Guys, I understand a lot of you feel "mis-led". As mentioned 0:20 seconds in..."This video is geared towards the many Android Smartphone users out there, who own a smartphone and DON'T know a single thing about it..." This is NOT for advanced users. These are things the Average Joe PROBABLY didn't know & I'm glad it's been helpful for 10's of thousands of viewers. Thanks for watching! P.S. Video is nearly 2 years old
+TeQreation Well I'm an advanced user and I still found the info useful. Some people spend time making videos. Others just spend time criticizing other peoples work ;) Great work bro. Keep it up.
I actually found this very useful - ethernet on the tablet is very useful in a hotel situation because often the room has lousy WiFi but has the ethernet cable is supplied - so thanks for letting us know that it does work correctly with the correct cables
scandisk makes a little 32 gig and 64 gig WiFi flash drive with a SD card reader that can use up to a 128gig card. up to 6 devices can stream from it at a time.
Another useful hint is using your phone as a desktop computer, esepcially if it supports USB C. I use my Vivo Xplay 5 Elite, with 6GB of RAM and a Qualcomm 820, all the time as a computer. Using a USB C Hub, with 1 USB C, 2 USB 3.0, HDMI, Ethernet and a SD Card Reader, I connect a Samsung 24" Curved Display, MS Wedge Keyboard and Mouse, Lacie 4TB external HD, Wacom Intuos Drawing Board with stylus (yep, works great) and a HP AIO LaserPrinter in which even the scanner works using HP's fantastic app. Don't forget to install the app, "Second Display", this will allow you to make custom changes to the resolution, aspect ratio, Desktop DPI (which is very important, mine is set to 240 LDPI which makes the Android desktop look more like a traditional desktop OS. As well as the ability to extend the desktop instead of just mirroring it, perfect for displaying apps like WhatsApp on the phone for messaging while working on MS Word on the monitor. Doing this is extremely useful and in my case has completely negated the need for another computer, I even use my phone as my work computer. As we are give a Unix dumb terminal for the internal network and a ChromeBox for the external or dirtynet as we call it, my phone was actually a step up. As we use remote apps streamed over Citrix anyway, I don't miss out on a single thing as I have a Citrix Client on my phone.
1. No, the ethernet cable isn't designed for smartphones. 2. Yes, if your phone supports OTG, then you should be able to connect to your Dslr. Hope it helps!

I was thinking 'This video would be great for someone who uses a camera a lot... I'll probably send it on to my sister.' (She happens to be a fine art photographer and always on her phone!) But then you cracked the mystery of what that teensy glassy bit on the top of my last phone was! Mind. BLOWN! 💣☺ (Samsung Galaxy S4 that I still have & it does work, but I don't use it currently. Or should I say "I didn't" use...until now.) Brilliant! Thank you!
Stupid title to this video considering: number 1 and 2 are not things that android does, they are things you can buy extra and use with many devices which just so happens to include android devises. 3 is something relevant 4 is not relevant, anyone owning that camera would already be aware of the very obvious app that comes with the camera via the instructions. 5 who the hell doesn't know you can control your smart tv etc with your phone? Conclusion.. stupid title. In fact, a waste of my time and im sure many other people's time also. Yet another bogus tech channel pops in my suggested vids which i won't be watching again. If your video TITLE only kind of relates to the actual content, in this case, the 3rd and only the 3rd app, then consider changing the title to something relevant, or risk pissing off the tech people out there who you are hoping will subscribe. Because tech people are not idiots.
Great video like always, I like the idea of using my tablet as external monitor for my camera. I can't count the times I think my shot is good, then I view it on my monitor and its not in focus.
I use the DSLR controller on my N7 and in the menu section of that program it will give you the shutter count of the camera body...a neat bit of data if you ever need it. Good video & information, thanks
I am user who knows about this stuff but not necessarily about the different devices and apps other people use to execute said function so I still find it very entertaining and useful. Thumbs up here good video !
...great work ...I have plugged a USB hub with 4 bluetooth dongles and run a mouse, earphone, keyboard and camera at the same time. I think that the 8 cores discriminated well. Thanks for your video
You are so right, about knowing what your phone can do. Regarding the IR Blaster function, I really disappointed that the new flagship phone removed this functionality. S6 edge +, Note 5, S7, LG G5
Thanks! Some interesting stuff I didn't know and I'm a fairly advanced user. I like the way you get through it quickly and don't keep repeating yourself like lots of reviewers do. The quality of your filming is top notch and you're making the most of your cameras and lenses. I'm very impressed. New subscriber! :-)
Very nice video! That Peel remote app is amazing! Thanks for that! The quality of the video and the shots are very good, the only think I would suggest is that you try to be a bit more enthusiastic/energetic with your voice but other than that, great work!
very nice job kid! I've added this video to my faces for future reference and subscribed. The video was straight forward and understandable without redundance. Excellent
1. You can get a microusb flash drive which is much more practical. No card reading but it's generally irrelevant in common use 2. Most modern smartphones and tablet support high speed wifi connection that is on par with any wired connection you can get pretty much anywhere. Max speed will be really hard to achieve for casual users. Also wired connection is hard to find these days. Almost everywhere wifi is used today. 5. Most devices actually don't have IR blaster tough I agree it is convenient . None of the latest Samsung series include it and most other manufacturers are removing it as well
Veryprofessional informative video! You have perfect enunciation, very easy to understand,a great delivery.I liked it so much that I subscribed for the first time, ever. Thank You,Sir
The ir blaster remote is very helpful, especially when I can't find the remote control. Thanks man for the tip, especially using the phone as a monitor to control the camera. Great job on the video.
Nice work man. I find the OTG cable super handy with transferring too and from a USB stick but i didnt know that you can connect stright to an ethernet cable with the adaptor, awesome thanks for the info. Keep up the good work.
Praise God! Great job and I totally understood the title. I use a Note 3 and this tutorial was very informative. I totally agree with you, why spend $600 for smartphone just to talk. Keep up the great work and I'm a Subscriber now!
Really nice video...Thanks for uploading. ...I have a doubt...when I tried to connect a USB cam to my android phone, It didnt show up. saying it wont support mediatek processor. I just stumbled on to your channel & I really enjoyed this video. However, most of the content was over my head. I did get some useful information from the first & second tip. Thanks for the info.

thats pretty neat. that otg cable is the best thing ever. i use it to play ps3 controller to the emulators. and phone with broken touch screen, u can add a mouse to it and retrieve all u need before getting a new phone if u chose not to fix it. i used it since the s3. mhl is awesome too, as well as miracast with chromecast. and my favourite app for a remote control is "SURE universal tv remote". especially if you have different kinds of electronics. like me LG Tv, sony bluray player in one room. and insignia tv and lg dvd player another room.
Very informative, and unique products! Thanks for your hard work!
great descriptive video. how did record the audio?
Great video. It looks like you modded your cannon t2i dslr usb port. I have lots of people look for charging cords for their camera but have a proprietary usb ports stores don't carry.
I would like to see a thin fetachinie usb otg cable that fits into a cell phone case. Maybe have a small micro sdhc card reader in the case as well.
Amazing! Is there iOS equivelants for the external monitor usage?
