I love your attention to detail. And I'm learning lots of tips along the way. Using a heat gun to improve the 3M VHB tape is a great idea. And reaching for a piece of rubber flooring instead of grabbing knee pads is genius. Thanks for the content.
Agreed! How does he know everything he knows? And it's not like he's familiar with one type of vehicle, he know how to work on multiple cars, old & new, German and American...
I remember the solution i came up with while restoring my 95 Mustang. I wanted the cobra center caps, but they only come black with a chrome snake. I needed the call to be white with a cobra snake. It took me a while to figure out how to make these caps for my TSW wheels. The mustang is white, my wheels are white and i have my white cobra caps. The red calipers are dope. Another good color option could have been Brembo gold💪
@@ChrisSullivan69 it looks good bro. Good job💪 what my boys and i used to do (in our ricer days) is get the red paint in florescent red paint and paint the calipers with that over some high temp caliper primer. Talk about bright at night👀
@@ChrisSullivan69 hi one year after durable? engine? how many miles you drove with that model? if true e models durable. few cls55 amg also it looks good and cheaper
Absolutely love these videos! Not filled with junk, quality work, you show a good amount of the work also not just finished products. This channel is amazing. I will continue to like every video you put out and support 👍🏻 best quality channel I’ve found on TH-cam !
So your E63 Series has motivated me to get my 2007 E63 back in shape. 220Kmi, all me. Started getting the dreaded valve tappet sound caused by the cam slapping the lifter. Even set off the knock sensor to give me a check engine light. Can't pass inspection. So, my list: Replace Tappets Replace Cams ($3K - ouch) Replace the Lock plates (likely get the stage II like it seems you did) Replace air suspension pump Replace steering fluid Replace transmission pan (Weistec $700, but now I can change my own transmission fluid) I'll skip the cosmetic items. If there is any way to add tightening patterns and torque specs from the time you replaced the lifters, would appreciate it!. You have about 50% in the video.
I did the same trick with my C8 center caps over to a set of Vossen's over the winter. I hit them with a heat gun and to logo part separated from the clip and used VHB tape like you. Have driven them maybe 500 miles since then and still one there nice and secure
Bro! It’s gorgeous! 😍🥰 I have a black on charcoal W211 E55 AMG with a pulley and some cooling mods that I daily’d until I picked up a W210 E430 so I could finish the mods on the AMG! I have long tube headers and a looped fuel rail sitting in the corner just waiting for some new injectors and 82mm TB to arrive. I’ve already done all of the maintenance and replaced wear items such as thrust arms, motor and trans mounts, flex discs and I replaced the AirMatic with BC Racing adjustable C/O and with a new set of Conti Extreme 2’s it does not feel like a 20 year old car! I have always had an itch for an E63 and THAT is exactly what I would have built for myself. I just discovered your channel (sub’d) and it appears you have 3 more of my dream cars in your garage. I think we may have been separated at birth… 😂
@@ChrisSullivan69 I just found your channel a few days ago and I have plenty to catch up on! You have a great collection and your content and camera/editing work is top notch. I see great things for your channel!
Chris, the e63 AMG looks great where I agree no need to add anything else! I've done similar things to my '06 SLK55 AMG and have added another tune that eliminated the Park rev limiter!!! Vrooom... Steve
I know this is old brother but man, switching the steering wheel imo was just incredible, that old looking odd shaped one had to go, now inside and outside just… just F*** beautiful, I never thought a stock “ish” Mercedes would sound so nasty! It’s intimidating lol love it for sure, can’t wait to see more of this beaut
Couple things I noticed, but maybe just quick cuts from your video, and I'm sure you know this. 1. Never use the same wash mit to clean your wheels as you do your paint. Rail dust will kill the paint. 2. Also for ease of install, once you take a wheel off, wire wheel the hubs and apply a bit of anti sieze to the hub. The wheel should come off a lot easier next time.
Great episode, as always 🙏 The only thing I would try to change would be another headunit, to use (in my case) Apple CarPlay. But that would be the only thing I would change if I had such a great looking W212 E63 with the M156 in it 😍 With best regards from Germany 🇩🇪, Philipp 👋
Im so jealous you get to take stills and exhaust clips on a road without cars. It's impossible to do that in cali...every road in this state is full of traffic. Awesome builds!
Man I wish I had your mechanics skill and infrastructure. If at any time my cam adjusters start to rattle or my cam lobes are worn I am f**ked 🤪 love what you made out of your car and how you‘ve documented all of it! Also, probs for going with silver wheels, they look so damn good 💪
Really cool daily! Love the calipers, wheels, tires, rims and center caps! My OCD noticed that the center caps off. One wheel is correct and the other three are off. I believe its the passenger rear is good...
Man, I'm surprised at the quality of the finish using spray paint on the calipers! Lays down really nice, almost like powder coat. Car sounds incredible btw

Super nice. Superb, and shes a beauty and a beast. I had a pretty hot tuned E320, 95 and it would dessimate those that under estimated it. Torque monster and would bury the needle. 👍
Wow, Chris awesome video and the car is amazing!!! I have had a few AMG cars. Always enjoyed them. They are sleeper cars, the average person has no idea about the performance of AMG cars. Your car is a perfect daily driver car and I learned a few things from watching you. I liked the lift technique to help get loose the harassing bolt. Great effort on the center caps and the caliper paint job. Came out just like OEM. You do great work and you seem to own all required tools (belt sander) included!!!! Thanks for sharing and teaching.
Awesome car, Chris. I almost bought a mid 2000s AMG (E55 or E63/C63) this past winter. Off topic - I'd love to see you build an early 2000's Lexus IS300, or an early 2000's 350Z/G35, and build the heck out of that. Please consider building any old school (650 hp to 800 hp) JDM with a big turbo.
@@amgtrnd2245 - I almost didn't post my comment above because nobody who runs a TH-cam channel wants to be told what to do. But I really respect Chris's work and taste in cars, so I thought I'd give my $0.02 in what type of build I'd personally like to see. Regardless, Chris always finds great cars to build, and what he does with them (mods, upgrades, repairs, etc.) is always top shelf, so I'm happy to continue to see all of his amazing builds, and whatever he has in the pipeline.
Chris you mentioned changing the chrome emblems to black. What are your thoughts on eliminating the model emblems and just keeping the center logo on the deck lid. That will keep the body streamlined. Love the Merc…👍
The amount of attention to detail and care he puts into his work is amazing. Love the content keep working bruh

Good points. But I never use the same mitt for wheels and paint. Two different mitts, two different buckets. Good advice though!
Chris! If you hold the shift lever to the right on + it will auto jump to the drive again when in Drive-manual mode
