Skyline, thank you so much for this incredible content, you're getting me so pumped up to make my own team! A 6 stack in gold running these strats will steamroll everyone! Can't wait to start practicing my positioning!
do it, i started 2200 this season, i played till i was in mid plat and in 'elo hell', i got out as i positioned myself more clever, now i am at 3300 :)
I'm actually plat myself! But my team I'm building will probably be around 2400sr which is the perfect starting point for running these strats! Congrats on your climb!!
Skyline's videos are just good. His speaking voice is clear his rhetoric is relatable his camera work is intuitive his arrows are on point and his content is impeccable
this mapseries has literally been the most useful single thing I have watched to improvemy play. seeing the area steategically from a birds eye view is so helpful and your explanation is very clear. thanks!
Dude! I've been literally losing every single match on Volskaya, which is really starting to annoy me. This video is actually extra helpful. Thanks and I'm definitely subscribing. ;)
I really love that this map has the possibility for the attacking team to go with a super-cool all mobility comp and send EVERYONE down the flanking route and pop up just right on the point, with high-ground advantage, bypassing the choke entirely.
Skyline, great video. However, I wish you would have covered your opinion about the Attacker's APPROACH to the choke point as well. It seems like most attackers will try to exit left after leaving spawn and go around the left corner of the building - this always struck me as less-than-optimal because you become a shooting gallery as you approach the left side of the choke with the long sightline from the choke with no cover. I wanted to hear your thoughts about either going through the building or taking the right-side path so you are in the defenders' face as soon as you round the building. Thanks as always and if you made it this far, I vote for pure-payloads next (route 66, Dorado, Gibraltar). I think covering pure control points and pure payload maps will give us the proper foundations for when we go into the hybrid maps.
Big thank you for all of these 2cp map guides, they've helped me tremendously. I normally never comment but huge props to you man, you have a well earned like from me.
yes Eichenwalde. People still are unsure about how to approach certain sections of this map. There are just so many paths once the payload starts moving that teams often get split up and scattered about. That's if they manage to take the first point.
Wait... Sprays are one-sided? You mean all those times I thought I was trolling the enemy by spraying their spawn window I was doing... nothing? (probably a lot like my performance once the doors opened as well.)
This was a REALLY good episode. The second point on volskya part was really informative and NEEDED. Point B being in attackers favor? Like...wat. Good stuff. A worthy note though: on that unflankable room, if you notice there is a small part of the wall that is exposed right at the end of the right "default" side's choke. You cant flank with it of course, but a 1 vs 1 up close with a genji is not impossible if the soldier cant see until Genjis right up in his face.
Youre the best Sky! I've been doing nothing but climbing since I upgraded my video card. You teach me more about how to improve than anyone else on youtube by far! Trying to get masters before the season ends but expect vods from me in the near future.
Yess played Volskaya yesterday and was thinking "Can't wait for Skyline's Map Mastery of this one!" Looking forward to the rest of the maps (and all your other content too ofc!)! Keep it up! Cheers!
Do you think you could show a VOD of a team doing some/most of the stuff you mention? A lot of the strategies you mention in these map guides are rarely seen, and while they make sense, it would be cool to see practical applications of them.
I love these videos. Especially for the dreaded two cp maps! I know it might be a bit time consuming to add, but a few screenshots or clips from pro matches using these positions and tactics might make it easier for new players to follow
12:41 you have no idea how often I need to tell defending teams not to push forward while on volskaya point B. most of which ignore me and still push forward anyway
2CP wrap up sounds great! By the way, can you touch a bit the subjact of breaking spammy teams, or standing in the choke kind of teams (which is very popular at dimonds and lowers ranks).
oasis really gives me trouble personally, I just don't know what areas are strong or weak, it feels like a map set that I tend to just kind of blindly jump into face first a lot of the times
OmniOwl it's still very new, give it time and a few hours in skirmish flying around as Dva, you'll kinda get a feel for it. my best option on University to hold would be the side room with the small h-pack. you can't get flanked behind easily and tons of cover. and all the rein needs to do is put his toe out the door and have your other tank block their spawn side. very powerful position that said city center is horrible for a deathball comp
OmniOwl I agree, but what I do think is that it might be to early to do a big map guide like this that's supposed to be viable in 5 months as well. Everything probably isn't discovered yet unfortunately.
My super cool tech for this map is actually that Point B left side flank where the defenders cannot easily see you enter. (The trolley can still be seen if the defenders push up mid a little).
point B. if you're defending as Pharah or Widow, or anyone with vertical mobility, there's a very small ledge you can sit on that sits basically on top of the point right on the back left corner room. a great place to chill out and most people won't see you there. a great ambush spot as well if you're playing reaper. it's still risky if they have any long range DPS but it's sneaky a f
i love listening to you go over all this, really have made me alot more aware of what im doing in overwatch, so thank you! :D (i know this is kinda unrelated, but whats the music you play in the end? i cant get it out of my head haha)
I like the idea of the general 2CP strategic overview vid. Me and my crew still struggle with 2CP maps almost every time -- we just can't seem to get the right flow whether its on attack or defense. I suspect this may be because we have an extremely brawly "get in there and just duke it out" style -- which is perfect for capture point (where we have a relatively high winrate), but just seems to fall on its face for 2CP.
I think it would be nice to get into the KotH maps now, since those are symmetrical, so knowing the maps and strategy to edge out your opponents feels a bit more important than just knowing the chokepoints and holds for attack/defend maps.
How do you feel about putting multiple defenders on the top floor of the building that platforms revolve around? It's close to point B, has high ground, and it's easy to shoot down the hallway next to the point or shoot at people taking the platform way in. There's also a large healthpack underneath. Only problem I see is that it can be flanked and the platforms can get in the way of getting good angles. Still ana could camp the safer building on the opposite ledge and heal defenders there well.
Skyline thanks for the map vids. I wonder why more people don't take the left side and ride the hover platform all the way to the point. I'm going to try and get a team to do this
Numbani or Nepal please. any thoughts on using that top left platform with a dmg boosted bastion shielded on attack? once you make the turn around the point you hop off to the higher ground if needed.
So out team designates a single person, usually D.va, to go back to the point to deal with a tracer or genji that tries back capping. That way we can stay grouped farther up away from the point.
Could you do point A on Eichenwald? Forgive me if you already made one. For some reason I'm good at 2 CP maps and can easily capture point A in Numbani but I can't do the same in point A of Eichenwald.
I have a really difficulty time figuring out how to attack the koth maps. They are so open that few paths ever feel safe to attack from. could you do those maps next?
general 2 CP overview would be appreciated. cause I dont get, what's so special about those maps in contrast to the others. I pretty much play the same game on each map. (Im still a beginner, so...)
How to push on Eichenwalde: 1. Press power button on your chosen gaming device. 2. Go into backyard. 3. Curl up into ball. 4: Cry. Hope this was helpful
Would be pretty interesting to try to lead the push onto point B from the right side (from the attackers' point of view) with a Reinhardt... Oh yeah, teammates won't follow me anyway.
I've won so many games on this where I'm on Soldier and our Rein refuses to push left side (attackers left) even though there are no defenders there. I initiate the push, and we take it easily. Thing is, I shouldn't have to risk death to get the damn team moving.... /r
so, to summ it all up for 2cp, you can say, on both sides NEVER TAKE THE MIDDLE!!!! and the rest depends on your temas coordination and comp, at least kind of, am i right with that?
Skyline, thank you so much for this incredible content, you're getting me so pumped up to make my own team! A 6 stack in gold running these strats will steamroll everyone! Can't wait to start practicing my positioning!
same dood
i dont like 2cp in gold, but if a team were organized they would do really well
do it, i started 2200 this season, i played till i was in mid plat and in 'elo hell', i got out as i positioned myself more clever, now i am at 3300 :)
I'm actually plat myself! But my team I'm building will probably be around 2400sr which is the perfect starting point for running these strats! Congrats on your climb!!
I started at 1200 and went up to 2500
I started at 1900 went to 2000 with a group...then solo q and ended at 1730. It was great 👍
You are easily the best Overwatch TH-camr, and I watch about 10 channels regularly.
Please keep the awesome videos coming, it's super appreciated.
Skyline's videos are just good. His speaking voice is clear his rhetoric is relatable his camera work is intuitive his arrows are on point and his content is impeccable

Can you do Ilios please?
great video as always! what about doing Nepal or Eichenwalde next?
Yes. Nepal or Ilios or Oasis pls.
yes Eichenwalde. People still are unsure about how to approach certain sections of this map. There are just so many paths once the payload starts moving that teams often get split up and scattered about. That's if they manage to take the first point.
Leo OASID
Yeah definitely.
Wait... Sprays are one-sided? You mean all those times I thought I was trolling the enemy by spraying their spawn window I was doing... nothing? (probably a lot like my performance once the doors opened as well.)
Dang this is the best series of the channel! I don't know why but the worst paths are always the instinctive ones low elo solo queue uses...
This was a REALLY good episode. The second point on volskya part was really informative and NEEDED. Point B being in attackers favor? Like...wat. Good stuff. I like the idea of having a 2-CP wrap-up video, especially since this is the best time to do it, while the next map videos can happen whenever.
Youre the best Sky! I've been doing nothing but climbing since I upgraded my video card. You teach me more about how to improve than anyone else on youtube by far! Trying to get masters before the season ends but expect vods from me in the near future.

Seriously Skyline... get a patreon setup. :)
super useful as always
Hi Skyline! Thank you again for your awesome content! I would love to see Eichenwalde next in the series!
Do you think you could show a VOD of a team doing some/most of the stuff you mention? A lot of the strategies you mention in these map guides are rarely seen, and while they make sense, it would be cool to see practical applications of them.
My 6-stack team has gotten a lot out of these guides. Thanks SkyLine!!!
I was watching the other map guides and wishing you made one for Volskaya. I come back to my sub box and I find this video.
High quality content as always, thanks!
Nioce thanks dude! Always enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work.
"Take the whole family for a ride" I like it Sky.
Always great content! Thanks again.
these are the best map guides out there :O
I love these videos. Especially for the dreaded two cp maps! I know it might be a bit time consuming to add, but a few screenshots or clips from pro matches using these positions and tactics might make it easier for new players to follow
Wow, never thought sprays could be used to defend your point, my mind is officially blown!!!!
12:41
you have no idea how often I need to tell defending teams not to push forward while on volskaya point B.
most of which ignore me and still push forward anyway
Any king of the hill my good sir, they're the most different from the others and in my opinion the most difficult.
Same here, I struggle with Oasis
OmniOwl it's still very new, give it time and a few hours in skirmish flying around as Dva, you'll kinda get a feel for it. my best option on University to hold would be the side room with the small h-pack. you can't get flanked behind easily and tons of cover. and all the rein needs to do is put his toe out the door and have your other tank block their spawn side. very powerful position
that said city center is horrible for a deathball comp
OmniOwl Interesting, my team does really well on Oasis. I think each section is very well designed.
OmniOwl I agree, but what I do think is that it might be to early to do a big map guide like this that's supposed to be viable in 5 months as well. Everything probably isn't discovered yet unfortunately.
You make my favorite ow content.
My super cool tech for this map is actually that Point B left side flank where the defenders cannot easily see you enter. (The trolley can still be seen if the defenders push up mid a little).
Sky, you blew my mind when you showed that this map is identical to Hanamura, never though of that before
11:11 "it's beautiful, the symmetry of all the arrows" LOL
point B. if you're defending as Pharah or Widow, or anyone with vertical mobility, there's a very small ledge you can sit on that sits basically on top of the point right on the back left corner room. a great place to chill out and most people won't see you there. a great ambush spot as well if you're playing reaper. it's still risky if they have any long range DPS but it's sneaky a f
10:37 How does Soldier get over that big-ass chasm? Does he need Lucio I take it?
Dramoriga Rocket jump on the floor, combine with sprint, slide on the left wall. You can't stand on this angled wall, but you can slide.
Cheers for the info! :)
Dramoriga no need to rocket jump, just sprint jump and you'll land on the ledge and be able to walk
i love listening to you go over all this, really have made me alot more aware of what im doing in overwatch, so thank you! :D (i know this is kinda unrelated, but whats the music you play in the end? i cant get it out of my head haha)
Demiguise read the descriptipn
shit, could've sworn that wasnt there before.. ah well, thanks xD

Thanks for the vid, man! I love these :D
Oasis. City Center map in particular, that circular map can make it hard to know where is optimal to defend from.
I think it would be nice to get into the KotH maps now, since those are symmetrical, so knowing the maps and strategy to edge out your opponents feels a bit more important than just knowing the chokepoints and holds for attack/defend maps.

Love your content, i cant wait for you to do Numbani as 1st point on attack is hell in solo q.
Skyline thanks for the map vids. I wonder why more people don't take the left side and ride the hover platform all the way to the point. I'm going to try and get a team to do this
This video was fantastic!!! do numbani next!!
I think a callout guide or calling spots different names during the map guide videoes would add a lot to them
A wrap up video on 2cp would be great. King of the Hill series next? Oasis seems to give a lot of people issues (myself included).
hey sky what do you think about covering Oasis since not many people are familiar with it yet? I'd certainly appreciate it =]
Love this series
17:37 genji can also take that path either way, but just barely
Numbani or Nepal please. any thoughts on using that top left platform with a dmg boosted bastion shielded on attack? once you make the turn around the point you hop off to the higher ground if needed.
did anyone notice before how creepy those boxes at 12:18 look?
Thank you for the great content! You should make a map mystery playlist :)
Great videos. Can you do Numbani next?
I'd love to see Kings Row. It's got a lot going on and I'd like to see how you parse it.
Oh, I am so hyped to have my team try this out.
Do Oasis next!
Please do Numbani or any kind if f payload defense. Great Video.
So out team designates a single person, usually D.va, to go back to the point to deal with a tracer or genji that tries back capping. That way we can stay grouped farther up away from the point.
Thanks a lot. I suggest next Hybrid maps: Numbani, Eichenwalde, King's Row. A lot of times teams can get through first point and loose
thank you, sky!
Could you do point A on Eichenwald? Forgive me if you already made one. For some reason I'm good at 2 CP maps and can easily capture point A in Numbani but I can't do the same in point A of Eichenwald.
KarQ does good defensive guides for hybrid maps, not attack guides tho
a rush-in team he says from volskaya
Great Sky!
One of the hybrid maps next please! Preferably Numbani.
2:10 i see what you did there, helpful video thank you.
I have a really difficulty time figuring out how to attack the koth maps. They are so open that few paths ever feel safe to attack from. could you do those maps next?
What about the left side push and take highground throught stairs? Koreans do that a lot.
beautiful the symmetry of all the arrows :). Ppl dont understand that to not die right away, they should not take the obvious route.
for mixed an eichenwald guide would be nice
general 2 CP overview would be appreciated.
cause I dont get, what's so special about those maps in contrast to the others. I pretty much play the same game on each map. (Im still a beginner, so...)
I guess hybrid maps next? If so the I feel like numbani, eichenwalde, hollywood, kings row would be the best order.
You drew a pentagram in front of the main entrance on B. Was that intentional?
On A, I usually see people hold near the boxes.
Can you do Oasis next?
Excellent
I think you need to do Eichenwalde next for sure.
How to push on Eichenwalde: 1. Press power button on your chosen gaming device. 2. Go into backyard. 3. Curl up into ball. 4: Cry. Hope this was helpful
I have lots of problems with dorado... especially on attack
Would be pretty interesting to try to lead the push onto point B from the right side (from the attackers' point of view) with a Reinhardt... Oh yeah, teammates won't follow me anyway.
Where are the black bars? I got used to them :/
Personally I'd love to see Eichenwald done. I hate that first point. The choke always seems tougher than anywhere else, even Hanamura A.
nice video i learn a lot of this :)
I've won so many games on this where I'm on Soldier and our Rein refuses to push left side (attackers left) even though there are no defenders there. I initiate the push, and we take it easily. Thing is, I shouldn't have to risk death to get the damn team moving.... /r
now can u do assult and push the payload plz
I don't mean to sound rude, but you never really explained WHY holding by the truck on point A is unviable
Hey can I send you some mercy gameplay to review?
You should do hybrids next!
Hybrid next?
I had no idea Tracer didn't need to use her blinks there O_0
Nice Soundtrack :D
so, to summ it all up for 2cp, you can say, on both sides NEVER TAKE THE MIDDLE!!!!
and the rest depends on your temas coordination and comp, at least kind of, am i right with that?
2:08 a Rush in team in Russia? ;)
downloaded this video just to cut out the end music and listen to it
Do Oasis I think alot of people get confused about that map
eichenwalde please?
What program does he use to paint on screen?
Skyline thanks! :D
Do Eichenwalde next plz
7:06 as a genji that started my shortest 2cp quickplay round yet, 1.37 :D i really don't know why nobody watches that place
