you want, you probably won't believe this thing is a carrot. That's the beauty of texture transformation.
Oh wow that sounds amazing! Thanks for the recommendation! 👍👍
I left out the coconut cream they still came out lovely
Youre fab Alison glad to hear it! 😄👍🙌
These are truly AMAZING! They are the best sausages (vegan or not) that I've ever tried! Before I went vegan about 8 years ago, I used to make turkey meatballs that were very similar in taste and texture to these. I am bringing these for my family to try on Christmas day. Thank you so much to both of you, dudes! You rock...and I'm posting a photo on Instagram of these next! Sending you big love from Massachusetts, US!
Ah amazing stuff! Thanks so much for the message - sending big Irish love right back at ya!! 👍👍
I made the sausages tonight and everybody loved them! Thanks for the great recipe 😍
"Good job, Mr Flynn."
"Thank you, Mr Flynn."
Thanks for watching, Mr. Gould.
great recipe I added chopped sun dried toms to mine just cos I had them , lovely !
Does anyone else find they use their food processor MORE since becoming vegan than before?!
而,
You're the only guys I know who say "dude" more than I do. lol Looks great!
That looks really good...
So happy this is gluten free! Will be making a batch later today :)
Super, Victoria enjoy!! 😍😋🙌
They look so goooood
Oh wow guys... it looks amazing! Going to try these, defiantly!😋
You lads are geniuses! Im defo getting the book for Christmas 🖒
Cheers Anthony! 😄👍🙌
OMG gorgeous recipe and fantastic cooks or the other way round?
Yum...Going to try these 😊
Made this.so good.
Glad you enjoyed dude!!!
My kid loves sausage and I keep trying to get them to stop eating it, so now I have an alternative in under 5 minutes. Thank you.
Brilliant hope they enjoy! 😄👍🙌
I'm not a vegan myself but I'm a big fan of beans! I will definitely give it a try and maybe share it with my friends through the app Sharood! Thanks for the idea!
you are so great guys 😉👍
kind and nice people ♡
Lads, any suggestion for an alternative to coconut cream? I'm not a fan of the flavour.
so happy to see your new video looks amazing I'm making this fantastic wait I want to make healthy bengali veg stuff with you guys
Me to! always looking for the perfect vegan saugage
I think my smoke alarm would go off if the flames and smoke were like yours! Thanks for the recipe guys! 😀☺️
Ooh they look yummy💙🌸💙🌸
Looks delicious!!!!
Can also sub walnuts instead of coconut. Yay!
FENNEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gosh! i love these dudes :)
cool video.
Amazing!
is there a substitute to the coconut cream concentrate, very hard to find in my town. really want to make these tonight :-) :-) Also could I use ground chia seeds instead of flax seeds?
Vegan shortening might also work if you can find that? :)
Can you please do some frying in an air fryer. X
Going to try with a little wheat gluten instead of the coconut block.
Let us know how it goes! 😄👍🙌
If you are taking out fat and replacing it with protein it will be an entirely different outcome. Also the seitan needs wrapping and steaming for 3/4 minimum
I'm very allergic to coconut, what is an alternative to the coconut butter?
I would say use 100 gr of tofu (anything but silken) and a couple tablespoons of an oil of your choice.
where do you guys get your food processor and blender from
Our food processor is a hotpoint I think and we use a smug blender and a blendtec.
Is it barbecue, because the flame is so high ! 😳 😆😆😆Anyways, I’ll give it a try. Thanks for sharing
The comments below have made me giggle. The basic mixture is not raw meat. Heating through and colouring is all that's needed. The boys said it was coconut cream which I think it's blended coconut similar to a nut butter. So it's not actually oil, they said no oil. I think they sound interesting. Will have to try and decided for myself.
Dimy Ssg Coconut cream contains 35 grams of fat.
Can I use anything other than oats
Tasted quiet good. Cooked them until they were a bit crispier on the outside
Brilliant! 😄👍🙌
Is that the cream at the top of a coconut milk can???
Ohh I have to try your recipe. I've made something similar before with the base of a vadai (indian snack) recipe with black beans instead. Soak it overnight, blend it until smooth with some of the water in the morning, let stand for another day and the fermentation will make it rise twice the size until fluffy! Add salt, chopped green chilis, whole black pepper, garlic powder and cumin seeds. Deep fry like a donut or in shapes of meatballs. TASTED LIKE MEAT. It was mind blowing! Try YouTubing 'how to make vadais'!
Tida Wei hi there...how much black beans do you use? A cup?and it's dried right?thanks...
Holy Wow!!! Look at that heat.... 🔥
You guys crack me up!
PS when are you going to get your own Tv show?
Claire Bunyan, Me too ! They are so funny and charismatic.
Hey guys, absolutely love your channel, so don't mean this disrespectfully... but is 3 minutes long enough to cook sausages? I always find that any veggie or vegan sausages when I get them in a cafe etc aren't cooked for long enough, they taste all raw and undercooked. Guess this could be a raw recipe?!
I don't really like vegan cheese or meat you can find in shops, always soy, too much salt and sometimes even Palm oil. I'll get this out very soon! Can you freeze them to keep them for later ? Has someone tried to replace coconut by regular olive oil ?
😋 💚
With a title like that it could have turned inappropriate very quickly. Well, in five minutes.
hahhahahahhaha 🤣
Can you freeze them?
LOL when you say 'high' heat, you mean 'High' heat :D
Can you do this without a food processor?
I imagine if you went to town with a hand masher for the beans and maybe blended the oats up in a blender before adding (or just using oat flour) it there wouldn't be a problem. Finely dice your onions and garlic, and combine everything really well. When I make this i probably won't lug out my big food processor, I'll try it by hand first.
what was the spice after the coriander?
ground black pepper
I use red lentils and walnuts
Enjoy your recipe. Are you guys twins. I mean brothers. You both look alike.
that fire is very high
OOh, goodness. Turn the fire down a little bit, please. I do want to try these.
There was a Denny sausages advert at the start of this, that's ridiculous
I neet. Recipe please Tank you
Can anyone who made this tell me how it tastes? I really don't like coconut flavor and it seems weird in a savoury dish
I use it a lot in cooking but hate the taste of coconut, you can't taste it
I was thinking the same thing - maybe use vegan butter/margarine instead or some crisco (vegetable shortening)? Obviously not the healthiest of substitutes but for a special breakfast it might be alright.
Jakob Markus I made them today and there was no coconut taste. Well I didn't taste it but if you hate coconut it make be evident .
They were Savoury and really good.
Do you have any idea how unhealthy crisco, margarine and vegetable oils are? yikes! watch some videos and save your life!
Green Vegan Mum Thanks! I'll try it out :-)
Tomato allergy....any substitute ideas?
There are pepper pastes in Turkish and Eastern-European groceries or maybe try other pureed veg like peas or carrots. You could add soy sauce or paprika for colour. Good luck :)
Every video from these 'dudes' you know they are not trained chefs, you never let the flames go up the side of the pan like that! The flame stays under the pan, especially when cooking with a fat.
The twin porn eating the same sausage was hilarious! Keep that up and your channel will attract a whole new demographic! 😁
I ship it
YUMMY 😋❣️
I can make this in under five minutes if I grow two more arms.
Tamari!
I won´t be able to find half the ingredients here, but hey, congrats, it is the first vegan sausage recipe that I find that doesn´t contain freaking gluten flour, ..I´m not a celiac, but ain´t putting that poison in my body..hell nahhhh..
Nice - a seitan-free sausage.
100th like 😁
Is it cooked beans or soaked beans... 🙄
they haven't said that...
Why grams?! 😩😡
Hahahaha we're Irish! 😜
bellends
I'm sure these sausages taste amazing, I'm going to make them for sure but...... They actually look like mini poo's
🤗
Nah, didn’t look appetizing..... looks like it was more of an oat croquette...😒👎🏽
Is that the cream at the top of a coconut milk can???
genethfireball no, you buy in little rectangular boxes. Have a look in your local health shop or Eastern food supplies shop
