Absolutely stunning Hayley, Mum told me how clever you are with textiles and she was so right. The work you have produced is simply beautiful. I am sure other boat owners will be queuing up for both your expertise in different fields. Looking forward to the launch Jean x
Thankyou Thomas. Yes our helpers were really impressed with what they had made. They have not seen them yet on the finished curtains but i bet they can pick out the ones they did 👍
My Mother worked as a custom curtain and drapery seamstress after I was married. I only made the pleated drapes once early in my marriage when I couldn't afford for someone else to make them. The fabric I used was very cheap but I thought they turned out well. I was very interested in the blinds you were making. I liked the comment about ironing.
Thankyou Sammie. I hope to pass on some of my skills and knowledge on to my grandchildren and we hope that anyone else who would like to try and have a go themselves would find this video some help. Yes ironing 🤣I don't want Grandad getting used to me ironing it just isn't going to happen 🤣👍
Love your curtains. Thank you. Sure v to make some new Roman blinds in the study. Given me the idea of doing a curved edge on them. It looks lovely. Thank you.
It's really great to watch a professional at work and to learn from them, now that I've seen the finished curtains and blinds it all makes sense. It looked like that porthole wasn't double glazed if so is all the other window glass like this? I note that you didn't explain why you wanted all that privacy, I daren't ask, I'm far too young to know!!
Cheers Tony, Yes you are right, we only have single glazed. We had originally thought we would upgrade to double glazing in the future when we had more money as it can be done with these frames but don't think we would ever bother as the single glazed work very well. The glass gets condensation on and runs off through the drains in the bottom. It is the frames that are a problem and we don't think that would be any different with double glazing. When our fire is on in the winter we have our windows open because we are far to hot so can't see any reason for double glazing. hahaha yes a few people have asked why we need privacy hahaha .You never know as we will have plenty of time on our hands🤣🤣🤣
Where does all this stuff come from. They build space craft with less accuracy. What looks like a shambles turns into things of beauty. As I type this, you have just answered my question on your vlog. Very clever lady.

@@makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg Glad that condensation isn't a problem and anyway it drains away.
Keep those curtains drawn!
