- You might've noticed that Miguel O'Hara looks different in both Spider-Verse movies, and guess what? It's not just some random artistic choice. There's a reason behind it. In the first movie, Miguel is all slim, happy, and more lighthearted character. But in Across the Spider-Verse, things have changed for him. See, he's carrying this heavy burden because he caused his family's death in another universe. That messed him up real bad. He's pushed himself to the edge, both physically and mentally. That's why he's got that intense, ripped look now. He's been working his butt off, making himself super strong and imposing. And his suit, oh boy, it's more intense too. It reflects his anger and violence, with those blades that are practically swords. It's like his whole being is distilled into becoming the ultimate Spider-Man, but it comes at a cost. It’s almost like Miguel’s whole thing about Canon Events isn’t “you can’t save everyone as Spider-Man,” but instead it seems more like it’s actually “I suffered and lost my family, so now every Spider-Man needs to suffer and lose their family.”

The reason for his muscles is because he doesn't stick to surfaces, he uses his claws to pull himself up so basically he's training everytime he does this

I think there is no difference. Both Peter and Miguel use muscles. I think this is necessary just to convey the character, because Miles is an ordinary inexperienced teenager, and Miguel should scare

@@kindcatchanno there is definitely a different, Miguel cannot stick to any surface because his dna was mixed with spider dna, that’s why he takes “drugs” to stop his instincts to bite, hence the scene at the start of the movie. The fact that Miguel can’t stick to surfaces he has to claw his way up, causing him to work harder and gain more muscle, especially in his arms and shoulders. For miles, he hasn’t been Spider-Man longer than Miguel. He’s still learning and he didn’t gain as much muscle as Miguel because he doesn’t have to claw his way up. Miguel literally had to claw his way to miles in the train scene. And he still ran and clawed even more after that, even that by itself was a workout. Miles is also younger, it’s harder for him to gain muscle than a grown adult like Miguel, making them significantly different.
Long story short, they’re very different from eachother, since miles is gonna be the next Spider-Man you notice that Peter Parker isn’t that “buff either” miles might be the same because he still has to fight. Maybe after the “spot fight” miles will train more.
@@joeythething5003 don't know. this theory (or not theory) it seems to me both logical and illogical (on the topic that it is more difficult to climb on claws than on fingers). and I agree with the rest. just the transfer of character through character design has not been canceled. the spot in this movie is a good example of design, because he was an ordinary scientist and he is not pumped up and cool. he is quite awkward the first part of the film. such details are logical and realistic and convey the character of the character. should he frighten or sympathize

EDIT: In the spider society building place there is a place called “Strength And Conditioning” And we saw a peter parker working out there as well also if Tobey Maguire spiderman was bit by a spider and then took a nap and woke up abs and other stuff, what changes this to happen with miguel at a later time?

I think the new Miguel is an alternate universe Prowler, disguised as Spider-Man 2099. His mask is the same shape as prowler Miles. He has a cape. He has claws. And it’s alluded to multiple times in the movie.
I don't think that's gonna be the big twist, the story really isn't moving towards that direction and Miguel does have a believable story

I think part of the reason why he's more swollen is because he doesn't stick to walls like all the other spidermen do. He has talons that he has to dig in and climb up any surface. So it's always back day for him whenever he climbs

When watching his computer screens and telling has origin story Miguel's look/art style goes from a 1970's Saturday morning cartoon style, to his current style when his universe collapses to the one on the screen where he laughs and wipes his face which is also in a different style that reminds me of Miles earth. Maybe Miguel isn't done with trying to find a family like the one he lost but maybe there is one on earth 1610.
But when I rewatched the first movie u can see Gwen’s dad looks different n her best friend Peter.
The real Ultimate Spiderman is actually in the movie, he is the one taking therapy lol
He actually got that big because he is one of the only spider men that can’t stick to the wall so he has claws instead so when he pulls himself up it simulates a pull up and that’s why he is so jacked.
Also because unlike the original spiderman, he has talons under his fingers and toes, which means he doesn't traditionally stick to walls and ceilings but rather clawd his way along them.
So years of pulling and pushing himself bacl and forth made him absolutely ripped.
Sticking method does not change weight. This logic gets you a front row seat at any special needs class.

That wasn't exactly his family. He just entered a universe where he was dead to pretend to be normal Miguel, but since he was too big of an anomaly, the universe collapsed. so his daughter had already died, and he already had time to go through the grief and training thing.

At the end of the first movie, it seemed like he was about to start recruiting Spider-People. Which meant he was already starting the Spider-Society and was already aware of the risks of messing with the multiverse. It wouldn't make sense that he would live on that other universe and replace his other universe self knowing that.
Exactly, because in the post credit scene he gets the watch, and then in ATSV the opening scene with gwen appears to be happening shortly after the 1st movie bcz of how he talks about kingpins collider, so it makes sense that the family stuff happened, he then learns of what happened on 1610(collider) recruits a few people(supposedly the best 1st, jess drew and a few more?) Then goes to gwens universe and recruits her, then ±16 months later the actual events for ATSV take place. Although it does seem strange from spot's perspective, bcz did he just sit around for like a year and then decide to take on spiderman?
Gotta say his Across the spiderverse suit looks better than his og suit since at least this time the chest Symblo at least looks like a spider which the old suit doesn't
The Original design is basically his Comics design.
It was never meant to look like a Spider - only like a skull with spider's legs (it was just an artistic choice made by his original writters in the Comics).
The Spider-Verse design is however just a major upgrade and I wish they used that in the Comics.
Because it's like a perfect mix of the things that the Original Suit and the ANAD Suit had, while also adds something new from the Movie Artists.
