    I am a vegan and I was concerned about my gums and plaque on my teeth based on my dentist’s comments to me about my gum health. I learned K2 is important for gum tissue health and so I looked for a plant based source. Natto was the only real option for K2 so I tried it. It was very weird to me but I was motivated so I stuck with it for 10 days and now I actually like it. My gums are now much better and I think K2 is helping me in terms of my arterial health and bone health. I highly recommend people eat natto. I am studying to be an RD and in my college level introductory nutrition class there was no mention of K2 at all. Just K1 which is very different so the information in this video is really excellent as it is providing the public with information only advanced college courses provide. Please get K2 in your diet as I want everyone to have better health.

    I supplement plenty, starting 2 years ago. I was 72 and fat and high Bp and pre type 2 diabetes. I could hardly get out of a chair and wobbled and grunted as i tried to walk. The diabetes scared me into action. (I gave up sugar to save my feet) simplistic i know. Well in 3 months i lost maybe 20 lbs. And my blood test was perfect. Well i stuck to it added K2 when i started see articles about that, i had hard cups in my nose where my glasses sat for years. Well 60 lbs gone, Bp normal, sugar fine but my eyesight has improved oh and the pockets in my nose are dissolving. I don't know what is the most beneficial thing is but i like supplements better then medicine. Just heard you say bone density and i have had increased bone density and the Dr. At the VA said a person your age doesn't get better density. I should be a test subject. I must go ride my Electric unicycle now, follow the fun.

      @@peggybock7438 Hi Peggy! I recommend a full spectrum supplement called “Bio ADEK Mulsion.” This way, EVERYTHING you need for D reasons is in easy drop form! No pills plus it’s emulsified and that is superior method for fat soluble vitamin absorption!
      Bio-ADEK-Mulsion® supplies vitamins A, D3, E, and K (K2 and K1 in a 1:1 ratio) in an emulsified form, to assist with uptake and assimilation.
      Each serving of Bio-ADEK-Mulsion® supplies 375 mcg RAE (1,250 IU) of vitamin A, 25 mcg (1,000 IU) of vitamin D3, 20 mg (30 IU) of vitamin E, and 100 mcg of vitamin K (as K2 and K1 in a 1:1 ratio).
      If you already have a D supplement, AND have had your D level tested and know your number, I would be happy to tell you exactly how much D to take and approximately how long it will take you to reach your goal! I personally vote for 80! Up to 100 is great if you can get there! Extremely ill people report that once their D levels are in the Optimal range, they feel Fantastic!!

    I just had an arterial calcium score test (insurance usually doesn't cover it but it's only $105 and it's a simple CT scan). Anyway at age 70 I had zero calcium in me, and 30 yrs ago I had "mild." I've done intermittent fasting and very low carb for 6 yrs plus K2 kind of off and on but on a regular basis the last 7 months. I believe that people should get this score to see how at risk they are for heart disease. My dr. still told me I should go on a statin even though all my other markers were excellent, including homocysteine and C-Reactive protein. My triglycerides 46; HDL 114, and LDL 151 (I like it high, as it protects against infection and the brain loves it). After 3 weeks of taking a statin, a person has lost significant muscle mass for one thing - no thanks! I'd like to say to the dr. "so our bodies are not self regulating and self healing, and as you get older God says to take a drug to lower your cholesterol because he "didn't design us perfectly?" LDL is a good thing unless you make it a poor quality, like having small dense particles in that LDL. If I'm told one more time to take a statin, I'll ask for an NMR test (nuclear magnetic resonance) to check for small dense particles which I've heard are caused by a high carb diet.

    • @ChantYip
      @ChantYip 4 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      My HDL is also high over 100 and my triglyceride is less than 50. My doctor wants me to take statin drug also. This is very poor advice. I once read a book by John Hopkins experts which says HDL over one hundred is excellent and no need to worry about total cholesterol over two hundred.

    Why single out K2-7 and not talk about K2 all together while telling us the big difference. K2-mk7 is longer acting snd stays in the body for longer than mk4. However mk4 is nerve protecting.

      Fermented soy is what these studies suggest when considering the beneficial long-chain K2 Vitamins. There are many studies that contradict all our ideas and it can be very confusing to say the least. What I’m finding is that we have a lot to learn, and we need to be very careful and use information to discover the solutions. Things are not so simple...pointing to one nutrient or food can be very misleading. It depends on many factors. Not contradicting any people here...we all mean well. But there are as many studies that indicate the opposite....and we gotta be careful.

    The medical industrial complex's failure to properly research and diagnose and treat microbiome and sleep and vital nutritional deficiency issues (including those related to Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 and Magnesium deficiencies as well as iatrogenic prescription medication usage) is a major reason why psychiatric iatrogenesis is a primary contributor to the third leading cause of death in the U.S. which is iatrogenesis in general. If the U.S. spent just a fraction of the over $40 billion each year it spends just on iatrogenic psychiatric drugs alone, on researching the issues discussed in this and related TH-cam presentations we would probably, Lord willing, achieve an absolute revolution in medical efficacy improvement and iatrogenesis reduction.

    Hello: in Dr. Ford Brewer's series of videos on K2, everyone is afraid of Removing EXISTING Calcified Plaque, or Disrupting the substance and causing a clot to break off? In your presentation bullet points says clearing, "clearing arteries of calcification".
    - It is one thing in the mechanism of action or synergistic effect of vitamins D AND K to Redirect calcium absorbed in the gut, (..and activate Osteocalcin to lay down calcium in bone). >> But it is a whole new topic when speaking of targeting calcium that is in plaque in arteries. ?? IS IT SAFELY DONE, THE REMOVAL OF ... is it calcium or the whole phenomenon "calcification-mix" of substance in the aortic area? Thanks.

      @paulgee3411 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're absolutely right. This is all way to simplified and with too many claims that cannot be justified. is a huge leap from saying that K2 is thought by current science to be useful to control the deposition of calcium, to saying that it will reverse atherosclerosis! But this video is after all produced by a firm that deals in supplements. So I think that says it all.

    • @corneliusbulik9750
      @corneliusbulik9750 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Guys, why don't you check for scientific research publications, done by independent scientists (independent from industry)? There are some very interesting results, worthy to be known! The calcification plaques are not just "unglued" from the wall artery, and then travel and clog some coronary vessel... no! They are slowly cleaned by a specific enzyme, the matricial GLE, which slowly actively removes the calcium; the process might take months, or even years, before an artery is cleared of atheroma and calcium depots in it's wall structure. This in not a new subject, it is studied since more than 20 years.

You advice people to take D3+K2 for strengthening bones and avoiding heart disease. However, you did not mention the side effect of K2 especially for patients who are taking blood thinning medications. Do they have to avoid taking K2 at all or they can take it with a dose that cannot contradict the working action of other blood thinning medications? • @truthseeker1268
      @truthseeker1268 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think it would be enough K2, because you would have to eat a lot of liver and as liver is very high in vitamin A, you could easily get toxic levels of that vitamin! You shouldn't really be eating liver every day because of that reason, A is dangerous in very high amounts because it's fat soluble. You can get quite a bit of K2 (MK7) from fermented foods (Especially Natto) but if you don't fancy eating Natto, K2 is also in kefir (Fermented milk) and K2 (MK4) is mostly in free range/pasture raised egg yolks, meat and butter from grass eating cows. But I'm not sure if you would get 'enough' K2 from food......I have a small amount of kefir daily, but also take a 450mcgs in a supplement with 10,000ius of D3.

      Hi. You can take 2,000 IU of vegan vitamin D per day for your therapeutic dose, as long as you ALWAYS, ALWAYS take it with fatty cheese or vegan Omega-3 oil, otherwise even 1,000 IU of dry vegan vitamin D can hurt you. I am taking two doses of vitamin K2 per day as the fermented MQ-7 in amounts of 100 mcg x 2 = 200 mcg daily dose of vitamin K . My evening dose of vitamin K is with probiotic yogurt drink. I take 6 mg of Boron per day, taken opposite time of day from the yogurt, because the Boron prefers a time lag from calcium. Boron is GREAT the same way fermented vitamin K is great for allowing you to max up to the 2,000 IU therapeutic dose of vitamin D per day , even when your body is magnesium-intolerant. Boron will pick up the slack for poor-performing magnesium. I eat at least two ounces of cheese per day, as a mid-day snack, either on crackers or in pita bread. I eats nuts with dried cranberries for another snack. I also take supplemental digestive enzymes twenty minutes prior to my biggest meal of the day. For my prebiotic, usually I eat one banana per day, or I drink a toddler mix of banana, mango, kale and broccoli. I treat the toddler food as medicine, when I run out of bananas and can’t leave home. I won’t go out to a grocery store just for three bananas: I wait until I run out of probiotic yogurt to go to the grocery store. The toddler food ships into my quarantine home from Amazon Prime.

      Yes, in fact ACE inhibitors are sometimes combined with K2 therapeutically. www.lifeextension.com/magazine/2010/11/The-Remarkable-Anticancer-Properties-of-Vitamin-K/Page-01

      don dutson ..lisinopril the first time may have destroyed one of my kidneys that then received a clot creating stent that failed. throwing clot and a refill of lisinopril 9 years later caused a stroke . now they are proscribing new expensive blood alterers telling me i may die of clot getting into my other kidney....never start with those people...they will kill you..

      The only medication you should worry about when taking K2 is blood thinners. Coumadin, Warfarin .....
      A PT/INR test is needed.

    I have seen a lot of presentations coupling K2 with D3, but am hoping to see some content on whether it might be better to take K2 on its own where there is likely a lot of built up ucOC or for those who live in sunnier climates and get a lot of natural D.

      K2 MK7 stays in your system up to 72 hours. Whether you take it on its own or with D3, I don’t think it really matters too much.

    I am currently taking 5,000 IU of D3 and 125 mcg of K2-7. Should I increase one or both of these? As far as the K2 I've only seen it in dosage of 125 mcg. If I double it it would only be 250 mcg. I'm guessing I would not want to triple it?

    • @yankh4
      @yankh4 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm taking 100 mcg K2-7 and 2000 IU of D3 for the past 3 years . They have made a huge difference since having a heart attack 4 years due to an 80 percent blockage of the LAD artery. If taking large doses of D3, it may be necessary to have your vit.D levels checked.
