Rachel, I’m 77 and have always loved to cook. I have learned so much from you that I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate your videos. My family is gone and my husband died 4 years ago so I have to scale all my recipes down for one. But I still cook. It’s my art. There was a lady named lemon crackle (I think) she cooked for one. But she no longer has a channel. Then I found you. And even tho I still have to reduce the recipes or eat left overs for ever, the food you cook is outstanding. Being a Texan I especially like the Tex Mex videos.

I'm 75 and when I was very young back when Moses was a baby, my mother used 3tbls Crisco and 5 tbls of ice water, 2 cups flour, a little salt. That would make a double pie crust. My family likes a double crust pot pie. I still have her blue enamel pie pans. Some things last forever. Love to all from Baltimore.

I actually think you gave me the confidence to give this a try. ((That’s says a lot, because dough has always had me backing away from it, why who knows). It’s not like it would be expensive to experiment with it, and I have been cooking meals and baking since I was about13, (shhhh that was almost 50 years ago),WOW, TIME JUST GOES BY WAY TOO Fast.! My parents both worked & us kids, being part of the family, had to help & have meals ready to put on the table, so we could all wind down after( shhhh, don’ tell anyone, that was almost 50 years ago

Crisco is the absolute best for most pie crusts…my Mom raised me on the joys of Crisco, and always used it in her pie crusts. Thank you so much for this chicken pot pie recipe…it’s the closest I’ve found to hers, and one of the few dishes she would make that she didn’t teach me how to do, so this recipe means an awful lot to me ❤️ I’ve been hunting for one that seems like what her’s was for forever!

Many years ago when I was about 10 yrs. old, I was fed homemade chicken pie. I became very ill from it and never never would I ever eat chicken pot pie ever again! I am new on your site, and just out of curiosity, I decided to watch and listen to your recipe here, and I have now, after 69 years, decided to make this pie. Chicken pot pie has always been one of my family’s favorites. I do mine almost exactly the same way. I do also add some diced potatoes. Sometimes a make one with no veggies for a picky eater I know. The crisco is the absolute best thing for flaky crust.

I love watching you so reminds me of my Mom , she taught me lots and I learned even more just by watching her Two things I have to say one I can not help but chuckle when you say 3/4 ths cup or 1/4th tsp up here we sayn 1 quarter of a teaspoon or 3 quarters of whatever , the other thing is when you say you can make pie crust if you have a cutter or a fork which is true ,I never did as my Mom taught me to use my hands and I still do I love your cooking show and I will continue to watch and try God Bless you and MyRon

That's the crust recipe we have, but with 12 T. CRISCO. Wow, yours is only 3! May have to give yours a try
