    Draw backs, once ur Done, you need to wash the screen out. Alot of the times, white water base ink dries to fast into your screen. Washing it out, the vinyl comes apart or comes off the screen. Than you gotta start over. If u use regular vinyl and iron it on, of course with a nylon setting. The vinyl won't move when u wash ur screen.

    • @Mrotg2u
      @Mrotg2u  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Very true, I made sure to keep the screen flooded and a spray bottle full of water just in case it did start to dry. I used regular htv and heat pressed it to the screen but it permanently got stuck on lol so I never attempted that method after that. I would definitely do it that way again if I plan on saving the screen for future use.

      @@Mrotg2u well, ya. Iron on, I believe if u reheat it, it may losen from the screen. That part I have yet to try lol. The ones I made will be ones I don't plan on removing so.

    I'm not too sure if you are aware by now that some companies have what is called a light pad to help you weed out your vinyl better especially if you use glitter vinyl.

    So what would you prefer
    Aluminium or wood screen ?
    And if hustle grind is your logo you use all the time .. what do you recommend for a “ reusable screen “
    Regular HTV or oracle ??

    • @Mrotg2u
      @Mrotg2u  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well I never used a wooden screen so I would say aluminum just based on my experience and the durability of the material.
      I haven’t really put it into production but i did actually heat pressed HTV to a 110 screen which adhered permanently to it. So It can be reusable. Since then I printed on that screen 4 times with no issues.

    Great video! So how many shirts will it hold up for?

    • @Mrotg2u
      @Mrotg2u  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Depending on how much the vinyl is tact down to the screen but I have put out at least 12 shirts before it starts to shift a bit.
      Pulling is better than pushing to keep the run longer.
      Pushing the most maybe 5 shirts.

    • @Mrotg2u
      @Mrotg2u  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes 10-12, pulling is better for me. Got to work on burning screens correctly lol

  • @RustyTube
    @RustyTube 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry if this is a dumb question: If the ink is water soluble, will washing the shirt make the image fade away over time?

    • @Mrotg2u
      @Mrotg2u  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely not a dumb question I asked that once myself lol.
      Depends on the type of ink used, curing, and application.
      Most water based inks are not as a opaque as plastisol inks so they will naturally look a bit faded. But the type of ink(brand) can also help with the vibrancy.

    • @Mrotg2u
      @Mrotg2u  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got mines from ryonet over a year ago and It was costly. I probably used it maybe 6 times since then including doing this video because I have trouble with the burning the screens and I hate the clean up of the emulsion and plastisol. I recently bought some 160 screens and a few 110s so I can really jump into screen printing full blown, probably will use water based ink. Weeding htv is becoming time consuming and the feel on premium garments is not doing it for me. So more screen printing videos will be coming soon!!!
      Get on yours you’ll start to love it!!!

    What is the purpose of flooding the screen?

    • @Mrotg2u
      @Mrotg2u  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With water based ink you flood the screen to keep your print area wet as it will dry in your screen and clog your image. With plastisol it’s not necessary to flood your screen but it’s good to do to ensure you’ll have even coverage when printing. Not everyone does it but I learn to always flood the screen so that’s what I do regardless of the type of ink.

    More bubbles in that thing that jacque the shrimps tank. The technique of flooding needs some practice too. Don’t think you should be trying to teach when you’re not there yourself. It’s like an apprentice tattoo artist teaching the public. You’re doing great. Just concentrate on you.
