Followed you for a while. Next time you need mods let me hook you up so you get ”corect” parts and s little better leather wrap quality. That is not the corect wheel model for the AMGs. AMG had flat top as well. 🙂 And I could have saved you alot of work by getting you corect wheel. Dont hesitate to contact me. Keep up the good work.

My chrome on that wheel is peeling all around every edge... the top is all bubbled. I just try to watch the road 😂 a new trim with the AMG replacing AIRBAG is on my list

I'm not a Mercedes fan nor I can care less about them. But the steering wheel transformation was pretty cool. I do like the brushed stainless look.

Great video and I love the new wheel. Have you considered swapping the instrument cluster with a colourful facelifted one? Totally changes the vibe in the car. This monochrome just doesn't cut it in 2023 in my opinion.

These are the best kinds of mods, something you touch on the car every time you drive. Glad you kept it classy oem+ instead of going with some flashy carbon/digital wheel that most people end up doing, for it to look out of place in the interior.
You can look into swapping the 2012 cluster in as well, has the nice color center screen.

Agree, with your choice. Can you hook up a wheel for me as well? Chris, you need to swap in the 2012 LED cluster and get rid of the old TFT cluster. You can also add Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Did both to my car and honestly, have no interest in a new car. I can send you a few pics if you'd like. Basically bought two clusters, one from a 2012 E63 biturbo and another from an E350. Swapped out the biturbo tacho faceplate with my V8 6.3L faceplate, and used the black hood from the E350 cluster to replace the silver/gray hood on the AMG cluster and then had the cluster SID coded to my car.

Did that on my C6 - installed C7 Comp Sport seats and they look so dang good.
I am looking for a leather wrapped D shaped 2011+ wheel - don't need any of that CF stuff.
Also wanted to thank you - followed your touch up advice you did on red c6z hatch and I filled in a couple rock chips. I've painted truck beds, roof, hood, etc - but never tried a small chip.
Used 2500 - 8000 grit (used trizact pads above 3k) - buffed the fender - and you can't even tell there was a mark.
That steering wheel is a very nice complement to that car’s interior.

Love it bro, I've got a W204 2012 with the om642 diesel v6 tuned and going, uprated intercooler (one off mod as no aftermarket coolers exist) dpf and egr delete, then hybrid turbo hopefully so it will be around 370bhp and 900nm. But eyeing up an E63 the 5.5 v8 but still around 30k £ for a good low mileage, but it is a bit of a dream car as in the UK the tax and running costs are horrifying. Over £700 in road tax, premium fuel is £1.56 a litre and insurance has doubled over last 3 years

The old steering wheel locked really awful, the new one looks so much more modern and „sportier“ 🙏
And I am, as you, glad that you didn’t painted the silver „thing/plastic part“ with the AMG-logo in black, it looks so much better with the silver trim and it perfectly fits into the whole interior. 👍

The steering wheel looks great. I think the E63 is the only interior on the W212 that I like. The others W212 interior look so cheap, specially when you compare it with the W211
My local dealership has a 2011 AMG E63 with 92k miles. I know it’s high miles but the price is under 20k. I’m about to pull the trigger but all the M156 horror stories have me balking.
The day you get sick of this car, please please PLEASE let me know!!! I still want either a 2011 or a 2014 E63!!!

I literally just had headers installed on my C63 and my O2 sensors went to shit the next week. You're not alone on that one.
Love ur E63 bro, you should add the Apple car play kit on ur car. Would make it feel more modern with technology. Also what manufacturer did you get your rims ?
Ill trade you my 2010 Camaro SS 2SS/RS cam, headers, 3.91, exhaust, tune, hurst short throw, all the goodies. Only 46,000 miles. Dream car is a Z06.
I agree the wheel is ugly in the 2010-2011 e63. I have a 2011. Nice job and looks much better.

When that fake chrome starts to flake off. It’s super sharp and will cut your fingers very bad.

I like the wheel, but I think I actually like the glossy black more than the chrome.
You could paint it all black then, highlight the AMG logo in red. I never really liked chrome. But, it's not my car, damn it! 😅😂😅
My 01 e320 got abs warnings for a while. Those just went away. Then I got some sort of o2 sensor warning. That has gone away too.
My car is haunted.
Now my five year old battery is dead. At least I hope it's not the alternator. I'll find out Wednesday.

I had a 12 cls550 it had the amg sport package. Almost same wheel like you built. I changed my silver to a carbon one, then found a place that made some awesome red carbon paddles. Totally just changes the look of a car. Your making me miss mine a merc v8 with a free exhaust, nothing like that sound 😁

Had the same thoughts about the steering wheel, one of the classy options that suits this model even better than your upgrade in my humble opinion would be the 3 spoke that came on performance package C or even E class itself from that time. The 4 spoke was not the only option!
My ultimate choice would be an SLS steering wheel, but not easy to find nor cheap!
I ended up keep my original 4 spoke wheel but turned it to carbon fibre/alcantara combination. Someday, maybe I would get an SLS one!
Its a lovely amg, but at this age, you end up changing many old items that has to retire. Then hopefully they would work flawless for another 10 years )
I would suggest when you get the time, probably while trying to install the catch can, dismantle your intake manifold fully, clean any rust if present, then paint yhe inside of it with rostoluyiom to prolong its life. These are very hard to get clean from scrap and not sure you can buy them new! Preventive maintenance is a thing with M156
Change your oil very often! The cams are also a potential issue, i ended up ordering some billet ones to never worry about that ever again 😅

Finally, some more AMG content. Love that car btw. Not sure about the Bosch though as I've used those before on a couple different cars/trucks and only had bad luck with them. When it comes to O2 sensors, I try to stay with OEM if possible, Bosch is junk in my opinion. Love the new update on the steering wheel btw, very sharp.

Great video. I've been tempted by a wheel similar for my '11 but it came with the upgraded three spoke sport steering wheel so it doesn't look quite as bad as the four spoke.
The only other thing I would do is try 2 find a different kind of interior wood or brushed alum if they ever made it for a different year that is compatible. All the doors n console trim would look crazy if MB made a different style for a diff trim of E-Class. Either way that thing is Gorgeous!! Keep it up man

Same steering wheel that’s on my 2012 C 300, except the paddles. I have the AMG appearance package. Thanks for the insights on installing it, now I know how to install the replacement buttons and brushed cover.
You can see “W212” on the wheel in the vid. That’s the C300 model.
W212 refers to the e class chassis from 2010-2015ish
