    🩺ABOUT DR. BREWER
    Dr. Brewer started as an Emergency Doctor. After seeing too many preventable heart attacks, he went to Johns Hopkins to learn Preventive Medicine. While there, he went on to run the post-graduate training program (residency) in Preventive Medicine. From there, he made a career of practicing and managing preventive medicine and primary care clinics. His later role in this area was Chief Medical Officer for Premise, which has close to 1,000 primary care/prevention clinics. He was also the Chief Medical Officer for MDLIVE, the second largest telemedicine company. More recently, he founded PrevMed, a heart attack, and stroke prevention clinic.
    At PrevMed, we focus on heart attack, stroke, and cognitive decline. We serve patients who have already experienced an event as well as those who have not developed a diagnosis or event. Dr. Brewer provides services via telemedicine. We find a lot of undiagnosed prediabetes or insulin resistance. Treating unrecognized risk factors like prediabetes allows reduction of risk and prevention of disease.

    Hello Dr . I am 67 years old and my father and uncles had heart attack younger than 50 . After see you on u tube . I lost 22 ponds and started on k2 about 6 years ago . My calcium score was 400 and now after 6 years is 450 and showing no progression of calcification in arteries. Taking 200 mmg of K2 MK7 and 5000 unit of vitamin D3 daily. I think K2 is doing what it is suppose to do for my calcification problem. Thanks to you .

    Vitamin K2 is present in fermented products and is a vital cofactor for the post-translational γ-carboxylation of glutamic acid residues in a number of proteins.
    Vitamin K dependent calcification-inhibiting protein i.e. matrix gla-protein (MGP) in the carboxylated form is what is needed to inhibit soft tissue calcification.
    Elevated uncarboxylated matrix Gla protein (ucMGP) levels indirectly reflects VK deficiency and are associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular events

      @@sixpackbinky I am lazy and writing like the above is so much more succinct than dummy level language. So what I will say is that vitamin K2 is what helps vitamin D do much of its work safely,. As the proteins mentioned above are 'ordered' up by the vitamin D and then modified to fully functional form per vitamin k2.
      Also Health Canada chose a permitted dose of vitamin K2 that is too small, IMHO.

    Thanks Dr. Brewer, I’ve learned so much! I am 47 yo male who just retired military and healthy. 2 years ago I had a contrast CT scan of my heart and had a CAC score of 2. The cardiologist didn’t seem concerned, but I was freaked out. I heard on this video anyone with plaque should be on a statin. Should I? I will say my numbers are in range, I got my LP(a) and CRP done and both in range. They did every other test, echo, stress test. Nothing abnormal. Should I be on a Statin? Also, I’m in Montgomery, can we get a clinic please?😂😂

      Like Dr Brewer says, a statin isn't warranted unless you have any existing heart disease, as in heart or artery blockage. And with the tests that you had, they would have seen that.

      @Brandon-Wayne 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RD9_Designs thanks so much for your reply. Just wondering due to my limited knowledge, is a CAC score of a 2 considered heart disease? I just assumed anything above a 0 would be considered in that category. Thanks again.

    • @RD9_Designs
      @RD9_Designs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Raybon Studios : I Googled it, and a CAC score of 2 is very very good! It means that you have 'minimal chance of heart disease'. A direct quote from the website.
      I only found out that I had blockages in my coronary arteries 5 years ago, and had a cardiologist who wasn't very good at explaining things, so I was running scared for a couple of years after my first set of tests... but it turns out, my test results were normal! I did tell him off for that.
      I really like Dr Brewer, but he's not good about answering comments. I've asked several questions, and got no response, but if I make a good point, I get "thanks".
      PS... You can get your regular doctor to run any blood test you want, just ask them!

    She never had high blood pressure, was not obsessed, lived a relatively healthy life style and still got the heart enlargement after delivering our 4th baby...
    Till date, the doctors couldn't come up with a particular reason for her heart disease...

Also, how does Medicare reducing doctors fees has harmed us all? Now, you get 5 min appointments with 6 months interval if you can even find a Cardiologist or Endocrinologist willing to accept your Merocare Supplemental Insurance Plan and the profits are with Insurance Companies and Big Pharma... The more people get useless Treadmill Heart Test and Sono, the faster they would not be a cost to Insurances as people just die, and thus Calcium Score Heart CT Scans wouldn't be an easy thing for a doctor to get approved for the patients (especially on Medicare when they don't have Private Employer coverage while needed as an Employee)...😢

    There aren't too many specialists in an area of medicine these days who will take one, foreign-conducted 11-year-old study, unreplicated so far as any information I see here, and draw conclusions from it as if they are certainties as opposed to later studies. Odd way of approaching science--kind of reminds me of how the psychoanalytic fields do that all the time. They have a bit of an excuse, though, I guess, since they have had such a difficult time authentically replicating so many of their findings in general. 😆
