The Irish national was working as a teacher in Wuhan - the epicentre of the outbreak of the deadly virus - and was just one of millions of locals under lockdown before he was evacuated to the UK.

And if it comes to something that I need man for-I first try to avoid the haing to ask others in help in general(so I google problem i have with my computer and try to find solution on my own-works 90% of the time with everything IT) and
I mostly ask men for help in shops.
Because no matter how much indipendent I try to be, I am 5'1 and some things are simply out of my reach.

Only scenario when I actually shouted for help feeling bit helpless, was when bookcase fell upon me in friend's house(thankfully empty bookcase), and I got pinned under in way it wasn't easy for me to get out. But I was more fed up with that situation than panicking.
PS: Give a man who never taken care little children a three year old too look after for half an hour, and you'll see how real panic looks like. And how much he can shout for help...

In quarantine but still cares for his students
He's still getting paid by the school, so obviously he'll have to teach the kids. All schools/unis in China have been instructed to replace regular teaching with online teaching, and this will no doubt apply to his school in Wuhan.

You are starting to become known outside of the UK and you already have a lot of people supporting you. For example, in France, you appeared on an online French media called Brut where they talked about you, they called you "Ben from the UK attracts and fascinates crowds"

I find it amusing that you were so calm when you were in the middle of the Wuhan coronavirus… Again when you were placed in quarantine but kind of lost it when your payment wasn’t received properly in order to create the lesson plan for your students. We all have something that pushes our buttons

Side note, I've noted you're still using Windows 7, just be aware that Microsoft has ended support for the OS and you should upgrade to Windows 10 or a different OS to remain secure.

Question after this whole situation of being on lockdown and almost seeming like it's at a wartime. Crisis with this virus as a psychology professor do you think that your students their families or Wuhan people in general will end up having PTSD or some type of psychological effect after all of this.

I used to teach online. Things blow up a lot, but there’s always a solution. There are a lot of ways to get content to the students; when one doesn’t work, try another. Skype, TH-cam, go to meeting, adobe connect, Dropbox, group email a video file, etc. Don’t pay for stuff-most are free. Getting through the China internet wall can be a problem. I had some students in China and they couldn’t access some features without a workaround that they figured out. Rooting for you Ben! You’re a real good guy.

I’m a teacher and we evacuated from Dongguan, China. Now I’m in Abu Dhabi and soon heading To Kazakhstan to my in-laws house to wait out this virus. We don’t have to be back to work in China until March 2 with a possibility of further delay. Our school is requiring us to post online videos and lessons via ClassDojo. Just finished my first online lesson for preschool! Good luck with with your online lessons sir!

Hey Ben, I love your videos. I have a master degree in biology and I've been studying virology and epidemiologics. I also worked in a lab in France (Pierre Fabre) I know corona for quite a long time. You are in a quarantine and you are safe. Therefore I think the rules your quarantine have could be applied in a case of a breakthrough.
I think we have to be disruptive and we have to avoid to make the same mistakes, otherwise the death count could be terrible.
If you want to share this maybe that could help things to get organised quickly.
Here they are :
The real issue currently in China is people who infect their homes and family. The solution can be simple, you divide the family in 2 teams which are close but never in contact.
Team 1 : Fragile people, mothers and children stay inside and NEVER go out. They handle cooking and social media to interact with other clusters of people.
Team 2 lives nearby and provide the family with all the basic needs (they have big protections and they gather food and do stuff requested by team 1). They always wear protection and follow standard lab decontamination rules.
Rule 1 : No direct contact, NEVER, between team 1 inside and team 2 outside. This way, no desease in the family. If someone gets ill, it's therefore only outside, he won't infect the others. And since much fewer people are exposed the hopital can efficiently do their work.
Rule 2 : team one never EVER cross the perimeter. That's a quarantine and that time for them to use social media. (And to relax and socialize !)
Rule 3 : before you set the place, you have to quarantine team 1 in small teams for 2 weeks a'd perform tests to make sure they are not infected. Then you can group them if everything is ok.
Rule 4 : no pets, it's unsure.
Rule 5 : everything team 2 gives to team 1 must be desinfected, put somewhere untouched for 24 hours, if food, must be cooked thoroughly.
You do that 2 months and the virus is gone.
I'll do that with my family if things get bad.
I live in a farm, team 1 can produce food. In another place they can provide something else. Team 1 can interact with other clusters or people with social media.
Well guys that how we did 60 years ago when we didn't have all these useless cars and planes. Not only we can fix this crisis but we can also make an enormous gift to the planet, without panicking.
