I lived in Yosemite August of '91 to August of '92. One of my last days in the park, I was riding my Cruiser and hit a crazy big pothole in the road. Slammed hard onto the asphalt. My head was bleeding like crazy, blood dripping down my face and onto my white t-shirt. I headed straight to a friend's tent cabin, freaking out tourists on the way there, my face and shirt all covered in blood. My friend (a curvaceous female named Zoe) cleaned me up. Luckily, I only had a tiny nick above my right eyebrow. No stitches needed, but man, a person's head bleeds like crazy when it's busted open, even a little.
I did shatter my kneecap from that fall, but I didn't have insurance so I just limped around for about 2 years. To this day, it still hurts if I put weight on it too long.
So take care of yourself, John. Because before you know it, you're staring down the barrel of 50 with a body all busted up. Peace.
