    I've sown for 70 years and I would have used pins until I saw you do these curtains. The binder clips are a great and quick way to do this. I'll be using your idea. Thank you.

    Thank you so much. I am a very new beginner. Your great. I live in my 20 ft camper. Made my first pair of simple!! Curtains. Haha. Has 5 mistakes. But, they are hanging until I try again. Your a good instructor.

    The binderclips are a great idea. I always used pins.

      I use pins on some projects, but the binder clips are so much easier, especially for material as thick as this!

    Looks great Brandi. I sew and I think your instruction was great. Looking forward to seeing a video of how you did the straps

      Ohhh, thats so good to hear. My great grandmother taught me how to sew when I was little, but I haven't done it in so long - it was honestly really nice to come back to it. And YES, I just found all of the stuff I need to do that strap tutorial. I will do my best to film that this weekend!

      Sorry, this took so long to put out, but here is our tutorial on how to do the straps and grommets, if you still need it. :)

    LOVE these instructions. So simple and such a great idea. How well are they holding up? Do you wish you did anything differently?

    • @remoteramblers
      @remoteramblers  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm glad you found this helpful! We have used them every day for over a year, and they are holding up incredibly. There's truly nothing I would have done differently with the curtains. Honestly, they make such a huge difference for us. It was 20 degrees out last night, we had our diesel heater on low in a 40 ft bus, and we were toasty, toasty. 100/10 recommend.

      Thank you for the quick reply! I was also wondering if you made a tutorial on the straps? I trued your Instagram and yt but couldn't find it on there?

      @@rachelannenewellahhh, I haven't yet. We've been out on the road and I didn't have the supplies I needed to make the vid. But I will be back this week and I will post a video of how to do it! So make sure to keep an eye out!

      @@remoteramblers Question for you: did you prewash your fabric covering (I know you can't wash the warm windows) prior to sewing?

  • @cheriwinden3856
    @cheriwinden3856 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Did you use the warm window material for the divider between the front of the bus cab and the living area? Try to find the best solution to put in that area. Right now we just use a bed sheet. Not the best idea.

    • @remoteramblers
      @remoteramblers  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Cheri! We don't have a divider between the cab and living area, but we did use warm windows to make curtains for all the cab windows and front door, which works great and gives you total privacy. You could use it to make a divider, but we just didn't need one. Good luck, it's pretty toasty everywhere right now!

      @@remoteramblers That is a good idea for the individual windows up front. I see you did a different option!

      @remoteramblers  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Kathleen! Thanks for watching. I didn't show how to do the leather strap portion, but it's super easy. I could make a little follow-up video about the grommets and strap making, if that would be helpful.

    Where is the links to the material you used?

    • @remoteramblers

      Hi Martin! It seems I forgot to include it. The fabric (warm windows and sunbrella) are both from Joanns. Happy to answer any other questions you may have!

    What seam allowance size do you use?
    Thank you for doing the video.

    • @remoteramblers
      @remoteramblers  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Of course, thank you for watching it! And I can't remember exactly, because I made ours 2 years ago now. I want to say I left around 1-1.5 inches on the sides and more so on the top and bottom. I'm nearly positive I say in the video though. My process was cutting the warm windows material to the exact size of the window and then the top material to 3-4 inches of excess material. Window width = 21 inches, then warm windows 21 inches wide and top material 24-25 inches wide. Hope that's helpful!
