The Irish national was working as a teacher in Wuhan - the epicentre of the outbreak of the deadly virus - and was just one of millions of locals under lockdown before he was evacuated to the UK last week.

He probably has to be careful and not say everything believes because the way the Chinese government works. Its one of the last places I'd choose. A friend works there alot and tells me things. Masks are common anytime due to pollution is extremely high.

It's funny cuz he doesn't even know that everyone would just watch a day in his life video. Like, we would all watch what he was about to go eat for lunch lol. It's his personality and the fact that everyone suddenly knows him and cares for his well being. He would easily get views if he had his own TH-cam channel after this.

Hooray! Ben's still grand! I'm really pleased that everyone in the facility is keeping well.
It's surprising that Ben is only 24, as he seems much more mature and empathetic than that age group usually displays. I imagine that he's a deep thinker in general, and this has helped him adapt to his circumstances. That he's calm and philosophical is just so comforting, and people are responding to that from all walks of life.

What’s really frustrating is that I haven’t seen any interviews from the patients either recovered or suffering from the virus or any information about the seriousness of the symptoms etc.
I saw one of a guy who has recovered. He wasn't even hospitalized because the hospitals are full. His parents are elderly and are both infected and needed to be confined but no beds available in the hospital. He was worried for his parents because they were doing worse than him. But he recovered. Not sure what happened to his parents though.

I'd be interested too to follow his story after the quarantine. Ben is giving us a good example how to handle this kind of situation and I wanted to know how he would adjust from the quarantine. Knowing he teaches Psychology explains why he is always calm and collected. Seeing him living that out is inspiring to become calm and collected myself.

Ben is more stressed and concerned about what grade he’s teaching than the virus. This is the coolest guy. Honestly because you’re a normal, standard guy, is why we are interested in your life as well. What you’d do in your daily life if not for the virus and how your life has changed after it passes. I can imagine the titles being “Day in the life of an Irish Teacher in Wuhan”, “What do I eat/cook in Wuhan”, “Get ready with me for school” and a bunch of other videos of you and your daily life. All the comments are about how we really want to get more updates about your life after quarantine. Waiting and watching your videos has become my daily routine. Can’t wait for more content from you. Moon Light Wuhan being the supposed start doesn't necessarily mean its completely filled with the virus its prominent but it aint raccoon city(resident evil) . being cautious is fine but being paranoid is something else.

Ben, do vlogs for your TH-cam channel, about working and living in China, talking about things and experiences around the world. Literally just vlogs about cooking, Chinese foods, drinks, etc... I think people like seeing a genuine person, it's something about a 'real' person it justs nice to watch and people get invested into what you're doing. So yeah, make a youtube channel and make sure #Chanel4News is compensating you well for making this for them and will hopefully be able to give you a shout out when you open your own channel.
By the way, we are all glad that you are safe, and who knows, (Channel 4) might even make a shot for you on TH-cam, could be a reporter from China.

I think this man is doing a wonderful job explaining how the quarantine process is working for him and the other people. He has a very upbeat attitude and I think that in any situation, ones mind set and outlook, greatly affects how they deal with the immediate issues and the long term issues.

There are not as many restrictions as you might think and all you need is a VPN to access all things that may be blocked but the average person usually doesn't need to since they have all they need from just using Chinese websites and such.

After watching his first video, I thought, wow he has a great 'reporter voice' and his down-to-earth attitude in a situation where lots of people would freak out, was great to watch. As most viewers I got attached to Ben and now I'm kind of worried that there's no video from yesterday. Also curious if Ben started learning Chinese. Mentioning his friend with the cats reminds me that a lot of people will probably die in natural disasters because they need to save their pets. It's sad, but they are our responsibilities so it's a tough call. Especially with some of the meats you can buy in those markets.
I would be one of them... if my pets cant leave then i would not go either as i wouldnt leave them behind...my pets are my number one priority. Give to them first and foremost. I am responsible for all their needs and would die saving them too of need be! It would be an honor to be their hero... truly as they saved me in the past when life gets you down... I know we all have times like this. Pets save...so save them as well.
